the significance of 9/11 puts those events to shame. even people who don't remember it or were not alive for it recognize its magnitude. my parents, who were alive for everything (including JFK's assassination, which is usually what 9/11 is compared to) say 9/11 was vastly more impactful than everything else.
it might actually be the most signficant event in american history. moreso than the moon landing, pearl harbor or even lexington and concord.
Ignoring the Declaration of Independence and signing of the Constitution as "proto-America," I'd say Moon Landing is #1 and 9/11 is #2.
