Hello sirs putting 's on a word doesn't suddenly make it mean you put "is" in the sentence dipshit
Yes it does. It's a contraction.
shut the FRICK up and stop butchering my language
prequelshills frick off
this's a stupid post and if the poster's smart then they'll delete it
That's not how contractions work. You can't just make up your own contractions.
Correct but it's an improper contraction. Movie's used in this way is a possessive so "dark" would be owned by movie's. If he said something like "the movies dark atmosphere" it would be correct.
No, tard.
>Why do people think this movie is dark?
>Why do people think this movie's dark?
No discrepancy.
How people speak and how written language works, especially English are two different things, you tard.
"He's" right you moron

>How do people think this movie's "dark?"
It's not dark, it's just more mature than the original. Less quips and laser battles, more characterization and psychology.
>Revenge of the Sith is way more bleak than this movie.
yeah but imagine if it was actually good
Empire isn't half as good as RotS
>spend half of the movie follwing around Han doing nothing
>spend the other half watching Luke train
It's so flat.
>Empire isn't half as good as RotS
Good morning sirs.
of the Sith is way more bleak than this movie.
>yeah but imagine if it was actually good
best star wars's the rise of skywalker
because daisy's cute
Something darker existing doesn't make the other thing not dark. Empire has a very somber tone, it ends with the heroes defeated and outmaneuvered, and Luke seemingly abandoned by his mentors. QED.
Also the prequels suck.
It's directed by someone with competence.
It's far more emotional than the original.
The rebels (and our heroes) spend most of the film getting their asses kicked and/or on the run.
Evil winning = darker movie.
And don't compare this to the prequels moron, this came first.
Empire literally kickstarted prequel autism
Irvin Kirshner doesn't understand Star Wars. His movie is mostly a waste of time where characters either aren't motivated by anything or the Force constantly drags them by the nose.
What happened to this guy? I used to love his shit when I was in middle school.
he is seething because disney keeps ruining star wars. he is afraid the fandom will die off and he will become broke.
>characters either aren't motivated by anything
Lando was trying to balance his desires to protect his people with his dislike of the empire.
Luke was training to become a Jedi and is then motivated to try and save his friends.
Vader was attempting to track down Luke and turn him.
The only one that's kind of weak is that Han and Leia are kind of just trying not to get killed the whole time.
han was also trying to convince leia that she was into him despite him clearly being into her and not wanting to be upfront about it (this is continuing from a new hope where he pretty much gets a hard-on the minute he meets her). that's why he forces the kiss on her, she then realizes she needs dick and he's basically swinging his around letting her know that he's available.
He understands human emotion better than Lucas and Empire has the scenes that resonate emotionally with audiences more so than any other SW film.
Star Wars (1977) has the darkest shit in the entire series
>brutal murder of parent figures, horribly charred corpses briefly seen on screen
>interrogation and implied torture of Leia
>mass murder on a (literal) global scale
>mentor figure murdered
>Luke's childhood friend and last link to his old life killed
Yet no one ever points out how "dark" Star Wars (1977) is, it's always "Empire is the darkest of the OT" why is that?
Lucas can't into human emotion
cinematography you brainlet
