What's the point of praying if God can already read your thoughts and it's obvious anyway that you don't want your house and family destroyed by natural disasters? God just enjoys hearing you beg and plead?

      Anonymous

God wants to have a relationship with humans while also affording us free will. Prayer allows us to speak with God in order to maintain that relationship while also giving us the ability to request he intercede of our behalf at times. God allows evil and death to exist in the world because he wants us to have free will and that necessitates he remain hidden from us. Of an all powerful deity we’re floating in the sky for all to see, then by default everyone would be forced to obey him like robots out of fear.

This cookie-cutter nothing explanation doesn't fit into the question of why I have to beg God not to send natural disasters to destroy my home and family. Has nothing to do with "free will" you Black personhomosexual.

God created the world and was fully aware of everything happening on it from the dawn of time. God created every natural disaster and has the power to stop them whenever he wants, too. And even if you beg and plead, God still doesn't stop them. Religious people are so fricking moronic and chimp-brained they can't piece together the different pieces of their ideology to understand this. Also, the scripture literally explicitly describes several times where God deliberately sent natural disasters. Have you read your own book?

That was Old Testament god. Anyone who has read the bible knows that New Testament god is written entirely different from Old Testament god.
The New Testament introduces a sort of Biblical Karma where adhering to the divine principles will lead to a good life, as Jesus himself, whom was an extension of God, wished for those who gave themselves to him would be free of suffering and sin in exchange for his own.

Sodom & Gomorrah's God is a whole different creature who will just smite motherfrickers for whatever asinine reason.

This is the heresy of Marcion. Everyone who actually took the time to read The Bible, the people who compiled it and translated it, agreed that God is the same.
Meanwhile Marcion had to forge documents to defend his position.
              They are the same.

No, a god in control of the actual mechanics of reality would be actively creating evil and death by tilting reality in their favor by limiting the will to choosing to murder rather than choosing immortality.

I said in a metaphysical sense.

You see, god is all knowing, all-present, and all powerful, so he created Adam and Eve, and told them not to eat the apple, which he knew they were going to do anyways, because he created them to do it, but he didn't want them to do, so when they ate it, he punished them by making them die, because they should have known better than to do the thing that he knew they were going to do already because he already knows everything.

He foreordained that they would do it so that he could glorify himself through the punishment of the reprobate and the salvation of his elect.

lol, frick off with your pseudo Cinemaphile starter pack philosophy knowledge. You know fully well that metaphysics is just as bullshit as your god and theology isn’t 2000 years of answers but 2000 years of excuses for contradictions to very simple questions. The question of why evil exists is perfect in refuting Christianity in a single swipe, as it cannot be answered in a straight forward manner while still believing god is who he is. Read the Old Testament again and really think about what you are reading, I’ve read the damn book probably a dozen times because of my upbringing so I know it well, and I know all the excuses. Stop wasting your time by worshipping a North Korean leader in spiritual form.

                Anonymous

He has to as a baseline, otherwise he is not worthy of worship. This will just be another circular argument in which you use the tired free will excuse, yet have to admit that a world with free will and without evil at the same time is impossible for god to create (which contradicts the concept of god). If it is possible and he chose to create the world with evil instead; he is evil himself. I wish you would convince me as I was happier when I had hope of eternal life.

                Anonymous

I don't believe in free will in the sense that you mean it. God is not dependent upon you finding him "worthy" of anything. The idea is laughable.

Christianity uses basically the exact same terminology and symbolism when it comes to the divide of "the world" and the Kingdom of Christ, it also works better as an allegory for living in sin and being born again since living in the real world is harsh and full of struggle while living in sin is easy but unfulfilling.

Without looking it up the person who invented different types of plant fertalizer and pesticides might have been a priest. One example off the top of my head is faraday. At this point christcucks are responsible for the state nu-Cinemaphile is in. Everytime they appear they derail the thread. They already killed Cinemaphile and /x/ and Cinemaphile is pretty much infested with them as well.

Doing the same with a Bible if you're not religious would be lying, is like making a Christian swear on the Quran or some hindu text

yes like the statement “only falsifiable things are true”. oh wait you can’t falsify that

doesn’t follow, it just means things you can’t assert empirically are true sometimes, like the statement “only empirically verifiable things are true”- you can’t verify that empirically. you are using ideal logic.

Lord Of The Rings is good. It is also inherently influenced by Christianity even if it's meant to be a sort of Pan-European Monomyth to a point. I'm not even Christian but can say it wouldn't be as good a story if it wasn't for the Christian influence that came with JRR Tolkien being a Christian.

God didn’t put us on this earth to have us live in a feelgood chamber where we eat fast food and jerk off all day. Suffering and conflict exist and make us stronger for it, no matter how unfair you think it is

Fair has nothing to do with it unless you bring a objective omnicient presence into the equation.
Without a god things happen and you either get stronger or dont make it. Fair is a meaningless term because there are no moral rules that say anybody is owed anything.
When you bring a creator into the mix now there is agency to all of his creation. Now the concept of fair has a basis. Even if you don't understand it.
      >God didn’t put us on this earth to have us live in a feelgood chamber where we eat fast food and jerk off all day
You really have no idea. Maybe that is all he has planned for you.
Or you could say, "I have to change my behaivior because i hate this and need to overcome my vices." You don't need god for that trial and success or failure.
Do you see what im saying? God is a entity that lets you see rules where there are none. There is only what is and what can be done.
