>scientists lied to us
They straight up told the press these were enhanced colors, and also showed the original colors in the press release. The press went with the enhanced. It was the media that was dishonest.

It's still blue, just less blue. You can see for yourself with a sufficient hobby telescope, Uranus and Neptune are pretty similar in color.
The Voyager 2 photos were oversaturated and processed so the scientists could better study the storms and bands in the atmosphere. Also it looks cool.

NASA was always clear about the colors being edited, but it's no wonder no one paid attention.
well they should've sent out a public service announcement because all of our childhood science books depicted it as a deep blue alongside the other planets, and this influenced our films and games.
almost every NASA photo says false color in it's description. Almost every photo you see from NASA has been altered from different spectrums and even different elements being assigned specific colors.
They are pretty but almost never really look like they do in the photos.

Hard to judge just from those stills. The 2 dvd shots look over-saturated, but the original 35mm scan looks quite low res and possibly from a worn print. The bluray looks pretty good but too much sharpness
You aren't.
Neptune isn’t blue??
It’s named after the god of the sea. Of course it’s blue.
No, the scientists lied to us for like 50 years. But hey we are supposed to trust the science anyways, right?
Take it easy incel

But what about Mars?
nobody wants to go there honey

They made Neptune woke

Scientists made Neptune woke.
strange I thought Uranus was much darker than that
My anus is light because I have a bidet at home
BLEACHED
Soul vs Soulless
Next thing you know, they will add chicken feathers to it
>supervised by the director of photography
If the transfer is supervised by ANYONE other than the DP then it’s shit
Right looks 100x better, left looks like a VHS screencap of some old knackered washed out print
What about the 35mm print
BLUE ray
He can’t keep getting away with it
You got the Lord of the Rings DVD/BRD comparisons?
Why does the wake behind the ship have a shadow?
CGI error
Are you talking about the ship's shadow?
looks better

Well I've seen the actual sky so, the VHS image on the left wins on tone and hue and all that jazz.
>seeing the world through a vintage filter
You are literally moronic.
Even without talking about the colors, the bluray makes the CGI stick out like a sore thumb.
>it's called 'night' of the living dead, right??
What the actual frick
By having a theatrical film print as a reference, which they had, so those later Blu-rays are simply bad.
Aaaaaaaaah
EVERYTHING HAS TO BE ORANGE AND BLUE
