Dragon Ball peaks with the death of King Piccolo. It's the first time it truly feels the fate of the entire world (Earth) it's truly at stake and Goku defeats him in epic fashion. The show becomes repetitive after that, but it's addictive. Being able to resurrect people also gets old and lame. No one actually ~dies~ in the series, ever.
Literally the end of that series, dipshit. Of course it peaks there
he said king Piccolo not Piccolo Jr you silly dummy
> No one actually ~dies~ in the series, ever.
Stopped reading there
Raditz never came back.
The namekians vegeta killed never came back.
Android 16 never came back.
I didn't, it's overrated millennial slop for hispanics and turd worlders
Funny story about that. The year was 2005 or so. I saw DBZ Buu's Fury (GBA) in a Walmart clearance bin and it was super cheap. Decided frick it, looks cool. Played through all of it and loved it. The game basically tells you the entire story so that I didn't even really need to watch the anime (though, these days, I am trying to watch it all).
Then went on to play the others. Budokai (original), Budokai Tenkaichi, Budokai Tenkaichi 2, etc.
Wrong board
STFU loser, normal people are talking.
>Hispanic apes
>people
Before I watched it, I would joke around with my friend about how the ads made it seem like they were all constipated.
Then I watched some DBZ and enjoyed it, went back and watched through DB, too.
>how did you get into DB?
by watching it on tv since Italian tv didn't have that many channel bac then and the only channel which aired cartoons at lunch time broadcasted Dragonball all the time
>which series did you start first?
Dragon Ball with kid Goku since that's what was broadcasted first
Feels like a hundred years ago, but my brother and I used to watch Dragon Ball on Fox way early in the morning. We had no idea that it was part of a larger story. Then in 6th grade, my friend introduced DBZ to me. He used to live in Okinawa, and moved around a lot because his dad was in the Marines or something.
Similar here, just happened to catch it premier on a weekend early in the morning on channel 17 back in the mid 90s. It was never advertised.
Didn't. Pedo show. Anyone that likes it is a victim of child mollestation and needs to be quarantined to prevent them passing it on.
That's a new one
> vegeta looking at gohan with the pedo face.jpg
Watched Z first, then DB, and then read the manga. I wish started reading and watching Goku’s adventures as a kid first. Goku’s death against raditz and being a father would’ve hit harder if I knew his journey as a child. Watching Z first, he’s just a random guy you’re introduced to.
Watched DBZ on Toonami, like pretty much every other millennial
I was flipping channels as a kid and landed on a Lithuanian channel that was airing Dragon Ball Z. Watched it every day to the point I learned Lithuanian and could speak the basics and understand most of it.
It was my favorite thing ever as a kid. It's a damn shame it doesn't hold up for (non-shitskin) adults. Trying to watch it as an adult was painful.
What’s better the DB manga or the anime?
Anime
Manga
manga but the anime is good
Manga obviously, the pacing is much better in the Manga. Yet somehow I think I still enjoyed the anime more, very nostalgic show.
Manga
Colored manga with anime ost. Also watch some of the movies and specials
I saw Dragon Ball during the era of Sailor Moon and Ronin Warriors airing on US TV in the mid/late 90s. Later I watched the series fansubs. Never got into DBZ. But the original Dragon Ball still has a place in my heart.
saw it on the international channel in japanese when i was a wee lad then saw it again on toonami later when i was older.
t. 33yo boomer with Jap wife and kids.
elliot roger ha-ha yeah okay.
RIP akira
I've only read the manga. I don't like anime.

you're literally going around all topics and boards seething. you're the only moron ive seen use the word latrinx ever in my life. seriously, look up the word latrinx in archives and it's the same guy. you must be a sad sack of shit. who hurt you? if anything you're projecting and you're a troony latin.
this is funny i was right, this guy calls himself a mexigod and latrinx once in a while but then has schizo spergouts and self hates. what a weird fricking guy... i know you're probably spooked that i can see your posts lol
>latrinx monkey is confused by the archives
embarrassing post
>look up the word latrinx in archives and it's the same guy
You know that there is no IDs here, right /misc/spic? Wtf are you even babbling about? Typical Black person brain confusing its opinion with facts.
>/pol/
Are they here with us right now? Pattern recognition, rings a bell?
Ok ape
I read the original manga a couple of years ago. To be totally honest, it's dogshit compared to One Piece, Naruto, CSM and JJK. Toriyama is a terrible writer that can't plan ahead.
I was like 8 years old when I found it on Toonami.
It was one of the episodes where Nappa is beating the shit out of everyone.
I was instantly hooked. I'd never seen a show like that before.
Western cartoons were sanitized as hell and episodic. And the only anime I'd seen up to that point was Pokemon.
Black person
I wasn't allowed to watch DBZ when I was kid.
I got into it later through Abridged and I feel cringey about it.
It was on tv when I was a kid, they probably kept rerunning the original and Z then back again. I got lucky when I watched it for the first time, it was one of the early episodes of the original series. Z probably lasted all through middle school, and then they aired GT for the first time but I only watched that on and off because high school.
im marathoning all of DBZ through the cell games for Cinemaphile
come by swimelodeon.com and check it out guys, chat about toriyama and enjoy.
Watch from the very beginning of the OG series up until the end of the Frieza arc. Do fricking not skip the OG series, if you do you're a homosexual. Also watch Kai so you skip the filler.
I watched it after school when I was a kid. Luckily they started showing DB first
Take it to >>>Cinemaphile homosexual.
Go back to your disney or marvelslop thread homosexual
MY SKIN IS COLD
This show brainwashed young boys to act like autists. Anime killed the western man
How? It inspired a lot of boys to get into martial arts, lifting and sports in general
No it didn't.
it did, myself included
>turn on cartoon network to watch muh western toons
>what the frick, this isn't Dexter's Lab
>fighting breaks out and a character literally dies
>glued to the screen the entire time
I had never seen anything like it
I'm White
Subhuman, be gone
I watched Kai on tv as a teenager. Yeah I was late to the game.
underage b&
>the deranged schizo at it again
I watched it when Toonami played DB and DBZ. I'm pretty sure I saw DBZ first. I've only watched those two. I like DB best but the nostalgia hits hardest for DBZ. I like everything leading up to Buu/Cell but don't really like that actual part. Future Trunks was really cool, though.
>goku isn't as-
Goku is an alien, sir.
Want to get into db where do i start?
The manga
WTF Goku died?
I tried watching it in the 1990s when i was a teenager absolutely obsessed with anime.
Even then i couldn't stand it because it was 90% filler.
The live action show Monkey Magic was a much better adaptation of Journey to the West.
> watched it in the 90s
> 90% filler
> hello fellow school kids.jpg
Nobody here is falling for your bullshit.
I was maybe 12/13 and had a crush on a boy who was obsessed with it.
He asked to watch it when he came over to my house because he didn’t want to miss the story. It was the Freiza Saga airing for the first time on Cartoon Network and I had never seen anime before much less a cartoon with an ongoing plot and lore.
There’s like 29 characters spread across 3 planets; some are dead, some are aliens, they all have different relationships with each other and different martial arts and techniques and uniforms. I’d never seen anything like it.
It blew my mind and I was instantly hooked. We were the only kids in school who watched it and used to gossip about our theories of what was coming next week. One kid heard us talking about “Trunks” and asked if he was an elephant, I was in stitches.
I remember we found pictures of Vegito vs Buu and SSJ4 Goku vs Baby on the old net like a year later while the Cell saga was airing. There was no context of what we were looking at on the website and it was like a religious experience. The show looked so different and it was like we’d been given the gift of prescience without the tools to understand what we were seeing.
Thanks Toriyama.
DBZ on Toonami
Didn't have toonami growing up, was introduced to it by a friend in school who owned a lot of the series on vhs/dvd and would watch it at his place after school. After that I remember my brother and I would rent the shitty movies and watch them but I thought they were the coolest thing ever at the time. Later on when I was 12-13 I got into reading the manga starting from the beginning of dragon ball. I read the first saga yesterday in one sitting after hearing the news RIP
Never seen this cartoon as I'm white european, but enjoying watching the latinx and black community actually talking about murdering each other on X over whether or not a character called Mr Poopoo was racist or not.
go back, shitter troony
I first saw DBZ on Cartoon Network in the early 2000s then on Toonami where I also saw GT as well as shows like Tenchi Muyo and Gundam Wing. I've been watching Dragonball recently.
no one cares, spic
What? It's a thread asking that very question.
My shoes are dirty again, jose. Log off 4chud and get to work
>watch dbz on tv after school
>20 minute episode
>literally nothing happens
NEXT TIME ON DRAGON BALL Z
>This
I could never get into DBZ as a kid because of this. I did pick it up from the end of the Frieza saga when it aired again on Toonami in like 2014 or something though and then watched DBS. Dragon Ball is terribly written but Toriyama is such an astounding trend setter with such amazing ideas that it doesn't even matter if he implemented them all terribly, it's still fun to watch. He basically invented what cool even is in anime and the entire shonen battle genre is just other peoples attempts at writing DBZ.
The DBZ Tenkaichi games eplains the story better while being fun and faster paced, but yeah the show drags on a little.
The two specials (Bardock and Trunks) hold up though
Doesn't the DBZ Kai series leave out all the filler?
It's not a story heavy series, even without the filler it drags on a little, and Kai doesn't have the same OST or voice acting.
suptv dot org all db dbz
I would watch OG DB when I would visit family in Mexico as a little ass kid, 8 maybe? Later Z came to the U.S. and eventually hit Toonami, I'm sure you know the deal from that point on.
Is Super any good?
damn Trunks looks like THAT?!
gross
>Mass of shapeless fat
This is nasty. No tone definition or anything. Just a huge garbage bag of blubber
Wow. Akira Toriyamama just died . Be nice
I saw DBZ a few times in the morning in the mid 90s, but I prefer Dragon Ball.
Cartoon network. Me and my friend were mad that it always stopped at the same part on Namek. Then one day it didn't and it kept going. Then we realized if we bought the VHS cassettes we could see new episodes early so we became best friends with the Asian in our class who would buy that. He was also the only person I ever met that owned a Sega Saturn
I didn't, I'm not a brown immigrant and my father isn't an alcoholic janitor
So you're a worthless unlovable piece of garbage and probably a stupid pakistani???
I saw the second Broly movie first
First show I saw was Z on Toonami and it was the episode where Cell fricking drained a fat dude.
Shit fricked me up as a kid.
Started with OG Dragon Ball. Watched it on broadcast TV because back in the 90s, Mexico would air DB and DBZ on over-the-air channels.
I've been watching this show my entire life. I cant believe I'm crying for someone I dont even personally know, but the series Toriyama created has touched millions of people.
upn was it and some other local channel? db had a ton of soul but was too slow for me coming from the cell saga
First one I saw was dragon ball Z at my friend's house but because we lived in Serbia all we had was a dragon ball and i always hated watching it because it wasn't as cool as dragon ball Z
pero que quieren los hues del siglo xxi?????? los latinx son mestizos (Blacks putos)
>Robotech was cancelled on Toonami and replaced with DBZ
>didn’t like it at first then started watching it
>became obsessed
>friends would play DBZ at school and ki blast each other at lunch
>watch until Raditz would show up again and knew I had a long time before episodes
>would go to the public library to use their computers to look up random websites that had basically fan fiction about what happens next.
>made friends with the weird kid who’s mom would buy the tapes, so we started watching the new episodes before they came out.
>he also claimed there was some “uncut” version that had piccolo fricking gohan
>also had broadband before everyone else and would go to weird porn sites and show us.
>was israeli
https://gematriaeffect.news/dragon-ball-creator-akira-toriyama-dies-at-68-march-8-2024-news/
>started with Z in middle school
>watched until goku died but got bored out of it during those training episodes
>early 20s, started with DB and went all the way up to Namek but got bored out of it again (it was the Ginyu switching with Goku episode)
>late 20s
>continued from where I left off and finished Z (this time without subs because I was learning Japanese at the time)
it was literally a life-long journey for me
watch db and then dbz then stop
Stop after Z and Wrath of The Dragon. Super is dogshit.
Read DB when it was in my school library in elementary school, great manga.
Tried to watch DBZ in middle school and noticed I wasted two hours worth of maybe the equivalent of maybe four chapters in the manga, never watched it again.
DBZ on CN around '99 and then dragonball way later
