It’s not a matter of being right or wrong, or them being good people, just being able to understand what they feel to drive them
They had their village destroyed, their family slain, seemingly at random. Of course we can see how they were asking for trouble eventually but the show doesn’t pretend that their way of life, while wrong, meant that they are mindless or devoid of emotions, and those emotions allow the audience to connect to them in the same way as Spear and Fang, Lula, and Kamau: the experience of loss and what these people do in the aftermath
