How did Anakin lose again? He's supposed to be the strongest force user ever.
Don't muh highground me. He could have just used force push to knock Obi wan back.

>He could have just used force push to knock Obi wan back.
This is why I magic-like powers are stupid. But maybe Anakin was just stupid for not doing this but going for a direct attack instead.
>he doesn't know about force absorption
Get out of here pleb. If you tried to use force push on me 1v1 I'd roll stab you
The scene was supposed to show Anakin's arrogance and pride you dumb fricks, as in he thought so highly of himself he thinks he wouldn't need force push or whatevwr to win. He genuinely thought he could loop de loop slash Obi Wan because he is new le powerful sith.
He was wrong. That's the scene.
Why didn’t he do a really high force jump
They showed that Anakin and Obi Wan are equal in terms of force use on mustafar. Remeber when they both attempt to push each other and then both get flung back.
prime obi wan’s form 3 defense was impenetrable by anyone but a form 2 master
I love all the lore about saber forms but in the films it's almost impossible to extrapolate anything other than starting stances. Everyone just fricking windmills.
This. Obi-wan was also renowned for maintaining Force Armor Zeta which made him ready to counter all offensive Force pushes and pulls. In the Obi-wan series he no longer has Force Armor Zeta which is why Darth Vader can throw him around so easily. Palpatine used Force Armor Alpha which allows him to be pushed, but greatly enhances his lightning and ability to throw objects with the Force.
Clouded judgement.
>Don't muh highground me
But that's the reason, Obi had the high ground bonus.
>Don't muh highground me.
>mfw meet a high ground skeptic
The Force is 10% practice, 20% midichlorians and 70% high ground. Cope and seethe.
You forgot spinning. It's actually a good trick.
It's actually 10% luck, 20% skill, 15% the concentrated power of Whills, five percent midichlorians, and 50% high ground.
anger makes you sloppy. when you're sloppy you make mistakes.
this is day one human stuff dude.
The dark side is stronger
No is not, is just easier.
not if you're too entrenched in spergy rage to make calm and rational decisions
That's why count Dooku is the GOAT
>loses to a muppet
The dark side will never be stronger, because the dark side is trying to pervert and corrupt the force, it just doesn't work in the long run.
The dark side allows the ego of a single person to override the collective will of all other life in the galaxy.
The movie was about to end, Georgie wasted the last 30 minutes on CGI slop duel that lost all of its emotional momentum and just became an eye sore, and it was the time to put Vader in the suit. Ugh, HIGH GROUND LOLLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL! BRAVO!
Star Wars is fricking terrible.
Not trying to excuse this, but think the point in here was that Maul had beaten the master and was way better than Obi Wan so he underestimated the apprentice and got really wienery which is why he got his lightsaber cut in half and then himself as well when before he was holding and getting the better of both at the same time.
They just assembled that scene in such a terrible way that made it look like Maul could simply cut Obi Wan at any point on that jump but just decided to let himself get killed.
>He's supposed to be the strongest force user ever
muh midichlorians
He was angry. Angry makes you blind.
Blind + the low ground = lose.
Reminder that we were supposed to get a different ending to the fight, but then George changed his mind on the day of filming and added the whole lava sequence

That's actually pretty interesting. I wish they'd gone this route now, but it is a significantly less flashy climactic moment.
honestly it being less flashy would have been more beneficial, the entire finale did suffer from it being way to over the top
He overestimated his power
Classic "hard work beats natural talent" trope
he monke
Vegeta is the hard worker, Goku just has friends in high places.
>Born with a 1k PL, 18k when he arrives on Earth vs born with a 2 PL, 8k after training with 2 gods and 2 sages
Yeah, no. That's just Vegetagay cope.
>quoting power levels
>accusing anyone of cope
Powerlevels are a clean and simple narrative device to convey strength. To disregard them when they're vital to the crux of the argument is just silly.
Vegeta was born with a powerlevel close to 1000. Goku was born with a powerlevel of 2. That's a 500x difference.
Goku after training with two martial arts sages and two gods acquired a powerlevel of 8000, which is 10k short of Vegeta's natural 18.000 acquired by simply fighting aliens. Goku could only close the distance with the Kaioken. So in essence a lifetime of meticulous and rigorous martial arts training versus a life of overbearing brute natural talent and yet Goku still comes up short when they finally meet.
To this day they have remained equals despite Goku having access to gravity training first, discovering new forms first, training in the afterlife for seven years and training with Gods. Vegeta gets these advantages long after Goku has used them to become stronger. If he had access to the same training Goku did from the start, he would be way ahead. Goku trains smarter, has trained for longer, and has the better methods and yet he's only equal to Vegeta. Vegeta is the naturally gifted one.
Also keep in mind when Vegeta actually gets to train with a God for the first time he closes the gap between him and Goku in six months. Goku at that point was quite literally thousands of times stronger than Vegeta since he had SS3 and SSG over him.
Vegeta coasted on natural talent until he met Goku, learned the importance of hard work, and started training. By Super it's apparent it paid off and Vegeta is the harder worker.
Is that true though? I imagine he probably fought some tough guys and got into some interesting pickles as an intergalactic thug
He stated he never trained before. He got stronger via pure combat but that's not working hard, at least not as hard as Goku.
Vegeta arguably works harder now but Goku has worked for longer and smarter, with access to the latest plot devices and God training. The fact that they're equals in spite of this just proves that Vegeta is the more naturally talented fighter. Goku had all the gear and environmental advantages and still comes up short.
But they both have natural talent from their species
>How did Anakin lose again?
Obi-Wan trained him and was the more experienced fighter. Meanwhile Anakin was going schizo with anger.
The real question is, how did he lose a 2nd time as Darth Vader?
>don't muh highground me
he didn't just have the physical high ground, obi wan also had the moral high ground
I've seem MMA matches were a guy built like a refrigerator was taken down by a small guy who knew how to fight
not many know this but the High ground is not merely having a higher spatial elevation but rather the moral highground. Obi-Wan was good and so he would win because the bad guys always lose 🙂
Obi had a small window in his prime where he was untouchable.
wow it's weird how this small window lasted 1 second specifically while Anakin jumped over him
Because George Lukas wanted a quick fall for Anakin, instead of a better written & more nuanced slide.
Anakin should have been chopped up during the clone wars, always placed by the Council into a meat grinder because he was powerful & he was "the chosen one" so they keep using him as a hammer to win, meanwhile we gets more & more limbs hacked off & more & more scars. Have him grow disillusioned by the Jedi way & their powerless pacifism, as he grows to value strength & order over altruism. They should have had Palpatine constantly whispering in his ear, guiding him away, not a five minute conversation at an opera.
The first two movies should have been merged with a teenage anakin with big dreams & a reckless attitude & his brother Owen being a put upon responsible brother (like the beginning of Prince if Egypt) Anakin meets the Princess, saves the day, & the Clone wars begin, all in one movie. Obi-Wan & Anakin are similar ages, much more like brothers.
Second movie is is corruption, Anakin should have fought in the front lines, slowly loosing everything he cares about but Padme. He keeps thinking that if he was only stronger, like the Jedi Council say, then he should be able to win. In the end of the second movie, he turns his back on the Jedi, joins with Emperor Palpatine, as his Sith Apprentice.
Third movie he fights Obiwan, & loses his lightsaber & needs to be intoned in his armor
yikes
He tried pulling a similar trick to what Obi Wan pulled on Darth Maul if I remember correctly, his hubris took him over.
To be honest the only thing I question now is why didn’t Obi Wan make any real attempt to bring him back to the light during their duel?
>Obi Wan make any real attempt to bring him back to the light during their duel?
Obi Wan and Yoda had written him off by that point; I'd say slaughtering the younglings is what did it.
He tried to do the same thing Obi-wan did to Darth Maul snd Obi-wan knew how to counter it.
The entire fight was fricking dumb because everyone who saw the old movies knew that Obi Wan survives and Anakin ends up in a life supporting suit
it's called tragedy pleb
Is any of it really even his fault? They always preach that the force has to be balanced so there will always be bad guys to balance out the good ones. He never could of been the good guy because his fate was sealed by the force balance shit right?
>the strongest force user ever.
>muh chosen one
Lucas is a fricking idiot for taking that route
Nothing wrong with a chosen one narrative, Westerners are just mind-rotted materialists.
>He's supposed to be the strongest force user ever.
who gives a shit, when its two jedis fighting technique and experience matter more
obi wan knew this and was totally confident because
>he's trained and fought with a saber since before anakin was born
>he taught anakin almost every he knows so surprises there
>he knows anakin is angry and off balance
honestly if anyone shouldve been worried its anakin
>oh shit, obi wan's still alive and here
>your dad waiting at the front door to whip your ass after he's already heard what happened at school today
You cant just use the force against other force users willy nilly you fricking disney starwars fan tertiary. Name one time it happened in any movie with the sole exception of force lighting which is a power in its own class.
>You cant just use the force against other force users willy nilly you fricking disney starwars fan tertiary. Name one time it happened in any movie with the sole exception of force lighting which is a power in its own class.
Count Dooku EFFORTLESSLY slinging Obi-Wan across the room in the invisible hand, despite being outnumbered and needing intense focus to do this while Anakin is trying to kill him.
Obi-Wan getting force-pushed by Darth Maul into the Theed reactor put.
He didn't even try to use the Force against Obi Wan. In fact, in deleted concepts Anakin was showing off by using the Force to attack Obi Wan with the lava itself. That was the reason why Obi Wan had to escape the lava river in that scene. In terms of lightsaber dueling technique, it was Anakin's unstoppable force vs Obi Wan's immovable object from two opponents who had a lifetime to know each other and were essentially stalemated in terms of technique. But everything else was Anakin showboating off his power and attempting to win specifically from Force attrition to show decisively how superior he was. Anakin was enjoying grinding away at Obi Wan, having a good time unleashing his emotions at his former master and thought he had pretty much won by that point.
Then came Obi Wan's taunt and Anakin, in his unlimited confidence, just took the bait without thinking at all and lost his limbs. Simple as. Obi Wan won, not through dueling technique or Force strength, but by essentially calling Anakin a pussy and saying "you won't do it bro!" Basically he won because of how well he knew Anakin.
don't try it
Obi Wan was his master so he knew Anakin's fighting style well and had the perfect counter in the highly defensive Form 3. Anakin's highly aggressive style either requires someone to finish the fight quickly or to have vast stamina to keep it going. Kenobi merely outlasted him by conserving his energy while playing defensively until Anakin's power waned and he was no longer able to jump high enough to overcome Obi-Wan's high ground.
>massreplygays
should be a bannable offense
Is it not? Report them for spamming/flooding or low quality post
Because he did the moronic barrerroll jump.
Obi wan used that move and knew its weak point from the first movie fight
>It's over Anakin! I have the high ground!
The film literally spells it out for you and you're still confused? How moronic are you?
He wasn't fully in the darkside. It was a fight between someone with a severe inner conflict and someone with a one-pointed focus on killing Vader.
You can be a genius in one field and still frick up in the heat of a moment. Lots of distractions for him here:
>whole world turned upside down
>just choked his pregnant wife
>fricking pissed
>barely hovering above lava, hot as frick
>close fight to the death against best friend
They outright tell you. Obi Wan had the High Ground. Anything else is moronic nerd speak about lightsaber forms or armchair psychology
Obiwan understood that he can't beat him in fair fight (the infamous swinging scene and double force push), so he tries to lure anakin into a trap, knowing his mind is clouded with anger.
He does acrobatics on these pillars, hoping anakin will slip up literally and figuratively. The pillars then drop into lava and obiwan succeedes by sending anakin in the lavafall. But he escapes because he's just that good
Then he takes the highground and wins. I unironically think this is the greatest fight in films, it's much more thought out that "tense and emotional" drunk fight in rotj nerds keep jerking to
He's the StrONgeSt FOrcE USeR EVER!!! in much the same way that only a few Jedi survived the purge he led after Order 66. It's just one of the Things George Claimed before canon became more solid.
I think it's a given that any of the force users from the Old Republic would gank him pretty quickly: Revan and the Exile certainly would.
90% of those characters get raped. Yoda, Mace, Anakin, Luke etc are among the most powerful Jedi ever. Sidious is the most powerful Sith Lord.
he got to wienery and angry which obi wan knew he would eventually become so he just waiting until he fricked up a bit and boom he is now a cripple
He was destined to lose because Sheev fricked up and created a paradox in the prophecy by influencing him
