How does it make you feel that this flop is remembered fondly 20 years later but nobody remembers Wish while is out?

Wish will be beloved in 20 years, it was ahead of its time.
Lolno. The Disney flops that become cult classics are always movies that veer out of Disney's "princess musical and talking animal" comfort zones. Strange World has a bigger chance of getting popular in 20 years then this.
I'd be willing to put money down that Strange World ends up as a contrarian "actually great Disney movie". The story is weird, its visually interesting (well... except the characters), the ending is kinda gonzo.
It will be seen as less insane to defend than Home on the Range, but still seen as worse than older """actually great movies""" like Pocahontas or Brother Bear
Cope
>beloved in 20 years, it was ahead of its time
there have been countless cgi animated movies being made in many countries in the last 20 years and that hasn't happened yet so i doubt that will ever happen
You need to be at least 18 to post here
It's hard to forget about Wish when you people make a dozen threads about it everyday.
>Paid Disney shills
>people
People will always remember the last movie Disney made before going bankrupt.
From what I understand, Wish doesn't have a plot, and Treasure Planet is a riff on a beloved story called Treasure Island, so it isn't even original.
This comparison is moronic.
>Wish doesn't have a plot
This is not the flex you thought it was
You know what other Disney movie was a riff on an existing story? LITERALLY ALL OF THEM.
>and Treasure Planet is a riff on a beloved story called Treasure Island, so it isn't even original.
Just like Snow White
And Pinnochio
And Dumbo
...And Bambi...Ichabod and Mr. Toad...Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Princess and the Frog, Tarzan, Frozen, Tangled, Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, The Sword in the Stone, Robin Hood, Robin Hood with animals, Oliver and Company, Pocahontas, The Little Mermaid, etc.
Frick, even The Lion king is ripping off TWO things.

>Maaan wish was so underrated unlike this [New Movie] [New Insult Playword]
>Everyone knew Wish was good, they just had shit taste as usual.
Just wait for good ol' Cinemaphile contrarianism.
It'll be whatever Brave is today
Brave is weird because the fandom doesn't care for the movie itself, they just use Merida in crossovers.
This is completely delusional, which comes out of your belief that as long as you can work at Disney or another top company people will love you and your work. Who loves Alex Hirsch these days?
It comes from watching Pokémon games. You'll be the "single moron" saying it was bad.
Hey guy do you think by 2026 Valve will have contacted you to work on Half Life 3 like you delusionally believe?
It has a lot of sovl and it was a hard sell from the beginning. Wish is terrible on so many different levels it's hard to know where to start. It's just so jaded and was probably made partially by AI.
I was excited for Treasure Planet when I was a kid because it looked cool and even today I genuinely love its retrofuture aesthetic. Were there any kids who were hyped for Wish?
Why am I getting Titan AE vibes?
Wish is currently flopping harder than the black cauldron
The Black Cauldron is kino though, while Wish sucks on all fronts, even visually.
I'll never forget her
Nobody will forget her.
She got TFND
Tfnd?
Tiny Flacid Nerd Dick
Reminder the nerdy doctor put like four babies in her.
A man to aspire to
Although according to who you ask...
What did she see in him?
Intellect, willingness to overcome fear for the greater good, massive wiener
Mostly her spiny feline wiener.
>he doesn't know
Pretty good. Treasure Planet was kino.
I’ve noticed that the visual development for older Disney movies was always so thorough and beautiful. That’s why there’s that meme of concept art looking better than the actual movie. It’s interesting because all the concept art I’ve seen for Wish is flat and unengaging. Even their concepts for the movie were unappealing
It's because Wish is a completely uninspired "we have to do an anniversary movie" concept.
why would it make me feel anything at all?
The sequel would've been kino with William Dafoe playing the villian
>remembered fondly
By fujos, furries and daddy issues
jk
Which at least three more audiences than Wish has
Wish will be remembered by "villains who did nothing wrong" and "wasted potential".
>wasted potential
Fricking how?
>How does it make you feel that this flop is remembered fondly 20 years later but nobody remembers Wish while is out?
-''How does it feel to be the same sex as Donald Trump?''
>Disney tries to bury movie so they can move to souless cgi
>remembered fondly forever
>Disney keeps trying to soulless cash in on its own fame
>remembered never
Justice
Where did it flop?
In the box office
Reminder that between Tarzan in 1999 and The Simpsons Movie in 2007, the only american 2D films that grossed more than 200 million worldwide are Lilo & Stitch and Brother Bear.
Treasure Planet was just OK. Musker and Clements have directed better films.
>Not a thought in her head
>no idea
>and also no idea
Lol
…Well, I lie, I have an idea that Wish is death throes Disney, but still - core point remains.
Don’t know AND don’t care. lol.
Every Disney movie, without exception, had defenders who can't comprehend why it isn't considered a classic. This is probably the best Wish can hope to get.
vindicated
I liked how they hamstrung this thing by forcing it out into theaters a few months early so it could drop the same time as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, and then used it as a justification to never make anything that wasn't homosexual ever again.
Oh man, I remember watching HP in the cinema, it was like the second movie I ever got to see in the cinema behind the Pokemon movie, but now I wish I'd gotten to see Treasure Planet instead. Those fantastic views on the ship would have hit so much harder if I didn't see them for the first time on VHS with a cheap player and tiny screen.
Right? Especially since you can go to any town that's hosting a Harry Potter event and watch it on the big screen there. You're never going to see Treasure Planet up there again.
I went to the premiere of Terminator Genisys entirely because they were doing a special midnight premiere where they showed Terminator followed by Genisys. It was fricking amazing just for the music and atmosphere and now I wish I could get that for all the classics. I technically could since my local cinema rents the place out to private parties after Covid, but it's too expensive to rent the whole place with just me and like one buddy.
I honestly don't get why my local cinemas never show older movies. Are contracts set so that if they showed Treasure Planet they'd still have to fork over 90% of their intake to Disney or something? You'd figure they'd get to keep the profit beyond an initial rental fee when the movie is over 5 or 10 years old. I feel like they'd get way more crowds checking out Nosferatu on Halloween or old Disney movies for the kids, than just doing the movies that release this month where they have to share so much of the intake with the creators and have really expensive ticket prices because of it.
Eh that’s an overrated movie in my opinion it’s not even the best adaptation of treasure island on Disney plus.
Do they have the one where Elijah Wood plays Ben Gunn and absolutely nails the crazy without being annoying? It took liberties with the story but the casting was great and ultimately I liked the changes.
I don’t think so, but I love Muppets treasure Island Tim Curry with the muppets just works so well.
Feels good, Treasure Planet will always be my 2nd favourite Disney movie.
I rewatched Treasure Planet last month, still great.
Need more stories/games etc. to have sky ships. Only ones that come to mind where they play a big role is Final Fantasy, Skies of Arcadia and Pirate101.
