have you seen the movie? they're supposed to be hopelessly out numbered with no time to spare. it's lucky that there are any arrows in the barrel at all.
The logistical situation at Helm's Deep was pretty bad. >didn't really prepare for the war until way too late so probably didn't build up a large supply of arrows ahead of time >in any case have to transport women and children and supplies for them all so limited means to transport arrows regardless >elves presumably had to rush to get there ahead of the orcs (somehow) and therefore couldn't have taken the literal wagons loaded with arrows that were used to supply archers on campaign irl
That they weren't well prepared was a big factor in the story.
the elves don't even turn up in the battle in the books iirc
also they wall of helms deep should have some sort of ditch or moat before it, and the bridge leading to the keep should have had a wooden retrectable part
Yeah that was an invention of the PJ movies and didn't make a great amount of sense. The Elves are supposed to have made it to Helm's deep from apparently Lothlorien, through the Gap of Rohan, faster than the orcs. That's not something Tolkien would ever write, notwithstanding the ramifications of the elves entering the war proper.
If Rohan had time to prepare how would they deal with the massive ladders? How did any medieval castle do it?
A moat, other ditches and obstacles instead of a flat, easy piece of ground to bring the ladders up to the walls, and wooden constructions overhanding the wall with holes to drop heavy/hot shit through. A steep slope leading up to the wall would be good if a moat isn't feasible.

In the books the elves are at war with Dol Guldur but the film doesn’t have time to give proper context that war happens all around the continent. I think it was a good addition to the movie because it shows elves aren’t passive and just fricking off from Middle Earth while leavinv men to their own.
They launched huge harpoon hooks over the walls with ropes attached, these latched on and dozens of uruks were pulling so they were tight. Then the ropes were used to pull up the ladders. No one is going to be pushing that off. Some were stopped by legolas shooting the ropes
The big ladders aren't going anywhere but the smaller ladders only had hooks to secure them. Maybe you could pour oil on the big ones and make them slippery or set the tops on fire.

or... just have one lad with an axe or hammer easily killing everyone who tried to come up the ladder?
>how would they deal with the massive ladders? How did any medieval castle do it?
Knock them down, pour hot water over them. Burn them. These ladders are useless.
Easy.
Just have a few lads eating a few wagons full of bananas and throwing the babanneer peels down the ladders.
Nobody, whether an ork or elf or even a god, would be able to step anywhere near it without falling
>why can't congress do all the things a soldier can do?
>why can't a stunt coordinator do all the things a stuntman can do?
and so on
more like why is congresswoman better fighter than navy seals
Why didnt legolas just fly upside down and kill every orc in the world?
Galadriel has a Ring, Legolas is the spawn of Celeborn, idk who Arondir is.
The black elf from the rangs of powa. He is a simple farmer of blacksmith I don't remember.
isn't Legolas the spawn of Thranduil?
>Celeborn
isnt that the dude from the cuckshed
She doesn't have a ring yet, Sauron hasn't put it on her finger yet
>one barrel with like a dozen arrows in it on the entire wall
they have arrows on their back but yeah more in the barrel wouldn't hurt
They have maybe 8 in their quivers. It’s just funny to have one barrel with such a small amount of arrows
bad tax policy. not enough money for arrows.
It's funnier that the next barrel down the line has jumbo sized arrows instead.
They realised the uruks had plate armor that made their arrows useless

It's also probable that elf bows are not bored for human arrows.
Bored?
How the frick is a bow bored?
They put rifling on that bow too?
Maybe they should change the caliber of arrows?

Give a guy a long stick with a forked end and have him push the ladders off.

Literally just poke them with spears. Ladders are dumb.
galadriel's companions in ep 1 were jobbers as well
These are Lorien b***hes.
>show them no mercy for you shall receive none
bruh who the frick showing mercy on a orc
you bet there's at least someone with a "orcs welcome" sign somewhere
socio-economic factors, if the orcs just had more programs, they wouldn't have to attack
so we can agree that people of Gondor are Americans right?
They were river elves, not wood elves
frick those armors look cool
None of them is a main character, basic anime rules.
