Keeping it simple, centered around a few characters, making it realistic by making the aliens win in the end because they were simply impossible to defeat.
You think that's bad, try this remake, also featuring dad sutherland, which goes back to an earlier source
or don't, and you'd be making a smart play.
I only watched it the other day because I was plumbing the depths of David S. Goyer's screenplay output
>impossible to defeat.
They get defeated by the npcs they took over chaining them to pointless monotony. The movie gives some candid glimpses into what the replaced people do once there's no one left to replace, they just mull around mindlessly mimicking their originals old routines. The implication is both species eventually go extinct because the aliens don't know how to do anything but spread and humans aren't ideal hosts.
From what Im reading he stepped away from acting for his mental health. Hes raising his kids and has a beautiful wife. Sounds like a much better life than being a celebrity beholden to the whims of woke twitter mobs and the Chinese State. Good for him.
I was a teen from 08 to 14/15. It was fricking gay then too. Don't worry, when we're both way older we'll proba- nah. It sucked. It's all just gonna get worse.
Being a teen then was fricking amazing. We had the wonders of the internet without any wokeness or normie shit.
homosexual was a standard insult, so was the n-word. Fricking ytmnd memes. No outrage constantly. Such a brief time when it all felt like true freedom. Then internet became less of a "nerd thing" and more mainstream.

>mid 30's or 40's boomers wanking off their nostalgia
lmao
it was great but when it was just the two of them running around it was boring just to do a showcase montage of weird things the aliens were doing and it shows

i have no clue why this is considered a good remake

That's an interesting take. I thought they keep all the host's memories but are only devoid of emotions.
No idea, but it’s still one of the creepiest movies I’ve ever seen.
Followed the perspective of the character with no omniscient narration.

Yeah I've been searching for copes but Ive had to conclude that sometimes a shitty experience is nothing other than just shitty.

I remember the scene with all of them snifing coke because it was the weakness of the monster
>this caused boomers to absolutely shit themselves
I can't believe these people put a man on the moon, they're so stupid
How did the pod people duplicate humans? They can just take the energy from a human nearby without touching or what?
Sutherland and goldblum being awesome, plus b***hing practical effects like dog masks.
What's her name?
and by her I mean the dog
I make sure to rewatch this movie when it gets replayed every October. Comfy tradition.
