Probably plenty but it will be entertaining regardless.
G-saviour was clunky but there was some parts I liked.
Though I don't know if Sunrise is as involved on the Legendary project, beside maybe doing a few designs. We know it's not UC but it's own universe already.
For G-Saviour, Sunrise still did most of the lore elements
Is that actually happening? Probably depends if whoever is project lead is. If Tomino is directly involved and keeps a tight leash on creative control and the production team are willing to listen to him, could be good. That's how they're treating the One Piece adaption with Eiichiro Oda having a say with everything, and straight up told them if I think its shit I'm not gonna lie and say it isn't.
If the team does shit their own way its gonna blow ass.
Known staff is >direct coproduction with Legendary and Sunrise >director : Jordan Vogt-Roberts >Writer : Brian K. Vaughan >one of the concept artist : Eddie del Rio
but Jordan also got at Sunrise, seemingly teased a gunpla of the suit and also did this pic
Aside from Legendary pictures and the concept artist, the writer and director seem a bit of a mixed bag I dunno. Vogt-Roberts only directed one movie that could be in the same genre and that's King Kong Skull Island. Writer did a bunch of Lost episodes (didn't watch) and does a bunch of comics I'm not familiar with. So far looking pretty weak.
Honestly, the OP live action is still going to suck. I'd eat my hat if it ends up being a worthwhile endeavor. They should've just produced live action in Japan, where they actually give a shit about the source material.
I'm just regurgitating what I've read online. Having started One Piece it is indeed a labor of love for Oda and he does not want to disappoint his fans so we'll have to see.
>Brian K. Vaughan
oh no that's the guy from fricking SAGA and a bunch of marvel shit!! this is like putting Bendis or Morrison to write Evangelion, this will be a shit show

>If Tomino is directly involved >and the production team are willing to listen to him
That's exactly how G-Reco wound up such a retarted mess. Also this is an American film, he's not going to give a shit about it and Hollywood isn't going to give a shit about him. It will either be given to actual Gundam fans who understand the franchise or it will be a generic American sci-fi story with a thin veneer of Gundam references slopped on top.
A lot. You just know it's going to be a CGIfest. They should have just made it in Japan as a Toku with a decent budget. Hollywood can't into live action giant robot fights these days regardless of how high their budget is.
>This movie if it's good and Armored Core 6 will make normal people become interested in Gundam
Now the question remains if they'll ruin it like Witch from Mercury did or with what happened to Guilty Gear. Or would it be like 40k where everyone likes the lore and discussing it and not trying to change shit for political reasons.
movie is already confirmed to not use preexisting lore, it's it's own AU.
Only reused stuff will be a few MS from UC, CE and PD.
Story was said to be a smaller scalled story about two lovers on different sides, inspired by 0080 and 08th MS team
I don't care about gay shit, I care about good characters.
Them being gay won't make them good by default but it won't make them bad either.
Though I think it will just be an hetero couple, I don't think Jordan even ever commented on Gwitch
>but it won't make them bad either.
its very likely to make them bad by default because the only reason these companies ever have minority characters is shallow pandering, who are offensive to the very people they try to pander to by the way of being a shit and shallow characters.
It’s going to be ass. Better not be modernized and shit. Give me the ridiculous mobile suit fights and androgynous characters from the series and not some pandering garbage.
Probably plenty but it will be entertaining regardless.

Have you seen the Cowboy Bebop live action? We'd be lucky to get something .2% better than that.
that's different, Netflix is not directly producing it. they are only releasing it like Hathaway in the west
the production is by Legendary
the bed will seem to be formed of shit, no less.
So badly, Tomino will make a public statement regretting Gundam was even made.
Is that actually happening? Probably depends if whoever is project lead is. >labor of love
It really doesn't take much to buy in, does it.
Skull Island was pretty damn good. Vietnam Kino mixing with King Kong setting creatures was a surprising mix that worked well
Frick off tourist.
Hard to take a man with a triforce on his hand seriously.
Why is he so fricking bloated and effeminate looking? Poster child of american miscegenation.
You find this effeminate looking? Don't insult traps like this you bastard
>Writer : Brian K. Vaughan
It's gonna suck then.
>white people doing mecha
It's going to be so fricking bad
Jews aren't white, and everyone likes what Del Taco (white) did with Pacific Rim.
That doesn't mean it's good, it's crap. People only like it because of how latino it is.
>People only like it because of how latino it is.
What did the newbie mean by this?

It's going to suck because the source material isn't very good.
It really depends on how much action is in it. The more action the better. We need less talking.
Harder than 2004 Devilman movie
So shit, it will set the standard of shit and assure live action anime is never made again.
One can hope.

Sauce ?
Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger
Somewhere between Dragon Ball Evolution and Battle Angel Alita.
Okay but will it outdo fat Char's game?
Char or any prexisting character are confirmed not in the movie, it won't even be UC but it's own thing
Not Wing so it'll flop in America.

If there's any LGBT, it's fricking dead.
I don't care about gay shit, I care about good characters.

Same when it comes to having LGBT characters. The writing with them has to be good. WfM managed to sour on me on the lead couple.
>0080
so the girl will kill the guy at the end
Cant be worse than G-Savior
You think they will include a colony drop of some kind?
If it does, don't expect it to be some all encompassing visual. It will be a short lived scene.
it's a 60 gigaton bang. should be imax-tier overwhelming even before Island Iffish hits Sydney
Depends on budget.
Hey I know where this is! Its the Takashimaya Shopping Centre.
Going to be worse than G-Saviour.
it'll be good for gundam fans but terrible for new comers like the warcraft movie
What they should make: Apocalypse Now In Space
What they'll actually try to make: Power Rangers, Now With Gundam Toys
What they should make: Gimme shelter
What they will make: Paint it, black
It’s going to be ass. Better not be modernized and shit. Give me the ridiculous mobile suit fights and androgynous characters from the series and not some pandering garbage.
>and not some pandering garbage.
>modern hollywood
i admire your optimism.
