The villains were boring and uninspired. The writing in general was pretty lackluster. The sheer force of Lois/Clark carried the whole thing, and when the plot tried to focus on something else it just lost its audience.

          Anonymous

It just proves that people these days are not capable of media literacy.
I'll even add onto that. It proves that people nowadays aren't capable of nuance either.

            Anonymous

            How?

              Anonymous

Because the reaction to the Lois jump scene has been, well, reactionary. People thinking with their rage and need to hate on something instead of actually thinking about it and actually taking in the nuance of the scene.
People think that everything has to be black and white but fail to see the nuance that makes the situation gray.
People nowadays are more inclined to follow what other people think, and if someone thinks negatively about something then people will follow that negativity.
It's what happened to the Lois scene. Some guy on Twitter who was against the show from the very beginning showed thousands of people the clip out of context, by removing the context from the scene. The guy deliberately went out of his way to make the scene, and by extent, the show he hated from the start, to look as bad as possible.
And people just ate it up, taking what that guy said verbatim without question, without thinking about it for themselves, without watching the show for themselves and without coming to their own conclusion.
People just looked at that tweet and started raging. For comparison it's like how in the early 2010s whenever an autistic reviewer would shit on something they hated their audience would attack that something without question and without experiencing it for themselves.
Same thing happened with the League of Lois stuff. One clip on Twitter and then thousands just assumed that they were making Lois into a multiversal hero.

Exactly. You're actually chill about it and that's what people lack nowadays.

More people just discuss the show elsewhere, compared to here

Twitter is no worse then this board. People are just as willing to overreact and make assmonkeys of themselves. The only difference is there are names and in general more posts on a given topic. This isn't a defense of twitter, its just that the quality of the board as just dropped that far.

What part of Superman's base character necessitates multiverse shit?

          Anonymous

His character doesn't involve it at all, I think it's unnecessary too but the executives feel like shilling it fricking everywhere for some reason, so I doubt they were given a choice. Either way though, if they HAD to involve multiverse shit, they should've made it a side-plot to a normal episode or something, wasting an episode when they only have 10 on that was kinda annoying (but not nearly as bad as some people say, at least imo)

Don't forget Scene dyke Livewire and man-jaw Volcana. No amount of shilling would ever make those changes Ok. Still, I think Myxy got the worst downgrade of them all.

The thing is he and others like him have been saying that Heatwave is Volcana because they know people, especially here, like Volcana and think she's hot and would (rightfully) be pissed if it was her that got the ugly redesign, and they know nobody gives a shit about a literally who Flash villain getting genderswapped so they play into the former to get (You)s and disingenuously drum up hatred.

This mostly. The Lois and Clark relationship was the best part of the whole show, whilst everything else was severely underbaked. Why do you think there's no discussion or fan art on any of the other characters in the show besides Lois Lane and Superman? Because that was the only part of the show that was written well enough for people to become invested in. Once the show was over, there wasn't anything anyone wanted to discuss since nobody really cares about the other characters or the non-romance side of the plot.

                >what if captain america was a woman
It's what if Peggy Carter got the super soldier serum and a version of her dies in Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness, along with a black woman and a latino man.
                >what if starlord was black
What if T'Chala was StarLord. An episode where his crew is all white coded, with the only exception being the black guy who get turned into a doofus and the villain is gay coded as well.
                >what if wakanda killed tony stalk
What if Killmonger saved Tony. Killmonger, who's portrayed as the villain, who also kills T'Chala as well as get many other black people killed and ends up getting imprisoned in a multiversal ball thing.
                >what if ultron killed every straight white male and strong wyman black widow surived because "women > white men"
The entire universe gets killed including every minority that ever existed. Black Widow also wouldn't have gotten as far as she did without Hawkeye who does more to take down Ultron than she did.
And lets not forget the zombie episode where the majority of survivors were white men, one of them, Brice Banner, being the most heroic of the group, the whole zombie apocalypse being started by the incompetence of a woman and how two of the final three survivors are white guys.
All you have against it is your own misconstruing and looking to deep into it all.

Because it was made by dykes and gays, while superhero comics are made for boys, to fulfill boys fantasies, hot women as girlfriends, and hot female villains, all sexy and male and female villains that make the hero overcome himself and the hero always being masculine and straight, that's the soul of comics and here it's all been reverted to something banal, gay, ugly.

You don't understand. Everything needs a 24/7 general thread with a constant flow of content to enable social media engagement to be considered successful. Also if a show can't be condensed into a one panel meme or 5 second clip that clearly identifies the takeaway lesson and the entirety of each character's moral position and all the lore then it's too complicated. Frick this current day media fandom hellscape.

Because if it's not good enough to be talked about all the time then it's probably not good. Shit like Friends and Seinfeld where talked about all the time even when the seasons where over and are massive and classic hits. Media that doesn't have staying power means people don't give a shit about it to keep watching when the next season starts.

It's hard to speculate on cause it's implicitly it own thing so we don't know what DC characters will show up, how they'll be used, or how they will be different from their mainstream forms.
