How come people who like comics and cartoons end up way more adjusted (at least mentally) that people who are into politics, anime or videogames?

you realize that's not the case for most people who still watch cartoons right? And the things you just said would be thought by the people who browse those boards too.

People who like cartoons are just chill people. People who like politics are usually fricking nuts people.

Especially because most people's political stances aren't based on morality but rather alligning to your prefered party regardless of what they do.
Political party or affiliations should not be a thing, period.

this is the same community that gave us unironically angry reviewers with arrested development giving death threats to writers on twitter over episodes you personally didn’t like

Why do you think that's exclusive to just cartoons?

  7. 9 months ago
    Anonymous

Nah we're equally mentally fricked, if not more so. But politics, animu, and vidya are more popular mediums so their shitfests are more ostentatious, which in turn draws more attention to their respective spergs

Video games and anime are normie shit whereas cartoons are autism central what are you talking about. Western comics maybe but that's also because they're a relatively dead niche in comparison.

There's a lot of overlap with all those intrests. So chances are someone who likes cartoons probably also likes anime or videogames or whatever and is probably a man child thus fricked in the head.

I feel like it takes an ounce of self awareness and open mind to enjoy things perceived as mostly for children, when knowing they're actually. suitable for everyone. There's humility in it.

Anime fans are either just coomer pedos or edgy esl teenagers, and video games are mainstream

      >Anime fans are either just coomer pedos
I haven't seen 1 thread about children's cartoons that didn't have people lusting after 1 of the characters. So you are full of shit.

That's definitely not true, the existence of bronies alone kind of destroys that argument.

I disagree. I think all of these things have the same ratio of spergs to normies.

I won't aspire to a stressful job nor I'll start a family or live to please a b***h. I will watch comics and cartoons till the day I dye. Comics and cartoons are peak humanity. And I ain't in it for the power, and I ain't in it for the health. I ain't in it for the glory of anything at all and I sure ain't in it for the wealth. But I'm in it till it's over and I just can't stop.

I like politics but in the actual boring way where it's studying bills and the legislative process, like how people thought of politics before the 2010s. I feel like the people I know like that are also pretty sane honestly, the modern """politics""" that people obsess over just being some culture war garbage, the people that are into that shit feel fricking broken. Make politics boring again.

Politics is the literal art of managing and controlling people. Cartoons is just learning lessons of life and enjoying it.

If your supposition is actually true, I would think it's because comics are heavily dominated by older white men, who suffer from the second fewest instances of serious psychoses per capita among racial and gender demos. They are skewing the results.
If we try to quantify actual harm and negative influence, cartoon watchers will definitely come out on top, as this small group is the source of tumblr culture, cancel culture, MLP, furries, and transgender ideation.

Those are your examples of negative influence? Things can certainly be far worse, especially when considering recent politics

An entire board had to be created specifically because fans of a single show were so fricking infectious that they tainted conversations everywhere else

But you're way more likely to find a normal person with an interest in video games, anime, or politics than cartoons, so either way OP is wrong.

I was about to disagree but I have yet to find a cartoon fan that has burned down an animation studio or get arrested after raping, killing, and eating multiple little girls. You may have a point (for now, at least).

They may have more extreme outliers but I think that just stems from probability since anime/vidya has way more people into it. If you classify being well-adjusted on a 1-10 scale I think the median cartoon fan would be closest towards the "maladjusted" side

The guy who burned the studio was a mentally ill writer who thought they stole idea from his novels, not really anime related

      >Gregory Lewis Burson (June 29, 1949 – July 22, 2008) was an American voice actor. He was best known as a replacement for voice actors Daws Butler and Mel Blanc following their deaths in 1988 and 1989, respectively.
      >In May 2004, Burson was arrested by detectives after barricading himself inside his home in Tujunga for six hours before surrendering. Initial reports claimed that an armed S.W.A.T. team had responded to a call from two of his female roommates that he was drunk, armed and holding a third female roommate hostage.
      >Officers later discovered that he had a collection of guns in his home. Burson also screamed a stream of nonsensical words at the police when they were alerted to his home; one officer said, "He was so drunk, we couldn't tell if he was trying to do one of his voices or was just slurring his words." Officer Rudy Villarreal confirmed that all three women involved in the incident lived with Burson, but none of them were harmed.
      >The incident resulted in Burson being blacklisted for the rest of his life.

homie there was a cartoon fan who shot up his shitty grocery store workplace and killed himself to be with his cartoon ghost waifu in the afterlife.
