movies aren't about making profit they're about creating as many tax write-off opportunities as possible. How many free meals can you get out of this movie's production? That's all that matters.
Sure there will be lots of crap going on in the background, but they have a small army of people looking for a slice of the success of these things, they don't want to be throwing money away. If you're in this type of work culture you don't want to be the guy that says this line up looks shit.
Black Panther 2 was dealing with the real-life death of the main actor and had had that badass speech from Angela Basset in all the trailers. Of course it was going to turn a profit.
They're banking on the pull of an established brand name like The Avengers and them managing to build up audience investment in 'the multiverse saga', drawing people in even if they don't actually have any of the Avengers from those movies left.
They did scale back though. They scaled back film production and cancelled all the spin-off films, Rian's trilogy, the GoT staff's trilogy, and more. Also most of the TV stuff we have is animated.
>Also most of the TV stuff we have is animated.
Mandolorian, Boba Fett, Ahsoka Obi-Wan, + more upcoming series are far more than 1 season of Bad Batch.
The more likely outcome of all this is cancelling tv projects like She-Hulk 2, Punisher, Jessica Jones, Echo, and trimming the fat from the movies (Dr Strange 3, Blade, Captain America 4, whatever the Eternals are up to now, F4, whatever the plans are for X-Men). Same goes for their aborted Star Wars expansions.
We are not getting Eternals 2. I still see Eternals Legos on clearance at multiple stores and that's fricking insane because Legos never sit on clearance this long. It was that big of a failure. It was a huge bomb. Shang-Chi probably won't get its sequel either. They'll do Jessica Jones since it was already a proven hit at Netflix but I don't think most other shows will happen.
I don’t know why they just don’t make a new avengers movie and team composed of all the new young female characters they’ve been adding.
America Chavez, Shuri, Kate Bishop, Riri Williams, that other black widow girl, hell you can toss Cassie and Kamala Khan too, females will love it for girl power team and men will watch it for the girls, everyone wins, would make millions.
Men will watch anything for cute girls. I know, but at least half the ones I named are cute in their own way
The thing about using females to attract males is that the females have to be likable and the plot needs to be at least mediocre. Look at Indiana Jones 5 were every viewer hates the female protagonist because she's a piece of shit of a person
I like Anthony Mackie. Fricker is real as it gets (see his moves are made for China and 16 year olds interview). Shang-Chi is alright, just irrelevant in the greater MCU.
Shuri was a mistake. Should have gotten that gorilla guy or get Michael B Jordon back via some multiverse shenanigans.
Had Killmonger lived a redemption movie where he decides to live honoring his cousin could have been a really great movie. This is what happens when you murder all your villains.
If Chadwick had died earlier or maybe knowledge of his illness was more widely known, they might have done better contingency plans than "frick, I guess we'll go with the little sister nobody likes". Killmonger being a redeemed Black Panther sounds hype, especially given the Multiverse Saga shit they're pushing.
But you're right. The MCU has a habit of killing all its villains except Loki, Thor, and whatever is going on with Kang.
WHY DOES THE FRIENDSHIP BRACELET TURN OUT TO BE THE CURE FOR NOT!CANCER?
WHY AM I SUPPOSED TO FEEL SYMPATHETIC FOR A CHARACTER WHOSE TRAGIC BACKSTORY IS THAT A RANDOM PRIEST CALLED HIM A MEAN NAME, SHORTLY BEFORE MASSACRING HIM AND OTHER PEOPLE THAT NEVER EVEN HEARD OF HIS CIVILISATION?
He also wouldn't have left his undersea kingdom if it weren't for Wakandans being smug c**ts who basically ingored their own agreement to share Vibranium with the rest of humanity
As far as I'm concerned, Black Panther 2 didn't have protagonists

This bothers me intensely because the whole POINT of BP1 was T'challa turning his back on generations of Wakandan isolationism to prevent another Killmonger from happening. And then in BP2, you're supposed to buy his family honours his memory by...completely abandoning that goal and doubling down on Wakandans being their smug comic-tier selves.
Did no one stop and consider the implications of T'challa's closest family tarnishing his legacy? Shuri wasn't the only character who deserved a herb-enhanced visit from Killmonger.
I'll be honest, it took me a moment to remember who that was. I don't really remember much of the post-Endgame stuff well at all, only if I was sports entertained or not. All I remembered from Black Panther 2 was Shuri became Black Panther and I snoozed through the rest of it.
Namoore was meh.
I wish I could forget. The writing for Namooooore is all over the place, they really want you to be sympathetic for him but they also want him to be a stone cold villain. And frankly, they're much better at writing the latter than the former because they keep coming back to his dead mom he barely knew as a crutch.

It's like Wakanda is a country run by girlbosses
You know the sort. The smug, abrasive kind of posturing where it's more important to be "strong" than diplomatic or sensible. It doesn't matter what they agreed to or what would make sense because giving up literally the only reason your country and people are worth a damn to the rest of the world is an expression of weakness

The unintentional result of this is that M'baku genuinely seems miles wiser than everyone else in Wakanda's leadership apart from T'challa, and that's only because the MCU does everything short of declare T'challa the second coming of Wakandan Christ after BP1. Like I mean they're clearly going for M'baku being smarter than he looks and a bit of a contrarian/devil's advocate but the other frickers are so hotheaded he is literally the only guy with the presence of mind to ask hard questions like "is it a good idea to fight this technologically advanced civilisation adapted to living in the ocean...in the ocean...using vehicles NOT armed with weapons capable of reaching the presumed tidal superweapons they own which are capable of launching waves powerful enough to reach Wakanda?"
I mean was Shuri REALLY banking on the Atlanteans to all come on land and honourably fistfight it out in her first ever war? Because that's what happened and the Wakandans STILL lost.

Wasn't Wakanda's problem more that France attacked one of their facilities, not that France wanted vibranium? I haven't seen watched Wakanda Forever since it was in theaters, so my memory may be a bit off.

They had a reason, but they had no moral highground since they've basically operated as a rogue state without any diplomatic considerations since their introduction into the Marvel universe
I'll be honest, it took me a moment to remember who that was. I don't really remember much of the post-Endgame stuff well at all, only if I was sports entertained or not. All I remembered from Black Panther 2 was Shuri became Black Panther and I snoozed through the rest of it.
They really lucked out on M'baku's dude actually having charisma. The weird thing about the BP2 ending is that I got the impression from it that they weren't even sure which direction to go in, and made it ambiguous so they had options depending on how long, exactly, BP3 is delayed or whether or not it's heavily rewritten
Shuri and Shang-Chi being Avengers leaders makes no fricking sense. Thor, Bruce, Strange, and Carol all make better choices. Hell, even Scott makes more sense and he'd be terrible at it. Sam's fine, though, Sam makes sense.
His actor's willingness to appear everywhere has made him a good center point for the proposed new team. He's met everyone and I bet people would like to see him in a bigger role because he's just a likable guy. Wong and Falcap.
>How exactly does Disney expect this avengers movie to make a profit?
probably getting nonwhites into the parks and buying over priced trash at the parks with those characters.
It worked with guardians of the galaxy. They embraced a lot of characters not in the contract unversal had for their parks. So now they are making more.
People liked Shang Chi for the fighting, now sure there's much else going yet. Didn't watch BP2.
Hell I don't think any of these frickers have met each other yet have they?
>anti white male agenda >"NOOOO not my 90% representation in all media going down 1% this decade!!!"
jfc why are you people always the biggest out of touch snowflakes?

It may not make money, but the amount of brownie points well makes up for any monetary loss.
At this rate, Blackrock has to start bleeding money, right?
...Right?
They are funded by your taxes. Look it up
Black Panter 2 made profit
Made way less than the first and that's all that matters to Disney.
No shit it did, do you think Iron Man 4 starring Cheadle would make as much as Iron Man 3?
Black Panther 2 was dealing with the real-life death of the main actor and had had that badass speech from Angela Basset in all the trailers. Of course it was going to turn a profit.

Say what you will about the man but Ike wouldn't have let this happen
>Kang Dynasty
I seriously can't believe no one in the marketing department said anything about this dude's name
I can't believe you think they know any one thing about internet culture
They literally had a version of him in an technoegyptian headdress too. Then he and an army of Kangs started hooting. It was hilarious
WHO posted this because this screenshot is the only thing I've seen about it.
Not that I wouldn't put it past Disney to actually try to make them a new trinity but I haven't seen it announced anywhere else.
I’m sure the army of Twitter trannies Wii eat up any goyslop will keep them afloat
They won't. They're slowly fazing out Marvel entirely.
That's what they said about Star Wars 8 years ago and look how much tv shit there is now
They did scale back though.
They went from “we will make 1 Star Wars movie every year” to making no new Star Wars movies at all
All the tv shit were movies they scalebacked hard and reworked to be Disney+ shows.
>fazing
ESL
>scaling back != phasing out
The more likely outcome of all this is cancelling tv projects like She-Hulk 2, Punisher, Jessica Jones, Echo, and trimming the fat from the movies (Dr Strange 3, Blade, Captain America 4, whatever the Eternals are up to now, F4, whatever the plans are for X-Men). You actually believe that?
Men will watch anything for cute girls.
I know, but at least half the ones I named are cute in their own way
>men will watch it for the girls
eehhh, maybe. I don't think they would show restraint and avoid things that annoy male fans. They would probably also not do fan service.
Like she hulk could have been a gold mine of fan service and we got none. bopeep had more ass shots than she hulk.
Take out Shuri, Riri, and Cassie (Kathryn Newton is awful) and I would watch the hell out of that.
The thing about using females to attract males is that the females have to be likable and the plot needs to be at least mediocre. Look at Indiana Jones 5 were every viewer hates the female protagonist because she's a piece of shit of a person

Technically he's still the acting Sorcerer Supreme. Him and Abomination have to be doing something useful other than fixing cage fights.
Scott would make a great leader in the specific circumstance that a mission is about stealing some shit.

It worked with guardians of the galaxy. They embraced a lot of characters not in the contract unversal had for their parks. So now they are making more.
I can’t wait for them all to talk down to Spider-Man
Which of those three is currently the most popular one?
Are they popular enough to carry the franchise?
People liked Shang Chi for the fighting, now sure there's much else going yet. Didn't watch BP2.
Hell I don't think any of these frickers have met each other yet have they?
You are saying this because it already affects you?
they're gonna steal all the tickets
Making the Disney shows canon was the biggest mistake they've made in regards to the cinematic universe.
Heh, and here I remember the days when people used to b***h that Agents of SHIELD and the Netflix shows WEREN'T canon. My, how things have changed.
>Shuri
I guess they're okay with her now that it turns out she was right about all this covid shit.
except she wasnt and will never be
You trusted the science, didn't you?
>anti white male agenda

jfc why are you people always the biggest out of touch snowflakes?
Captain Falcon I get but why would Shang Chi be a leader? Wouldn't Captain Marvel make more sense or anyone with more experience with the team?
Cap marvel spends like 1 day every 10 years on earth. How can she be the leader
>Original team is 4 white dudes
Don't you mean 4 white, one green and one chick?
