The kid had super powers, he could take a hit, he was probably stronger than Soldier Boy. Billy literally had the person he was obsessed with killing for years right in front of him in a vulnerable position and instead of finally finishing it turned on Soldier Boy for no real reason.
>look just don't hurt the kid aye? we're here to kill omlanda, end of
That's all he had to say. Instead he teamed up with his wife's boyfriend.
Dumbest, gayest plot development of all time. Butcher and Homelander's "on sight" dynamic was the driving force of the show.
This is why it's bad. If Homelander didn't kill his wife why does he hate him? And this is a way Butcher and Hughie are connected, they both had their ladies die in their arms because of supes but that doesn't exist in the show
(Shit, can't post pics. Issue 6 page 16, go look at it yourself)
did he shame him? from what I rememer he had a look of genuine confusion because obviously someone from a century ago is gonna do a double take at the words "my wife's son", but I don't remember him mocking butcher.
>Bring back Soldier Boy from Russian captivity >All he wants to do is party, frick, and be left alone >Make him agree to kill Homelander >Find out Homelander is his son but he agrees to keep his word anyway >Call him "evil" because he thought Eddie Murphy was funnier than Black Noir >Call him "racist" because of some unverified story from Mother's Milk's grandpa >Call him a "fraud" based on hearsay from some old bitter movie studio executive >Non-fatally incapacitates his grandson (who killed your wife) when he interferes with you killing his son (who allegedly raped your wife) >Team up with Homelander to take out this "greater evil" who was literally just trying to do what you made him promise to do
At what point was I supposed to be rooting for Butcher and rooting against Soldier Boy?
Don't forget the part where he was traumatized from being locked in a cramped box and sedated for several decades, then they sedated and locked him in a cramped box. As a claustrophobic frick that shit gave me a couple nightmares.
I’m tempted to watch this show just because I loved Jensen Ackles in supernatural and have never seen him in anything else. I know he doesn’t appear until a few seasons in, is it worth the watch? I’m not usually into traditional capeshit but I loved the Watchmen movie and I’ve heard this is similar to that
it starts off alright with an interesting enough premise but the decline is slow and steady, and if you're only watching for ackles you're gonna hate how they treat his character.
Something like that. The character is from the 40s so he has a couple scenes like staring at a gay couple and thinking they're weirdos and saying "casually racist" shit, and the show demonizes him for it. It felt like he was meant to have more scenes where he acts like a huge piece of shit, but they got cut and now all the characters hate him for no discernible reason other than "wow he's like my racist grandpa". Despite the fact there are far more pressing matters.
That sounds kinda lame but it’s what I sorta expected I guess. If I’m able to enjoy Black Mirror despite all the woke shit can I probably still enjoy the Boys or is it worse?
He did a double take when he saw a gay couple for the first time (after being locked away since the 80s) and asked Hughie to get him some "oriental" sauce (which was and still is the proper and totally acceptable name of a variety of sauces/flavors).
He's barely even a character in season 3 and doesn't get much to do. I only kept watching to season 3 because people were hyping up soldier boy as something that would define Jensen's career going forward, but he's ultimately a plot device with very little characterization

And you don't stop, sure shot
Go out to the parking lot
And you get in your car and drive real far
And you drive all night and then you see a light
And it comes right down and it lands on the ground
And out comes a man from Mars
And you try to run but he's got a gun
And he shoots you dead and he eats your head
And then you're in the man from Mars
You go out at night eatin' cars
You eat Cadillacs, Lincolns too
Mercurys and Subaru
And you don't stop, you keep on eatin' cars
Then, when there's no more cars you go out at night
And eat up bars where the people meet
Face to face, dance cheek to cheek
One to one, man to man
Dance toe to toe, don't move too slow
'Cause the man from Mars is through with cars
He's eatin' bars, yeah wall to wall
Door to door, hall to hall
He's gonna eat 'em all
Rap-ture, be pure
Take a tour through the sewer
Don't strain your brain, paint a train
You'll be singin' in the rain

>Big reveal that my raped dead wife had a son >Big reveal that my raped wife is still alive >Big reveal that my wife wasn't actually raped and liked fricking Homelander >Big reveal that my cheating wife is dead now >Big reveal that my cheating dead wife wants me to raise her son with my arch nemesis
I genuinely don't understand the hate. Homelander is an butthole but the kid is innocent and to honor the wish of your dead wife is not being "cucked"
Homelander is objectively the bigger threat, though.
The kid had super powers, he could take a hit, he was probably stronger than Soldier Boy. Billy literally had the person he was obsessed with killing for years right in front of him in a vulnerable position and instead of finally finishing it turned on Soldier Boy for no real reason.
Except Solider Boy didn't want to hurt the kid, he only did so because he got in the way
>That's my wife's son
>mi woifs san
>the kid is innocent
i mean he killed his mother
>look just don't hurt the kid aye? we're here to kill omlanda, end of

MUH WOIFE'S SON

I’m not sure I understand any of the character motivations in the last season
Butcher and soldier boy seemed like they should be allies and friends
he was a homophobe and stepfather shamer
Butcher seems like a man who would call people poofters and cucks until season 3
did he shame him? from what I rememer he had a look of genuine confusion because obviously someone from a century ago is gonna do a double take at the words "my wife's son", but I don't remember him mocking butcher.
>homophobe
He was just shocked at how open it was. He's a hardass tough guy boomer, but he's not saying guys should be cremated alive or lose rights
but you should be mad
I look down on any man who would be a step father. How the frick can you get any lower than willingly bring host to a parasitic reproductive strategy
No, he raped her.

Never he's the final villain in the comic books
That still doesn't explain everybody else. All the "heroes" teamed up with the main villain to take out a character who did nothing wrong.

They treat him like some kinda alt-right “butthole” right? I’m only judging from screenshots I’ve seen
no, that's just reactionary bs

Personally the only thing I found 100% moronic was the final episode of season 3. Your mileage may vary.
I’ll give a try then, I’ve had season 1 on my hardrive for years but haven’t dived in yet. Thanks for not spoiling anything anon

season 1 is good but season 2 was shit. The only good thing about season 3 was ackles
