I remember wondering who asked for him. Cyborg and Superboy Prime were cool tho.

I remember people thinking th4e GLC is just plain fricked. Since SBP was capable of taking the whole group out by himself. Now he has Parallax (who could also solo the GLC) another Superman (who soloed Apokolips) and the Antimonitor at the same time.

Isn't that a bad sign? Since you'd think
      >oh they're just going to scrub out and it'll cheapen the threat of the characters

I think the going rumor was that the JLA would get involved and the whole thing would turn into Superman vs Sinestro, sidelining Hal and the other lanterns.

I remember marathoning all of the lantern corps saga over a decade ago. The Anti-Monitor showed up, and I didn't know who he was, nor particularly cared.

Man the Sinestro Corp was stacked. Almost too stacked.

The Sinestro Corps was an absolute stable. If this was wrestling, they'd be the nWo.

They were too stacked, that's why half of them got dealt with offscreen. Prime kinda stole the show by the end, as he often does.

Prime was the one that got rid of the Antimonitor. He was not really much help to the team.

It's weird how they have never been worth a shit ever again. Ever since 2011 ish it just looke like Sinestro and about 30 guys looking to park their central battery somewhere and always needing to relocate.

They could have at least kept Henshaw and the Manhunters.

It doesn't help that a lot of writers want them to be NOT THAT BAD HONESTLY.

Sinestro was enough to carry them.

Around 2016 Bekka was their heavyweight.. still nowhere near their 2009 levels but it was something.

Seemed like the first time there was an evil team that was on the level of the JLA, and an actual cohesive evil guy team with similar goals. Not just a collection of totally random villains, half of which have no business being near each other at all like all the Injustice Gangs and Secret Societies.

Also looked like the GLC was not up to the task of handling these guys at all. People were afraid it was going to turn into Superman coming in and saving the GLC in the big GL event crossover.

I actually liked the idea of the evil lantern corps being headed up by a similar enough big bad cosmic horror to rival the Guardias. And their base was Qward, the planet in the same spot as Oa in the antimatter universe. Things should have remained like that. The Sinestros as the lantern corps patrolling Qward and occasionally some would pop over to the positive matter universe and start trouble.

We flipped our shit, because we thought if he ever came back, it would be in Infinite Crisis, but he wasn’t.
We never saw it coming , because why would Superboy Prime team up with the Anti-Monitor, who destroyed his universe.

Although it does make sense for Sinestro and the Anti Monitor to team up since they are both based on the same planet and have the Weaponers as their personal minions. Antimonitor lending his powers to the building of a whole yellow battery and actual decent copies of GLC rings, something no one else has ever been able to accomplish, makes some sense. And lanterns make for better minions than guys who toss lightning bolts at people or shadow demons.

It felt soulless, as by that point DC had tapped out the "Crisis" magic.

Nah, it was the last time and only time DC had a good crisis event.

That page was hype and set the tone for the craziness of the event. There's a reason Sinestro Corps War is so fondly remembered.

Most people thought it was crazy hype. This event alone was probably enough to get the GL movie greenlit and pushed the GL comics to the tops of the dc charts for years.

Honestly wish it was just Cyborg Superman that joined up with Sin. Would've been cool.
