Probably by not being used at all if Iizuka was just going to give the writers a bunch of rules on how Shadow shouldn't be treated too humorously in a comedy-driven show.
Right, what I'm saying is Sega is like "use the characters that we are incorporating into the Sonic Boom game" even to the detriment of what they could do with those characters.
In other words despite being superior the show was playing second fiddle to the game with Sega's strategy around it (they were trying to use the show to drum up interest in the game).
>"Sonic made to appeal to Americans"
As much as Western Sonic keeps the brand rich & relevant to non-fans and normies, Sonic Team makes decisions that makes more problems than solutions - and this is deliberate.
In their hearts, Izuka hates Western Sonic and wishes for the gaijin to embrace his furry DBZ fanfiction like his hardcore fans do.

Zoomers grew up on 00s autism, so we're here to fill the gap and create 20s autism 😉

Dragon Ball elements like Super Sonic predate Iizuka's involvement with the franchise, though. I am fond of shonen Sonic from the early 00s', personally, but I'm not American either, so that might factor in.

Sonic X would've been more tolerable if Chris Dyke wasn't in it.

I agree with this. Originally, in the pilot pitch made to the network there was no Chris and instead there were other "furry NPCs" rather than humans, but it seems the network decided to add Chris because "super powered animal shows" can't be successful there without a human boy for self-inserting (see: Ash from Pokémon, Genki from Monster Rancher, basically every Chosen Child and Tamer in Digimon...)

It's confirmed: execs are moronic no matter what country they're from.
It was funny >"your shoddy craftsmanship is a disgrace to all hedgehog kind" > eggman the character being super excited for shadow while the delivery of the lines make it clear that shadow is being made fun of by the writers
I need to rewatch some eps again. Stalker fan, Sticks Info-wars, and Eggman going to evil school are great episodes.
>only shows up in the finale >treated with a faux seriousness that makes his silly dialogue even more hilarious >"We'll meet again, Sonic. But next time... it will be on MY terms" is his closing line after both defeats, when both times they literally fought on his terms
Perfect, no notes, that's why that show is the goat
Being the new love interest for Tails
Rundown that scenario for me.

Tails never said it was free
Shadow-sama
Frick that gay shit, but it would be interesting if Tails started following Shadow around sometimes instead of always Sonic.
Wait, he isn't already?
Probably by not being used at all if Iizuka was just going to give the writers a bunch of rules on how Shadow shouldn't be treated too humorously in a comedy-driven show.
Problem is Shadow's also in Rise of Lyric so they basically had to incorporate him as a tie-in to that dumpster fire.
The show was way better than Rise of Lyric, though. At worst it was harmless, RoL was the true dumpster fire.
Shattered Crystal was okay I guess? I'd rather Fire and Ice. The fans hate it for being DKC, but DKC > Sonic anyway.

Sadly the glitches were more well-known than the show itself.
Sega's decisions never cease to baffle me, especially for a "Sonic made to appeal to Americans" when that was all Sonic ever was from day one.

Truly the Year of Shadow.
By being in Sonic Prime.
> Appears from nowhere.
>Says something stupid about how Sonic sucks.
>Proceeds to fight him because yes.
Sonic Boom's Shadow was the best by far.
Not having a million autistic mandates
He's gonna be in Sonic 3, so it counts for something.
That's like every sonic character now
>now
Shadow, according to Mike Pollock and Ian, has it especially bad, though, to the point it's a genuine struggle to do ANYTHING with him.
Ian and Pollock are just b***hes. The Prime writers wrote Shadow just fine.
>The Prime writers wrote Shadow just fine.
It's Man of Action, so obviously they'd deliver.
He looks so feminine

The whole show was kino, and I'm glad I got the first season on blu-ray. (I sadly don't have the second, but I need to get it soon...)
Damn the second season is a huge jump in quality though. Hope you complete your collection anon.
I still have yet to complete my Lower Decks collection, but it'll all be worth it once I have proper funding 🙂

Say gex
Shadonic, my friend. It's been around since the Sonic Shorts days.
he is used well.
and sparingly, don't forget sparingly.
