How do I deal when the only comic shop within an hour is run by a very friendly, but forgetful, old man who leaves stuff off my pull list almost every week?

Hire some masked thugs to beat him up. That's the proper comic book justice.

Learn when he's makes the orders and be there to tell him the pull-list in person?

Complain. Leave bad reviews and find another store to frequent. If you can't handle running a shop then you don't deserve one, hope it closes down so it doesn't inconvenience anyone else

There are no other shops. I have to drive half an hour to even get to this one. And he's a nice old dude but he just writes in a big binder and I guess he overlooks stuff when it's time to put comics in people's stacks. Sometimes I correct him but it happens so frequently that sometimes I just don't have the energy. I think I'm going to go back to getting most of my Marvel and DC books by a mail subscription. At least I can be reasonably sure they'll eventually show up.

        >he's a nice old man
Who gives a shit? You're there to buy comics not make friends if he can't run a business then he doesn't deserve one. Buy your subscription and don't give him another cent

I'm sure hope your father doesn't see you acting like this. I'd be ashamed If my daughter acted like this to honest small business owners

    I'm in the same situation.
I mean there one other place but they close before I get home from work on weekdays.
My guy also pulls random stuff for me that isn't really related to what I read. He's cool about me handing it back though.

I ask him not to give me variant covers, especially not the DC card stock variants that cost a dollar extra. Usually he remembers, but sometimes he forgets, and when I point it out he won't charge me the extra dollar, which I appreciate. I'd still rather have the regular cover though.

You’ve been pulling this larp constantly to shill the direct subscriptions from either DC or Marvel. Blow your homosexual ass brains out. Name the store or you’re LAPRing.

Direct subs give you damaged comics weeks late. It’s not worth it. Stop fricking shilling them you homosexual.

You do get them late, but at least you get them. I wish they showed up on time, but at least the discount softens the blow.

My LCS recently I inherited a bunch of coomer statues (mint in box thankfully) from a dead guy and it's completely changed the vibe of the store. Used to be super kid friendly, specially on free comic day. Can't imagine turn doing that now.

Mine has coomer books off to the side, but they're not exactly hidden. Kids can still see these covers of women in thongs and such.

The statues aren't even sectioned off. There's too fricking many, they fill every corner that isn't occupied by comics. The dude who collected them was serious about this shit.
I never thought people with that taste kept shit in box.

Cant they get rid of it, or were there never kids there to begin with?

They used to have people come in with kid friendly cosplay like Ghost Busters on free comic book day and seemed to get a lot of kids and young families convinced it was a big event.
But they wouldn't really show up any other day.
        I guess this sells more.

I know at my shop it's always a shock when I see kids there. Sad.

For what possible reason do you think someone would be running a propaganda campaign on Cinemaphile to encourage people to subscribe to comic books in the mail?

Convince him to retire and buy out the shop yourself.
