Fin funnels (a) need to hit a unit that is considerably faster, even without activating MEPE in the F91's case, and (b) have beam shields, so even a hit on the unit has a high percentage of not actually mattering. Amuro is a good pilot, but I would doubt he's good enough to overcome that disparity in technology and performance. I know the bio brain shit exists in Crossbone, but I don't give that much shift personally.
and he turns into a super-mega gigachad in Crossbone, entering the atmosphere with an open wienerpit with only a beam shield for protection.

I'm equating preferring the F90 to people trying to give the Turn A a generic Gundam face because the major difference between the two is that F91 has a pretty unique chest design and the F90 makes it more generic.
I just find the F91 kinda bland and I don't care all that much for the Crossbone Vanguard suits, I know it's Zeonwank but I like the Oldsmobile suits from the game and manga more.
The F91 is a hotrod of a mobile suit, sleek in design and weaponry. The beam sabers and their containers, the beam rifles, and the VSBRs are all married equally to both form and function in a beautiful equilibrium. Even the HWS variant's minigun/missile launcher is just as sleek as the original weapons.
It's something the F90 series and Silhouette F91s fail to realize, as shown here and
hard to argue with that tbh
here. Verniers and exposed weapons just bolted on, hard edges galore, they all miss the coolness of the final product.

Interesting. I always found it a shame the show never did more with that honestly. Obviously the Gundam is going to be the most used unit given the show is named for it, but it'd have been nice if Amuro used the Guncannon and Guntank a bit more.

The F90 has a really good base design. It's only bad when you start slapping random shit onto it.
>I'm too smart and intelligent for this show!
You come off as incredibly insecure while trying to project insecurity onto others.
Yes, there is a lot of intelligent Gundam material and yes it's possible to find toy-selling gimmicks stupid and childish.

Oh I'm sure you have you reasons, and they're as solid to you as my opinion is to me even as someone who isn't a huge fan of the F91 (it's okay, but I'm not a fan of the "face" - either version; which is ironic given the Turn A comparisons) but it just seems weird to me. I don't understand how you can find the F91 blander than the F90, beyond the F91 not having enough bits strapped to it. Which seems like a reductive way to put it, and I'm not saying is what makes the difference for you, but is the only thing I can think of when contemplating it.
The Crossbone Vanguard to Oldsmobile one is easier for me to understand, because there's a much greater difference, including a pretty big aesthetic change. Plus, I can understand not liking the "goggles" look the Crossbone Vanguard go for.
everything from F90 onwards. F91, Crossbone Vanguard suits, the Crossbone gundams themselves, Victory suits, Zanscare suits...

Don't project on me homosexual , manlet mobile suit are specially after the era of gigantic mobile suits like the xi , nu ,sazabi... Ect it shows the influence of bandai on gundam became more avacive, the small size of the suits was because they want it to cut cost and make them smaller and less detailed
assuming you mean the post victory one, there's more crossbone, and g-saviour. depending on how deep down the rabbit hole you wish to go there's also Gaia Gear and MAD WANG
I meant something more substantiel than a sequel of crossbone or a live action movie that is as hated and malined like G-savior and i dont think gaia gear is canon and the less we talk about mad wang the better
G-Savior is shit on a lot less and with a lot less passion than almost any other Gundam entry you can name. It has its detractors, but so does quite literally everything. It's reception is to mostly be forgotten, and made out to be quite mediocre and dull rather than bad or anger inducing by most people who do talk about it. Which almost every thread I've ever seen on it here or other forums bear out. I don't think I've ever seen a single thread where it was all, or even mostly, actual hate.
the hate for g-saviour is mostly just a meme, really.
the movie itself is just incredibly mediocre. not bad enough to go into "so bad it's good" territory, it's just bland. The mecha design in it is great tho. You can clearly see how it's a middle point between Okawara's earlier works and SEED designs.
I meant something more substantiel than a sequel of crossbone or a live action movie that is as hated and malined like G-savior and i dont think gaia gear is canon and the less we talk about mad wang the better
I don't think you could have said gay in one post anymore than what you just did. I think you have homosexuality on your mind anon. Seek help, find God
There's just something about modern Okawara that I really don't like, I'm not sure what it is. His 90's stuff is some of my favorites, but at the turn of the century he just turned shit.
I don't know if he's necessarily shit now, but he seems as if he's imitating the work he did decades ago. The problem I have with this is the same problem I have with that "ironic" Megaman 9 etc. cover art, it all feels wholly dishonest. I frankly hate the recent MSV-R designs by him because they don't really add much, they just introduce a Gouf with chains and a GM that has a plane for a head. His G-Saviour line art is his absolute best and I can't be convinced otherwise.
In the backstory apparently SNRI has MANY of the F90 Type3 frames hidden at different locations.
So wherever they deploy the core fighter there will be a frame ready to be used.
The best thing about it is all F90 data is shared between all the frames and system and battle updates can happen on the fly no matter where they are.
F-90IIIY should be called F90 Cluster Gundam Youngstar Type. There are 2 more Cluster Gundam types which are the eXtra Type and the Zero Type.
By setting all data from any of the Formula series MS are going back to the F90 series, in order to complete and to perfect the Formula Zero / Zero Type.

Fun fact that F90IIIY was supposed to be the MS to be presented to the Federation. But due to "stolen data" (which leads to AE's Neo Gundam) F91 was being presented instead.
The swap bought time for SNRI to solve some of the issues with F91 (heat dissipation, bio computer limitation when assisting the pilot, etc.) to make F90III better in performance.
F91 later got mass produced as is for the Federation, while F90III is being mass produced to do SNRI's shady operations in the background.
Just a side note. F90 "Type 1" also has more than 2 units and parts for backup over the years before they start working on F90III. For some reason they never addressed them as F90 unit 3, 4 and so on.
clean 90% white color scheme with splashes of blue and red here and there.
curvy, smoothed edges and flowy lines that stand out among UC Gundams which are usually all about angular designs.
Trim and clean look but without being *too* simple, so it looks powerful and advanced too.
dared to be unique with its chest design, did the mask opening gimmick long before Shining and Unicorn did it.
That unique sound effect for its main vernier. Its Millenium Falcon esque in how powerful it feels, like a mobile suit race car.
Nice, clean array of powerful weapons with distinct functions and streamlined use (can shoot the rifle, or bazooka, with one or two of the VSBR's out at the same time.)
Its special ability is Trans-AM over a decade before 00 was made.
as a bonus, its pilot is neat. real, relatable, and he becomes a pirate captain later.
> dared to be unique with its chest design, did the mask opening gimmick long before Shining and Unicorn did it.
F91 released March 1991, G Gundam started in April 1994; I'd hardly call 3 years and 1 month "long before". I'm pretty sure Optimus Prime and probably others were doing roughly the same thing before F91 anyway.
> Nice, clean array of powerful weapons with distinct functions and streamlined use (can shoot the rifle, or bazooka, with one or two of the VSBR's out at the same time.)
I've always found the inclusion of the beam rifle and beam bazooka kind of odd and redundant given the existence of the VSBRs. Which are integrated really nicely with the base design. The rifle or bazooka on the back or in the hand don't look as clean though.
> Its special ability is Trans-AM over a decade before 00 was made.
I don't believe a solid speed has ever been given for the MEPE mode, but with the afterimages it's probably superior regardless.
Honestly the f91 should've have two beam shield projectors. Shields on when VSBRS are off as a round meelee weapon, then power is diverted to the VSBRS for burst and penetration capabilities. It's got plenty of vulcans for close and personal combat with low armored mobile suits.
I also get that from F91. Sleek curves, minimal hard edges and trying to cover the internal details with the armor etc.
The chest grill looks like a car grill, the leg intakes tries to look sleek instead of exposing the frames and even the leg verniers/thrusters are under curved armor plates
The race car aesthetic is why I like it so much it just looks fast. It personifies the whole idea that MS technology micronized by this point and the emphasis on speed as the best defense against increasingly destructive weaponry leaned into even harder.
It’s primary back vernier really does make a cool, powerful sound in the movie too.
It’s a shame it got only a movie to shine briefly, I’d have loved to see creative uses of it’s crazy speed more.
Man I love the F91. Design still holds up so well. It really feels like a new gundam designed by a new company that is more advanced than anything prior. I still prefer bigger mobile suits I guess but damn nothing is as clean as the F91 in gundam.
>designed by a new company that is more advanced than anything prior
The guys who developed F91 are from AE though. The only difference is one company tried to milk to old business format to death and the other has more things in consideration.
I thought F91 was developed by SNRI and built by AE? AE being able to manufacture was their consolation prize after getting blown out by the F90 and sucking at making miniature mobile suits
I thought F91 was developed by SNRI and built by AE? AE being able to manufacture was their consolation prize after getting blown out by the F90 and sucking at making miniature mobile suits
F91 wasn't built by AE. Otherwise they wouldn't need to have their own clone in the form of the RXF-91 Silhouette Gundam.

AE wasn't involved in the F91 or F90 project at all, so far as I know. They were involved in the Victory line of suits according to some sources, but not all of them. The unit was still designed by ex-SNRI people, but a few sources say that AE were the ones to build it because the League Militaire and SNRI people didn't have the resources to build it on their own.

From what I could dig up from MAHQ, Mechatalk, even Gundam Wiki there was some minor direct meddling that Anaheim got into years before F91 with the SNRI F-series of projects, mainly to do with the F70 Cannon Gundam and F71 G-Cannon. Basically, SNRI is great as a scientist-egghead group that comes up with new and innovative work, but they're not a business and they don't know how to design or plan for mass production, so despite the EFF signing on with SNRI for a lot of projects, AE is retained for their manufacturing knowhow.
Apparently SNRI and AE butt heads over the F70 and F71. The F70 is a good high performance MS, but Anaheim jumps the gun a bit and knowing the Federation's long fricking history of adopting only the cheapest and economical machines, decides to redesign the F70 design to include more parts that are "off the shelf" and lower performance, resulting in the F71 which the Federation happily accepts. SNRI is pissed because they intended the F70 to be the final product, not the bastardized F71 that AE snuck under their radar into approval. AE is pissed that SNRI doesn't want to cooperate with them as much after this, so begins their Silhouette program to steal data from SNRI.
the MG 2.0 is fricking excellent, the only real flaw is lots of tiny ass parts especially in the head due to being a very detailed, but very small master grade.
afterwards the kit holds up great though, personally I dislike the static hands it uses but that's a matter of preference. as a bonus, it comes with dry decals for VSBR and some SNRI logos
the HG fricked up hard in the body proportions and it looks like some one reskin rx78 with F91's details. They really dropped the ball along with the Hg V
agree, that thing is a goddamn rock of stability. The hands can be a little annoying at times and the legs have this weird engineering that can "jam" them up it's minor issues overall.
I gotta agree with the praise for 2.0 I’ve found it to be really articulate and stable, and nicely detailed. How nicely it poses and stands is probably more testament to how well designed the MS itself is
I do think Zeta and F-91 have something in common though, which is that they were both designs made to heavily shake up the general design cues of Gundams in order to usher in both a new era within the timeline, and in the franchise as a whole. Even today they’re both very unique among UC Gundam designs, Zeta with the design emphasis on triangular shapes and it’s unique face, and F91 with its curved features and unique body.
It kind of reminds me of how 00 led in with Exia, which even after more traditional Gundam designs followed it, Exia still sort of stood out because of it’s unique design.
>which is that they were both designs made to heavily shake up the general design cues of Gundams
Zeta was the third gundam ever, there weren't much in the way of general design cues before that
Zeta Gundam was also the second Gundam entry, and it wasn't even really a franchise until Zeta Gundam aired. It was really just one successful show, with some data books and toys etc. There wasn't even any proper manga sequels before then. In fact, so far as I know, the only manga prior to Zeta Gundam was a single side story called Mobile Suit Gundam 0079 Gaiden. It's hard to see how the Zeta was meant to shake anything up when there hadn't really been anything established prior to it's existence, and the only design cues that denominated a Gundam were the ones Zeta itself set with the Mk II.
Honestly, Zeta Gundam could have been called Mobile Suit Asshimar and it'd be just as much a sequel as Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, because the RX-78-2 was the hero machine of prior show but there was nothing really saying that the hero machine of any others had to be a Gundam specifically too, and couldn't just be another mobile suit.
He's Fin-ish.

cumbrain go. If I shook you there would be a sloshing noise since your cranium is filled with cum and zero brain matter
You're the one into dudes.
Mate ain't gay i just called the robot gay which it kinda of is (watch the movie grandma's boy )
>dude I have porn addiction lol
get out of here
>oooo mommy i cant pilot the gundam! ooo pls help mee
Seabook is shit
Since we are talking about late uc is there anything of note after crossbone gundam ?
assuming you mean the post victory one, there's more crossbone, and g-saviour. depending on how deep down the rabbit hole you wish to go there's also Gaia Gear and MAD WANG
I meant something more substantiel than a sequel of crossbone or a live action movie that is as hated and malined like G-savior and i dont think gaia gear is canon and the less we talk about mad wang the better
> G-Savior
> Hated
Are you the guy making all the threads about how people "hate" Macross II as well?
I assumed since i never watched it qnd every time the fanbase mention it its shit on , plus i don't make the threads on macross 2
What is Mad Wang?
A story set in UC 1160, it's about as far removed as it can be from Gundam while still being in the same universe.
G-Reco.
I don't think you could have said gay in one post anymore than what you just did. I think you have homosexuality on your mind anon. Seek help, find God
so what do you think about this version?
Goofy looking face
But that may be the upscaling
It is probably the upscaling but this is mostly a sketch.
People don't know, but the original settei of F91 wasn't drawn by Okawara but by Yas, so it is quite different in how he poses it.
it is for the Metal Build, so of course it is going to be different.
It isn't updating, it is just a different arrangement, moron. just like the HCM-PRO is different and it came after the 2005 version
>It isn't updating, it is just a different arrangement, moron.
different arrangement, lmao frick off
Hideous work by Okawara trying to "update" his original F91.
Reminds me of Izubuchi trying to "update" his classic Hi-Nu design and the "update" is complete shit.
both suk
>the "update" is complete shit.
Update looks better though? Bulky ass suits never made sense for Amuro and his style of combat.
Who gives a frick about story BS
People older than 12.
The only good Nu is pictured left.
Too blocky
Looks like a classic Twitter artist redesign but okawara did it to himself
Looks like it belongs in SEED.
Now that you mention it.
>what if I try to be like post-Unicorn Katoki
I've always thought it's chest looked like a shark's head but it's even more pronounced in that pic.
It looks like a car grille
Cluster is the best-looking Gundam to come out of the Formula projects.
That is an ugly clusterfrick. The waist especially, which looks like someone kept adding details to the details and didn't know when to stop.
>ugly clusterfrick
I guess that's why it's called Cluster.
Is that actually why it's called cluster?
Sounds pretty cool.
F-90IIIY should be called F90 Cluster Gundam Youngstar Type. There are 2 more Cluster Gundam types which are the eXtra Type and the Zero Type.
By setting all data from any of the Formula series MS are going back to the F90 series, in order to complete and to perfect the Formula Zero / Zero Type.
source on this?
SNRI/Anaheim dynamic is always fascinating and i'd love to read more on this
Just go flip through a couple of B-Club books and comics and everything's there.
So source is my ass
No
Source for what?
For X and Z type it's stated in that picture
already.

Which part of that specifically talked about the Cluster Gundam and where?
Samegay
Canonically not samegayging.
you're fricking useless
at least provide an exact book and/or post the page about the extra cluster gundams
con't
For some reason they never addressed them as F90 unit 3, 4 and so on.
>goy
clean 90% white color scheme with splashes of blue and red here and there.
curvy, smoothed edges and flowy lines that stand out among UC Gundams which are usually all about angular designs.
F-91 is just slick af
> dared to be unique with its chest design, did the mask opening gimmick long before Shining and Unicorn did it.
There's something about its curves and silhouette that just screams "sports car" to me. Anyone else get that feeling?
No, it's just you.
What are you talking about? They were pretty explicit that the design philosophy for the F91 was "sports cars". Why do you think it's called the F91?
I also get that from F91. Sleek curves, minimal hard edges and trying to cover the internal details with the armor etc.
The chest grill looks like a car grill, the leg intakes tries to look sleek instead of exposing the frames and even the leg verniers/thrusters are under curved armor plates
I was being sarcastic, morons.
Big autism move being sarcastic via text.
You're an idiot for thinking anyone could miss the sports car influence.
Stop backtracking.
That's not what backtracking is.
What action games where I can use F91 beside Climax U.C and Dynasty Warriors?
extreme versus, gundam vs gundam et. the arcade fighting games.
Formula Wars 122 if you absolutely want -the- F91 game, though it's all strategy-based and not very long.
Correct, no idea what that anon is on about.
F91 wasn't built by AE. Otherwise they wouldn't need to have their own clone in the form of the RXF-91 Silhouette Gundam.
well than that makes
even more confusing
All the suit designs in F91 were great. Too bad the movie was garbage.
Should I buy the mg 2.0 or hguc kits?
Which ones
on HG the entire VSRB are stickerfest
Sadly, all kits for the F91 are bad.
the MG 2.0 is fricking excellent, the only real flaw is lots of tiny ass parts especially in the head due to being a very detailed, but very small master grade.
afterwards the kit holds up great though, personally I dislike the static hands it uses but that's a matter of preference. as a bonus, it comes with dry decals for VSBR and some SNRI logos
Get the new MG or the Rd version
the HG fricked up hard in the body proportions and it looks like some one reskin rx78 with F91's details. They really dropped the ball along with the Hg V
The old RD are both great in their own ways
2.0's great. Looks good, and the thing's even surprisingly rock solid for how small it is, probably one of my favorite MGs of recent years.
agree, that thing is a goddamn rock of stability. The hands can be a little annoying at times and the legs have this weird engineering that can "jam" them up it's minor issues overall.
I gotta agree with the praise for 2.0 I’ve found it to be really articulate and stable, and nicely detailed. How nicely it poses and stands is probably more testament to how well designed the MS itself is
He looks fine, I guess.
But picrel is what real coolness and handsomeness looks like.
Zeta is the most mediocre UC suit there is.
i would like Zeta a lot more if it wasn't for the damn arms
also, this is probably the ugliest lineart of it I have ever seen
Tasteless.
How's the lineart bad? It looks good to me.
Zeta was the third gundam ever, there weren't much in the way of general design cues before that
Why do later gundams look more like the first instead of Zeta?
>Mobile Suit Asshimar
I like the sound of that.
He isn't. None of Okawara's designs are cool. They all look the same.
Sir you are blind
He's right about the Okawara mecha looking the same part.
naw f91 is cool af
Dailly reminder that the f91 is a femboy ms that sucks wieners in glory holes and is for lil'gay boys
wtf I love it even more now
F91 is the best gundam in the franchise.
Dailly reminder that the f91 is a femboy ms that sucks wieners in glory holes and is for lil'gay boys
MEPE:ergo, it is a stripper
>F91 is a femboy stripper
I finally realize why I like it.
Go post on /lgbt/
Why? I like mecha.
See
The off-white makes it and is better than the solid white versions.
>That subtle off-white coloring
I hope we find a cure for aging soon, so I'll be alive by the time we have real gundams.
Is this image AI upscaled?
Doesn't look like it. Why would anyone upscale an image to 652x860?
It's just the 90s in general was perfection. The boxyness of the 80s given curves but not too much.
Look at any 90s engineering piece and you'll see how timeless they all look.
That car looks like shit though.
t. Bus rider
It looks like some rich gay's gay son would drive it.
moron.
Somehow the worst thread on /m/ right now through no fault of the OP but a weird mix of nu4ch posters and a troony fetishist.
Don't post shit in Japanese, gay. Or atleast translate it.
>he can't read it.
well yeah that's why i'm asking for translation
It seems to be various stuff about Mars's development, including AoZ reboot, and that dude who stole the F90 unit 2 and defected to Mars Zeon
Cool, yes. But handsome, no.
Get fricked Freedom Gundam.
Crossbone Gundam F91
looks cool
>Cecily, is there a moon?
Ok, you have my attention.
He is a F1 car.
For me, it's the shoulder fins and the legs.
where did it got a psychoframe?
