Eltic is only popular with the polish and patricians. Now that the Witcher is out any Elric adaptation would be deemed a rip-off
*Elric
Frick
The lads at Games Workshop also ripped him off pretty thoroughly.
Elric is one of the dozen or so old school fantasy properties that influence pretty much the whole genre.
Elric is comically stupid. The most embarrassingly clear author-as-character jerking himself off shit I've ever read.
>Patricians
Jesus Christ. Why not call him Kino and Based while you're at it. Just get all the stupid buzzwords used by the most marginal minds and heap them on the most embarrassing shit
Sorry, I wanted another p-word
Ah yes, who wouldn't be an anemic twink with turbocancer forced to kill people with an Evil Sword to stop dying
Who wouldn't want to be the king of the most fricked up, cruel, degenerate and sadistic people in the world, costantly swarmed by would-be pretenders to the throne
Who wouldn't want to be one of the must EGREGIOUS FRICKUPS of a character in the history of fantasy
Truly, Elric is a Gary-sue among Gary-sues
did you even read the Books, m8, or yer just trolling?
I think you replied to the wrong post. Also it's 'Gary-Stu' or 'Marty-Stu' when referring to an OP super special self insert type character.
>I think you replied to the wrong post
No, i didn't
homosexual calls Elric "The most embarrassingly author-as-character jerking himself off" and anyone who unironically says that must either be trolling, or be stupid
NOBODY wants to be Elric
Oh I disagree. Razorfist wishes he was Elric. Moorwiener deifnitely wants to be him.
>Razorfist
I hate it that he is now forever associated with any and all Elric/Witcher discussions.
Razorfist is a fricking moron, go ask him if he wants to be Joe Bonham or Oedipus
>Moorwiener defnitely wants to be him
If that was the case, he wouldn't have written him as such a frickup with a shitty ending to boot
He's into BDSM. You don't expect him to get off to misery?
Nah, BDSM and Misery Porn (neithre of wich are Elric) are two completley different things
>Elric
>not bdsm or misery porn
Yeah I don't believe it. I've seen the recent comic adaptations. His people revel in hedonism & sadism.
>didn't read the original stories
Opinion discarded.
Read the fricking books
No thank you.
>Uhhh this random author totally wrote a self insert guiz just look at how tragic his character is he's secretly a masochistic
4cucks is lost its nothing but inflammatory twitter tier garbage now.
Rape, virgin blood sacrifices galore, orgies and on and on.
Elric reminds me of zal from iraian myths wonder if moorwiener got his character from there
These posts are stupid, there are barely any good cartoons in general it's not like every western pulp gets a cartoon adaptation. It's not an Elric specific issue
>Sephirot ripoff
Lol
Outstanding bait
No one cares about Moorwiener's BDSM edgelord elves. They're not marketable for an animated feature & Elric is literally the servant of an evil god that demands blood.
Elric is an anti hero and not your average tolkshit (don't get me wrong i like lotr but the fans are so obnoxious) and those are more popular than ever.
He's not an anti-hero. He's an anti-villain. He has killed innocent people & children purely because he could. That's not popular at all. Plus he's literally snow white. An albino. They wouldn't allow a character like that in western animation.
>anti hero
>average tolkshit
>reading comprehension
Do tumblrites really?
More wiener
Elric is leas interesting than the characters he influenced.
Not really
>the characters he influenced
Such as?
Geralt, Drizzt, and there's a Warhammer character who's book got released recently. I can't remember his name, but the story is called The Hollow King and he's got a very strong Elric vibe.
Geralt isn't Interesting
Drizzt Isn't that interesting
and Malus Darkblade is the least interesting of the bunch
I'll give you Geralt, the rest are shit.
What a shit thread as expected of the shitskins and roasties of Cinemaphileumblr
Give me Jerry Cornelius any time.
>I wield the mighty black Penisword that I keep in the magical Pussysheathe
Gee I wonder why
I recently read the double pack of Elric by Cawthorne and Druillet at my library. It was good, though druillet's chapter was spoiled by my reading Yrgael first where he shamelessly and lazily lifted images from his Elric into a new story.
My local shop has the Morewiener library series of Elric books but I don't know if those are any good.
>but I don't know if those are any good.
I think someone once told me that reading the stories in published order is better than chronological.
Because the stories that were published later tend to be worse. So check the order of the stories, I guess.
Because at the end of the day, he's just emo Conan without the charisma. Not counting the revivals, all of the original books except for the first one aren't even books, they're just fix-ups of short stories. There's no cohesive over-arching plot like with LOTR.
>he's just emo Conan without the charisma
He's actually intended to be the opposite of Conan which is what makes him interesting. Weak instead of strong. Magic over physical. Intellect over strength. Drugged up instead of clear headed. Goes from king to mercenary instead of mercenary to king. No moral code. Manipulative, scheming, etc.
Maybe it's because of each author's style, but the original Conan stories are more fun to me than Elric stories.
Interesting point, Australian Satan.
More to say though that he's handled in the same piecemeal fashion as Conan under which circumstances one fantasy sword swinger seems much like another. Corum at least got two full sets of novels even if he's that much more lackluster.
