They've really gone to shit now. I tried listening to one of the more recent podcasts and they spent an hour complaining about how the sword making the bad guy in Thor 4 evil made no sense. Talk about missing the forest for trees, that movie has so many problems and this is a complete non issue, it'd be like complaining about why the Necronomicon in Evil Dead corrupts everything around it.
It's like they've become a parody of themselves.
Starting a podcast is when it killed his Unbridled series for me. Up until then I thought "oh hes doing a character like AVGN", but the podcast mde it clear that no he wasn't, and that's really what he's like.
Unironically it's completely valid to complain about this garbage in the MCU because whenever you introduce a new magic evil book or evil sword, it raises questions about why these things weren't established earlier on. It kills gods? What the frick are "gods"? The Eternals? No not them, divine beings, which did...nothing during the Thanos events? Why didn't Thanos get the evil sword? etc. etc.
You can't just market something as a big extended, interconnected universe and then introduce random bullshit into it, then say "turn your brain off".
This is how comic stories have existed for decades. It is a prerequisite to appreciating a comic book movie. Like accepting sound travels in space when watching a star wars movie.
