Unironically this. Watching the journos try to dodge and weave when the gender breakdown came out and men turned out more for this movie than women was funny. Disney needs to stop listening to troons LARPing as women on the internet. Women dont give a frick about manchild capeshit
>men turned out more for this movie than women
And of course men were still blamed for failure because feminists are dishonest miserable perpetual ingrates who will never be satisfied
The movie wasn't bad. It was your standard marvel MCU movie but with women, good team up. Still think that the movie would've benefit from Kamala using her original powers.
At least Ragnarok is controversial because people either really love it or really hate it. That's the kind of conversation we can have about movies and art in general. The Marvels doesn't give you that. In our push for broad appeal we've ended up with aggressive mediocrity.

Ragnarok or Love and Thunder? I thought everyone liked Ragnarok, it was Love and Thunder that pissed people off and started this trend where even normies are over the MCU.

Ragnarok, even. People were super critical of it online, but I've asked around a wide variety of people and they didn't like it either.

I hate Taika Waititi as much as the next guy but >Ragnarok actually had some good action scenes. I may not like what was done to Planet Hulk in terms of the plot, but the Thor vs Hulk fight itself is miles better than anything in The Marvels. >Hela is a much better villain than whatshername. She wasn't a good villain, mind you. Just better than >Thor Ragnarok doesn't have a fricking musical planet
Now I'll go take a shower, I feel dirty for praising Waititi, even in comparison to something shittier.
>What eve happens in this movie?
Disgruntled Kree soldier gets a power band (that activated Kamala powers) and starts siphoning planted to rebuild the Kree Planet. The power band also fricked up Captain Marvel, Photon, and Ms. Marvels powers so they would switch positions when. Their powers would activate causing hijinks to ensure. So the the ladies have to team up and defeat the disgruntled Kree soldier before it's too kate. Oh and Captain Marvels cat is pregnant
Yeah but ever since her rebranding Carol doesn't really have anything of her own (not that she had much beyond rape and alcoholism before) and Gunn already used Phylla so I guess Quasar isn't going to be a thing in the MCU.
Does the Ms. Marvel series explain how she knows so much about Captain Marvel? Because if you watch just the movie, here's this teenage girl that's obsessed about a hero that, at most, is only publicly known for her very short involvement in the Thanos fight outside the Avengers HQ.
The only official source on the existence of Captain Marvel that exists is Scott's book, that must be the most descriptive book in the history of humanity, although it is still doubtful because Scott barely spoke to her.
It just makes more sense in the comics because Carol had actually been around and in the public eye.
But the movies fricked up and made her like this secret publicly invisible proto avenger who spent most of her career in space and only showed back up during big events where she wouldn't stick out in the crowd.
So she should essentially have the same level of exposure on earth as like Mantis.
All the Avengers, even the Guardians, are celebrities (or more accurately "cultural icons", because someone like Falcon would be able to get a loan no problem if he was considered a celebrity) after Endgame.
Doesn't matter that Carol wasn't around much, or that the Guardians left Earth as soon as they could; there's still people cosplaying Drax and selling Groot merch in a convention in the Ms. Marvel show.
Hell, there's in-world documentaries about the Snap, and even Infinity Gauntlet-themed ice cream shops. The whole thing is a cultural sensation.
How? I suppose there was a lot of footage of the final battle, and also Scott's book telling everything that happened.
Honest Take
The pacing was good
The story was horrendous
Everyone was annoying except for the black chick.
The over all quality is early 2000's disney think of Camp Rock, HSM
It should have just been in Netflix and write it off as a tax expense.
Nothing happened that was interesting enough for it to be hated or to be shill for, which is the worse possible scenario
Apathy is the killer of franchises.
This.
The villain being a nothing burger didn’t help either. The comic source fans want to go to these movies also to see the big bad from their child hood stories. Instead the Marvels taking a fleeting background character from decades ago and try to present them as Carol’s arc enemy instead of a Moonstone or Ripley Ryan
These characters are not interesting. And because there's no grander plan for them that integrates them into a greater storyline like first 3 phases, it doesn't get the people who would watch it just to keep up with the overall narrative.
I still have no idea why plebbitors look at Ms. Marvel and claim that she's a resounding success, simply because her show was "highly rated" but is the lowest-rated MCU show ever.
>shit movie >sequel to another shit movie >expects you to have also watched two shows no one has watched >all while people are done with marvel’s shit
I know this is a bait thread but it isn’t that deep
>kamala khan >comic books: flop >videogame: flop >tv show: flop >movie: flop
This character is extremely popular, you guys. I think she needs to be the leader of the Young Avenger movies going forward.
>carol danvers >comic books: flop >video game: flop >actress: unpopular >movie: propped up by infinity war/endgame
this character is popular and should be the face of the MCU
>Team up movie between 3 characters barely anyone cares about >The people who do care about them are all the same people so there's zero multiplier effect
They thought they could just slap the 'Marvel' brand name on any stale shit and get people to throw a billion dollars at it. Turns out they were wrong. Live and learn.
The girl they got to play kamala is fat and looks like a mehican, brie has less curves than a skinny thirteen year old boy, monica is an annoying c**t people on Twitter only claim to like because of her melanin count and people don’t want to pay to see it anymore.
Women went to see Taylor swift and Barbie, two feminine and scantily clad figures meanwhile they refuse to hire someone to play Carol who won’t scoff at the black unitard.
Turns out when Carol isn't wedged in between the two biggest movies in the MCU and marketed as an essential watch to understand the finale to a 10 year long arc, most people don't give a frick about her, the black best friend that turned out to be an Evil Wanda apologist, and a mudslime from a show nobody watched.
I for one thank Feige for making a bomb so massive that all the Caroltrannies got banished back to that fricking general the troony jannies keep protecting.
>the Flash
Cut and recut mess of a movie that was only the latest installment of a failing movie franchise, embroiled in controversy because the lead actor went cocoa puffs and declared himself a they/them before kidnapping a woman and child.
>The Marvels
Frick if I know, Mouseketeers will usually eat any old slop they're offered.
I can't think of anything related to the plot that people even discuss, other than the fact that it ripped off Spaceballs. Otherwise, all discussion surrounding this movie is how much it bombed.
Women

Teenage girls PACKED the theater for Endgame and Infinity War.
Women liked the MCU when it was full of fujobait
This is so true, women don't wanna see strong female characters, they wanna see gay ships. Girls support girls is a myth
How can they know the gender of their audience, is there any proofs?
The movie wasn't bad. It was your standard marvel MCU movie but with women, good team up. Still think that the movie would've benefit from Kamala using her original powers.
No one was interested enough to even care if it was good or bad.
>The movie wasn't bad.
>It was your standard marvel MCU movie
Either/or
>Either/or
Two things can be true. It's not fricking black and white.
If the movie isn't bad, it's a I've a average for a marvel movie though.
But anon, the average marvel movie is a bad movie...
go back to sucking dicks on reddit
but anon, you are the one defending marvel trash...
He's already there, this is all but reddit without karma.
Man average means average. A bad marvel movie is Ragnarok. Which the Marvels was not.
An average is relative to it's set.
The set in the case, is other Marvel movies.
>The set in the case, is other Marvel movies
Which are, on average, bad movies
average marvel movie then:
average marvel trash now:
Ragnarok is better than this movie

aren't power bands quasar's thing?
Yeah but ever since her rebranding Carol doesn't really have anything of her own (not that she had much beyond rape and alcoholism before) and Gunn already used Phylla so I guess Quasar isn't going to be a thing in the MCU.
You ever see Spaceballs?
That.
I didn't watch it, how was Monica? It seems nobody cares about her
Too covered by her suit
Needed to show more skin
Monica was fine. Her thing was that she had a slight hangup with Carol. But ultimately got over it.
>How did this happen?
- Sequel to meh movie.
- stars two characters you know nothing about unless you watched TWO (2) TV shows.
- movie itself is bad
A clear case of the studio losing their audience. How do we appeal to the main demo which are the 12-25 something boys.
>I know, lets have our Summer Blockbuster Action movie star 3 frumpy looking women who will remind those boys of their mothers/sisters.
Fricking genius.
Not putting Monica in the Duster. Damn she needed some Next Wave.
Watched it and was too distracted by the black girl's fat ass.

yes, thank you genius, for just saying the same thing I already said, but longer.
Why did you even ask then
Why do you gotta be mean? He was trying to help you
No, it relies on accusing anyone that asks that question of misogyny.

Kamala is obsessed with Carol in particular.
>out-assed by black sidekick
>out-jiggle-titted by brown sidekick
I just don't like feminist anti-male movies.
Carol's fanbase 41'd themselves between movies
DEI force diversity + ESG by Blackrock etc
This is proof that carolfans are just paid shill AI bots
I bet its just one guy maning the desk and botting the replies
They ran the brand into the ground and kept trying to dig.
my bad, i thought the text on this was the "how to say I'm sorry, and how to say I'm very sorry"
No problem dude

>Moonstone or Ripley Ryan
Who?
See link
>Quantumania, Multiverse Madness, Love and Thunder fail
wow, these movie sucks
>The Marvels fail
wow, women suck
like clockwork, it's like the existence of women is a sin in of itself.
>The Marvels movi
You literally forgot that they made a Shang Chi movie
>Multiverse Madness, Love and Thunder fail
They didn't, though.
Thor 4 underperformed
Disney did not buy all the tickets for this one like they did for the one before
These characters are not interesting. And because there's no grander plan for them that integrates them into a greater storyline like first 3 phases, it doesn't get the people who would watch it just to keep up with the overall narrative.

The Marvels
Disney/Marvel
Net Loss: -$237M
The Flash
Warner Bros/DC Studios
Net Loss: -$155M
Wow what a close second... almost 100 mil dollars of difference
After making fun of the Flash so much they can't make it seem like it was a way lesser failure than Carol.

Disney forgot the first film was astroturfed.
If the most beautiful woman in the movie is the waxy bland wino b***h with a receding hairline and hideous satyr feet, you're in trouble.
They should have focused on Monica instead of Kamala. Also should have shown more of her big juicy butt.
Disney will shrug off The Marvels.
The financial and reputational damage done by the Flash really marks the End of WBD as a viable enterprise.
>doesn't know the ratio they just suffered from Mufasa
Because the character sucks ass and the first one only made money because the franchise was on a roll?
They thought they could just slap the 'Marvel' brand name on any stale shit and get people to throw a billion dollars at it. Turns out they were wrong. Live and learn.
It's funny because Captain Marvel is binary, but Ezra Miller is non-binary.
No one cares about this fricking nothing of a character! They keep pushing and pushing but it hasn't and won't work.
The girl they got to play kamala is fat and looks like a mehican, brie has less curves than a skinny thirteen year old boy, monica is an annoying c**t people on Twitter only claim to like because of her melanin count and people don’t want to pay to see it anymore.
