The only good series is TNG. homosexuals on here are going to try to sell you on DS9 but it's really just 5 seasons of black space Jesus managing a space mall but it does get good in the last couple seasons.

I seriously hope a panel pops out of your plane at altitude.

Who would be on said panel? I'm thinking LeVar Burton, Tawny Newsome, Armin Shimmerman, Jeri Ryan, and Robert Duncan McNeill with Todd Stashwick moderating. But why would they be hiding on a plane? Where would they hide, in the overhead compartments?

Start with the TOS movies or with TNG, that's where the majority of trek fans start.

    Star Trek (2009)
    Star Trek Into Darkness
    Star Trek Beyond

    you can ignore everything else

    Start with
    >The Next Generation.
The first two seasons suck, but you need to watch all of them for context.
    >Enterprise
A throwback to humanity's first attempts at space travel and interstellar diplomacy and war.
    >Deep Space Nine
After this, you'll know enough about the lore and everything to explore whatever Trek you want. From TOS to Picard. I wish you good luck and happy viewing.

    What's the most boring series?
I heard there's one where they just walk around the ship and drink coffee. I want to watch that.

That's Voyager, and its premise should make it the most tense trek series but somehow it does end up feeling the least consequential.

put it on pluto while you do other stuff.
after 10 to 15 years watch TOS through ENT by production order.

TNG -> (TNG movies they're all dumb action movies but there's at least one good bit about each of them, skip Nemesis) DS9 -> ENT -> VOY
TOS is easily skippable, but it has actually good movies associated with it and a great cast. Very 60's camp though, basically like S1 & 2 of TNG

At first I started with the original series. It was trash until the episode Balance of Terror. That was pretty good. However there aren't too many episodes like that and the original series isn't all that great.

Then I moved on to TNG. I watched the first episode and cringed so hard I thought I'd never watch that garbage again. However, after a few years I wanted some background noise and started watching random episodes of star trek in the background while doing something else. It was a perfect show for that. Nothing interesting ever happens no matter how hard the captains log intro baits you to think otherwise. And after awhile it kind of grew on me. Like olives or red wine. It's still not actually entertaining but it's kind of enjoyable. There's not that many shows that are like that. Boring in a good way. That's why all those new shows and films fail so hard. They try to be entertaining slop. It just doesn't work.

watch Galaxy Quest and then The Orville.

Watching The Orville before TNG, DS9, and Voyager is actually a good idea, it would seem fresh and original instead of nearly every episode being based on 2 or more Trek episodes.

Lower Decks is the only good Star Wars. It's quirky and has characters I can relate to. The rest is boomerslop I've never even seen.

Sounds accurate for the Lower IQecks fans.

Getting into Star Trek (TNG) should take no effort.
When you've emotionally matured enough in your life, Star Trek TNG will find you.
When you're ready to receive it, it will be like crack cocaine.
I turned 30 and boom, devoured TNG, DS9, and The Orville in the span of 6 months or so.

    TNG>DS9>VOY
I'd even say you can watch the TOS era movies without watching TOS itself, especially 2 and 4. Not only good ST movies, but good movies in general.
