How come attractive people like this show but ugly people say its not funny and tend to like shows like Seinfeld more?

Incredibly based. She looks like a bimbo but she’s also very well educated and comes from a family of scientists

It has an elitist ethos, and being unattractive is treated as a joke in itself.

I don’t get that at all, it’s way less pretentious than shows like Seinfeld or Frazier.
And I can’t think of a single bit or episode in friends where the punchline is just that someone is ugly.

        fat ugly naked guy

The joke isnt just that he’s ugly or fat, the joke is that he walks around naked all day in his apartment right infront of his open windows and they can’t help themselves but to look at him.

Which is funny because he's ugly. The joke wouldn't work if he weren't. Hence, they call him "UGLY naked guy"

              >which is funny because he’s ugly
Not by itself, no. The punchline isn’t that he’s fat and ugly. The punchline is their fascination with him. If your neighbor walks around naked in his house with all his windows open, people are going to look.

Sounds like you already have your own theory why make a bread about it? Why ask a question if your gonna try to influence the answer?

This doesn’t make sense, how could you not have some kind of thought or theory on something you’re asking a question about?
It sounds like you feel personally insulted by my theory which lends it credence

No I hate when people are coy and don't say what they want or mean. Your just looking for validation for an idea not to come to any conclusion of truth

I’ve said exactly what I meant, you just don’t like it because the shoe fits. But just because it does in your case doesn’t make it true.
          It’s just something I’ve observed.

I've observed only women watch friends. Because there are no biological women on this site you must be trans. Trans people are not attractive so you contradict your own argument.

Ugly inside and out, further proof of my theory.

Frasier, Seinfeld, and Friends are all good and I like them

      Based.

There was just this low IQ peer pressure to say this beautiful people trash was entertaining. You also had to think Hottie and the Blowfish was good.

It’s funny. Uggos need to stop applying the fact that they’re ugly to everything and letting it warp their view of art

You think Friends is art? lmao

Of course it is. I’m not making a statement about the quality of the art, but what else could it be?

      yeah, they were all sublime
their writing is funny, the characters are all likeable, and they're lighthearted
frasier and seinfeld have arguably better writing than friends, but friends nailed the mix of sitcom/soap opera relationshit and is incredibly comfy

I mostly enjoy sitcoms about a dysfunctional family unit like Frasier and Two and a Half Men. They are funnier and more relatable to me. Seinfeld and Becker are some of the few exceptions to this rule.
The Facts of Life is also a guilty pleasure of mine

      >Joey, the biggest friend
Chandler weighed almost twice joey did by the end of the show. they always hide his fat ass behind other cast members or have him sitting behind a table to hide his gut[spoiler]

    interesting opinion.
i've noticed when i watched friends when i was younger i would just admire the friendships and them supporting each other.
now as an older dude i tend to laser focus on monica waist and rachel's breasts and notice how jacked or fat the dudes get as the seasons go on(ross especially - they hide his jacked chest and shoulders under MULTIPLE layers of sweaters and shirts).
i do have body dysmorphia coz of weight i gained during covid and the mirror not reflecting what i thought i looked like(am on Cinemaphile regularly and plan to take roids when i hit late 30s)
