I finished the season earlier, watchable but quite underwhelming. Nothing about it is particularly good, it's DISTRACTINGLY pozzed even if you completely agree with it politically, and the season ends with blueballs and 0 satisfaction or emotional impact for the viewer.

What game did this happen in
It happened in the canonical Drama CD written by Koji Igarashi aka the director of the series. It was a send-off to the storyline with Alucard, Maria, and Richter. It was known as the "Nocturne" saga in Japan because the original Jap names of the games had that word in their subtitles. It was a really wholesome and emotional final chapter to that storyline that effectively gave Alucard a more human character arc along with a conclusion to his relationship with Maria. It and Order Of Ecclesia were the last things made by the og creators before the series died and its corpse started getting raped by Konami and now American writers for years.
Dunno if it's everyones cup of joe but Bloodstained was fun imo.

The worst part is that Nigette hogs an entire episode to tell a backstory that is.... cliche and could be told in five sentences (In a series that is already clogged with too much shit and doesn't have screen-time to spare). They could've left the scene where she meets the opera singer and axe the rest.

It seems to be the case. Although there are fans of the games that have been expressing their dissatisfaction. But the complaints being made are nothing new to the series like you said. Not to say the show is anywhere near flawless when it comes to it's adaptation of the source material. But it's your usual Netflix action series. I'm not into most video game adaptations in general as they mostly miss the mark more often then not.

That's very true however they are still featured in content that caters towards a different demographic more than often. I don't see why that can't be the case for gays. I wouldn't want it for the sake of checking a box but if it's there it's not an issue so long as they're not one note. But there is obviously content out there meant for gays. But within that niche it often falls into tropes and aesthetics that won't resonate with every individual of that demographic. It's not like gay men are all flamboyant, yes they do exist. But not everyone within that group is like that or fall into that particular culture. It's not as if it's a monolith.

The Dracula arc was good if you are flexible about it´s quality as an adaptation. Trevor, Sypha and Alucard had chemistry and the plot is alright as a self contained story. Music and fights were pretty good too.

Arcane had a lot going against it, being a video game adaptation and having dyed haired girls being front and center for all the ads but it had beautiful animation, a random screenshot could pass for a wallpaper and the story and characters are also good. It's the type of good that everyone can agree one even if they fundamentally disagree with everything else.

imo, the first series had it's fair share of pros and cons. I didnt like the childish gratuitous swearing, Ellis' inserting his fedora atheism into the story, and making alucard have that cringey sex scene. If they cut the fat from that second season and ended it there, it wouldve been good enough

Her style and aesthetic are too detailed, visually complex, and artistically beautiful for animation. It would have been too time consuming and would have required a lot of really skilled animators and artists from oldgay Japanese studios Koyani, pre 2020 Bones, and Madhose.
