I've been rewatching it on and off for the past month after work and it's great
just watched Jose Chung's From Outer Space and it's such a good episode
and in general the show can be pretty funny; they don't really banter a lot but I've laughed out loud at the back and forth between Skully and Moulder more often than most comedies I've seen
And it's not even meant to be a comedy. It's pure genius.
it does help that they are both have some pretty great comedic chops, and that it's also entirely in character
it's not "jokes" that are basically just for the audience, but funny jabs between two people who know and care for each other that are also quite funny
I used to love that kind of writing. Everything just panders to the audience now, they can’t even bear to write characters with opinions opposite to themselves
That’s one of the best episodes of the whole series. I’m a sucker for the “multiple people telling the same story” stories. I also love Bad Blood for the same reason

idk about the revival slop but mulder usually only is a skeptic if it's religion based which honestly should be seen more as a plot device since it highlights a role switch with scully, or when he's so gaslit or embracing defeatism he goes into denial. scully's consistent skepticism is far far harder to justify as the show goes on
nah more like x files is the perfect example of why you need to either fully write out your plot before filming or know when it's time to wrap up a series. past a certain point they'd blown their load and were fumbling trying to keep the story going and it's a hot mess
