wheres butters?
Up your butt
Butters wouldn't really become a thing until midway through Season 3.
More like season 5/6
His first speaking role was in "Two Naked Guys in a Hottub", season 3, but he wasn't a regular character until late season 5.
hehe
butts
I never realised that Randy isn't on the movie poster. He'd had at least 3 subplots by the time this movie came out. I guess he wasn't in the movie tho.
the movie was more about the kids and mothers being over-protective
Is that him frowning behind the bus driver on the left? He was in the movie but only barely.
I'm pretty sure that's Damien
turns out he's right next to him
Why are there 2 Dr. Mafestos?
Why there never was enough special features for this movie?
Matt and Trey are lazy
Mini commentary are gay as hell
Either do the whole episode or don't
Agreed, but at least Paramount sat their lazy asses down and made them do a damn feature commentary track for the 1999 movie.

Watched it last time at 3am piss ass drunk; its a fun one.
Mini commentaries are so gay. They clearly can talk for 80 minutes about the movie they made, they can talk for 20 minutes about every episode too. They probably stopped because after the movie its clear that every year they were giving less of a shit. They probably didn’t want to talk for 20 minutes an episode because they weren’t passionate enough to come up with shit to talk about (or god forbid) they stop caring so much that they are unable to come up with things to talk about.
I still think the core of the matter is their laziness. Once they were too cool for the Oscars I think their passion for South Park began to slide
Butters is on there twice.
Sharon is also in the front twice on the left.
Just found 2 Shellys and 2 Randys too.
Both one left and one right near the middle and back.
He joins the army with the other dads
Saw it in the theater with dad. It was a cultural event but it wasn't huge, not like Episode I (ugh). There was a general awareness of South Park and some people saw it (I was in high school at the time), but in my school at the time it wasn't the Big Hot Thing or anything. The initial shock value of South Park had faded a bit by that point.
I was initially impressed with the medley which pivots from the second act into the third act. Their true medium has always been the musical, as opposed to animation, puppetry, the motion picture, etc.
>Their true medium has always been the musical, as opposed to animation, puppetry, the motion picture, etc.
This. The music is actually really good in this movie and it was the start of a very successful career in song writing for Matt and Trey. Now and then some of the musical numbers from this song come into my mind unbidden and I find myself humming them. Singing the lyrics out loud, in public, is generally ill advised, unless you don't mind people hearing
>Shut your fricking face, unclefricker!
>You're a boner-biting bastard, unclefricker!
>you're an unclefricker, I must say!
>you fricked your uncle yester-day!
I had that song stuck in my head the entire time while watching House of the Dragon.
I remember being really little like 5 or 6 and my older cousin wanted to see it and my aunt said no because children cursing is bad, my cousin explained to her that they were voiced by grown men. And just like that she took us to go see the movie and man was she pissed afterwards lol
kek
I had the opposite experience: old as hell very conservative Catholic great aunt took me to see it when I was a kid and she loved it. Apparently she also took my uncles to see Airplane! back when it was in theaters multiple times.
She totally speaks jive
As I recall it was the first rated R movie I saw once I was old enough to get in. As I recall the show was very big and very exciting at the time. So as I recall the movie just kinda went in tandem with that. Meaning it was also big and exciting. For possibly 100% of an audience already fans of the show. As for the crowd I vaguely recall I went during a weekday afternoon. I don't know if that helps answer your question or what a comparative example might be for you. Someone mentioned Phantom Menace
recall deez nuts

south park was very in the ethos when it came out but it was super early into the series, i think after season 2 so it wasn't really a huge hit in theaters, but when they started showing it on comedy central every boy 10-40 was watching it.
huge
>in canada
>everyone singing blame canada
good times
Saw it in the theater opening night. People loved it and I had a great time. South Park the series still had it back then.
Saw it when it came out and to this day I've still not laughed as hard as I did at the South Park movie. I don't know how it holds up today or with younger generations but at the time South Park was actually edgy (when the term was still used unironically) and pushing boundaries.
It was a big deal when it came out. The show was a big deal too. My parents would send us to bed so they could watch and I would try to listen from the top of the stairs
It was pretty much how they depict Asses of Fire and Asses of Fire 2 in the show.
It was THE thing if you were a boy.
Growing up as a young millenial, it was a right you had to earn if you saw this movie. Most of our parents wouldn't let us watch it cuz you'd have to rent it from Blockbuster most likely, and good luck convincing them you're mature enough to see it when you're like 10
I'm a zoomer and I bought it on iTunes when I was 11 and watched it on my ipod touch.
shut YOUR fricking face unclefricker
YOU'RE the one who fricks your uncle unclefricker
you don't eat or sleep or mow the lawn
you just frick your uncle all day long!
that said, Up There by Satan is the best song.
>if you want I can even get my friend Steve to detail your car for like 20 bucks
This movie taught me whole lyrics of canadas national anthem. Im from slovakia.
So i would guess it had noticable impact.
Anon, I don't know how to tell you this but "Blame Canada" is NOT canada's national anthem, although it should be
