>As I see it, a sex scene is a choreography. I just have, in my mind, some positions. I tell them how I see it, what are exactly the positions that I had in mind, and then they just bring it to life, and then it becomes real.
The director describing sex scenes between Elliot Page and Kate Mara in My Days of Mercy.

They add nothing to the story. If I want to see sex I can watch porn. They aren't gross to me, just stupid.
They CAN be good. They rarely are. Like any other scene, you have to somehow be advancing the character changes or the plot (someone kills their partner maybe, or succumbs to something), otherwise it’s pointless and should be cut
We wouldn’t want to destroy fun action scenes because of MCU CGI slop, right? Same principle here
>If I want to feel aroused I'll just watch porn
>If I want to feel angry I'll just watch _____
>If I want to feel sad I'll just watch ______
Why are you compartmentalizing your emotions moron
i look up if a movie has nude scenes on IMDB before i watch. it ruins movies for me.
homosexual
you havve to go back
They remind women of their place in society
Sex scenes or nudity used to define a genre. Sword and sorcerer films of the late 70’s early 80’s, unless specifically made for children, were gonna have some tiddays in them. The same for schlocky horror films or slashers. Then feminism came along and stopped all of the fun.
and now older feminist are full of regret after decades on the dick carrousel
>zoomers want less nudity and more diversity/social commentaries
>hollywood listens and obliges
>no movies good money anymore
>whole industry farts itself into oblivion
Slow clap for the idiots, people.
Zoomers what less female nudity. There's more naked men than ever. They're literally a bunch of homosexuals. They're ideal woman is Mindy Kaling wearing a strap-on. Some grossoid who needs to appropriate male sexuality to be sexual cuz she can't do a Megan Fox.This the hell they desire.
Fortunately it's all rhetoric as real life is way less homosexual than it was in, say, the 70's
This, but it's the Millenials fault because they grew up to be a bunch of puritanical pussies who want to clutch pearls as often as possible.
I thought millennials grew up on subversive stuff like South Park that was trying to offend everyone
>I thought millennials grew up on subversive stuff like South Park
Yeah, but it's like what happened with the boomers, who were peaceloving hippies in their 10s and early 20s and became warmongering neocons in their 50s and 60s. Millennials grew up watching South Park, and now they're the ones canceling it for being "too edgy" and politically incorrect.
I skip over all sex scenes in movies and shows
Something that only israelites and women want to see in non-porn movies.
In the days before internet porn was everywhere, sex scenes made sense as porn was limited and sex helped sell tickets. Today? Not so much.
Today sex scenes are just try hard and a waste of time. If we want to watch porn, we'll watch it for free on the net, no need to waste my time in a film I pay for.
most are targetted at foids and are boring kissing and huffing slop
moids like brapper and boob shots, or some suggestive and sexy scenario
I wonder how Kate Mara feels about sleeping with Ellen now that he's Elliot
If it's a romance okay you can do it
Any other genre it seems a bit self indulgent and unnecessary to be honest
Just trying to drum up controversy and get that R rating
They're fine. Movies are very sanitized now and zoomers get anxious about seing them.
Sex is a part of life and movies are a part of life
Sex is not a part of life for a large amount of people that's why they don't want it in movies.
Not really, you're just unfrickable
He's not wrong tho, 5 years ago it already was 28% of young men who didn't have sex, 3x more than in 2008, now it's probably ~40% thanks to the further tinderisation of the sexual market and Gen Z women being more homosexual and picky than Millennial women.
How is being unlucky with the generoll at birth, "driving" the decline in sex?
>for a large amount of people
This guy's shit eating grin makes me chuckle every time.
Shitting is also a part of life therefore movies must show close-ups of shit.
>watch movie because my waifu is in it
>she has a sex scene
I hate it.
I love it. I had been waiting to see Kate Mara's amazing boobas for so long.
Just self insert and enjoy it
You know they're not really doing it though right?
they are still touching each other while barely wearing anything.
I'm pretty sure they are doing it in some movies like Lust, Caution
Just self-insert as her love-interest

Sex in movies is all choreography unless you work with certain European directors. Go back and watch R rated movies in the early 80s and see how much nudity was in genres like comedy and horror. I just pirated a whole bunch of 80s movies today and browsed through them, all of them had scenes of nudity and sex. Even some pg-13 movies had breasts in them.
Zoomers are honestly so fricking gay and moronic that they cry and moan about seeing boobs in a film, but jerk off daily to blacked.com and other ventures. It's hypocritical and just plain dumb on behalf of these zoomers to complain.
Also I recommend watching this movie "Cat People" (1983). I instantly fell in love with Nastassja Kinski and couldn't believe how much you could show back then.
I just read the tagline on IMDB.
Like, zoinks, scoob.
The plot is from a dogshit B movie from the 40's but it's truly unique on its own form. Also, imagine using IMDB to get your opinions you homosexual.
Well, I could have waited another 2 hours, and driven 20 minutes to the used/vintage store, found the DVD and asked to look at it (because it's behind glass, you see) and read the tagline and the synopsis on the back of the box. Assuming they have it. If they didn't, I could have them search another store, and drive to that one, then proceed with the previous steps. Or I could just get all of the exact same information from IMDB and used that to form a preliminary opinion, which I expressed vis a vis, "zoinks".
You seem like a c**t, anon.
You seem like a massive Black person who needs to hop back onto reddit where you belong you entitled frick. Your passive aggressive bullshit is fricking obnoxious and gay. have a nice day.
>entitled
I don't even know where that came from. All I ever said was "zoinks, Scoob". I think you have an anger problem.
The 1940s Cat People isn't a dogshit movie. One of the best horror movies ever made.
>I instantly fell in love with Nastassja Kinski
So did her dad when she turned 8 heyo
I don't really have any interest in people who get aggravated, frustrated, or emotionally upset about this.
well anon, there's one in particular I'm really hoping for...
They are necessary and add a lot to.the plot and the viewer's experience
I hate the fake hollywood """passionate""" scenes that start suddenly with kissing and groping everywhere
fast forward that slop. yet another reason not to go to theaters
>How does Cinemaphile feel about sex scenes in film?
i skip them. if i want to see people frick i watch porn
To this date, the only kinda realistic sex scene I've seen was in don't look now. Every other time it was shit or bad.
>itt: white incels self-inserting as the cuck when they see a woman having sex
you're all pathetic.
So long as I don't have to watch them in company I'm a-okay with it
A good sex scene can be worth it in and of itself, something like Mulholland Dr. or Blue is The Warmest Color apring to mind. The issue is that they're almost never that good, it just feels like cheap padding when they feel like spicing up a movie with swx while also not making it very sexy and not really showing or establishing anything or note. It comes off as cheap, which is why you can usually stand to remove them altogether
nothing to do with films but shows but sense every show is a damn hour might as well be a film but all in all over fricking used, like damn make it special instead of trying to activated the monke brain of sex seen
damn i cant spell for shit and used the wrong words frick my life
hating sex in movies is only an issue in the U.S.
you guys are just going to factory settings: a bunch of puritans
Hollywood produces 100 times more nude scenes annually than all the other countries combined produce in a decade. Best erotic thrillers? USA. Best body horrors? USA. Most nudity per hour of running time? USA. Most porn actors and actresses starring in non-porn movies? USA.
but the modern U.S public rejects all of that.
while Europe and Latin America don't have a problem with that
>but the modern U.S public rejects all of that.
It doesn't matter, because unlike communist countries like the EU, America has the First Amendment, and any director is free to show as much nudity as they want.
I wish my job was lesbian sex choreographer
Shit now that everything is CGI. I just wanted them to degrade the actors like the prostitutes they are.
Reminder OP pic is a straight sex scene, according to libs.
I guess my only issue with sex scenes is that the fact that they're softcore and sometimes even done with stunt doubles which makes the whole thing very awkward to watch. 10 minutes of intense kissing, then the guy thrusts like 2-3 times and then it cuts to the bed
If it's gratuitous but shot well it's fine
If it's for actual character development it's fine
If it's for actual character development and is shot well it's good
If it's a pointless and badly shot sex scene for netflix/HBO bait it's shit
If it has gays or interracial shit with black men I turn off the movie/show and move on
this guy gets it
but man, the interracial part could work if it's part of the story like in "Storytelling" by Todd Solondz
