there are web pages about this and many other Hollywood movies based on real events. The fact is hollywood likes to use real events as source material for screenplays but then freely change reality to suit an agenda of one kind or another. Its really dangerous misinformation and a crime against history. I'm pretty sure there is not a single hollywood movie that is an accurate depiction of true events or people from beginning to end.
Oppenheimer was close. Only things they changed were that Niels Bohr didn't almost eat the poisoned apple and Einstein isn't who Oppenheimer asked about the calculations
Who did he ask?
>Oppenheimer was close
So did it explain that the british had already done all the science and all the USA i.e oppenheimer was to do was to create the thing?
Oppenheimer was a jobber
Source?
Recorded history.
>Source
israeli revisionism.
Blacks still can't build basic bridges
except for when they do but whatever
>when they do
Source?
Some creative liberties were taken but it's fairly accurate historically. Without their genius it's debatable if space flight would be possible
>WE WUZ ROCKET SCIENTISTS 'N SHIET!
Zero percent. It's wish-fulfilment for unremarkable people, nothing more.
this. homies call math racist, no way they could even fill the application to work there
Every time I think of NASA I think of sassy black women.
are you seriously asking this question on Cinemaphile formerly Cinemaphile formerly Cinemaphile? It could've been 1 to 1 recreation from a real footage and people here would tell you it's fake
They showed us this in highschool back in 2017. All I remember about it was the b***h complaining about the bathrooms or something.
>b***h complaining about the bathrooms or something.
that's funny because the segregated bathroom scenes were one thing that was a complete lie. Of course hollywood wants people to learn history from their lies.
black women simultaniously not allowed to work while doing all the work, hollywood's favorite narrative.
Not even 1% accurate.
/thread.
>Hey Lawrence, check it out
>Damn. Where was that Black person hiding that figure?
Not my best. Needs to be workshopped. The spirit is willing but the imagination is weak.
well black women actually invented everything we have today but thousands of years ago
that was before yakub invented white people and used them to destroy wakanda
>totally black woman pictured next to a guy who is actually half-black half-white.
Is this a joke? How is this woman black?
I like how the Vanity Fair photoshoot made her look as black as possible.
That's George Zimmerman level photo manipulation but in reverse
>That's George Zimmerman level photo manipulation but in reverse
Please redpill me anon, I know who the zimzam is and I know he is a beaner but I am not a burger neither do I watch TV at all so idk what propaganda they were spreading
Just the usual.
israeli tricks.
They been planning the inevitable race war for so long.
>Zimmerman level photo manipulation
Holy shit i was trying to look for it
Look at these nigs, it was so fricking easy
What did this guy do?
He zim zammed and flim flammed a neeg on his way to his daily grape soda, watermaleon, rape and robbery job...
Many box noods were had
Why is she posing like a 1700s admiral
NAPOLEON IS MASTER OF EUROPE. ONLY THE BRITISH FLEET STANDS BEFORE HIM. OCEANS ARE NOW BATTLEFIELDS.
Even if she cured cancer
I do not want to look at this awful image lmao, she makes me sick
The one on the left has nice chocolate milkers
>blue eyes
It's literally completely made up
>AIIEEEEEEE, HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM, THIS MATH CAN ONLY BE SOLVED BY A HIGH MELANIN WOMAN!
>The actual woman was like 25% black at most, and could probably pass as white if not for her nose
>The woman was part of a fricking massive team that completed math equations and was by no means irreplaceable
>NASA didn't have segregated bathrooms because there were no black people even in the building
>I can't really find anything indicating the other two women even existed
I still remember how butthurt NASA was that they implied they had segregated restrooms though lmao. They gave them all the image rights and everything, and Shlomo thanked them by spitting right in their faces.
The precursor to NASA where the women worked at had segregated bathrooms. But they were never enforced.
All the segregated stuff was abolished in 1958 when NASA officially formed.
>I can't really find anything indicating the other two women even existed
You mean except for the wikipedia page that lists all their names? moron
The truth is that there were black mathematicians in NASA who did important work and faced some degree of discrimination.
But the true story is pretty unnotable and there isn't much point of a whole film depicting it.
>black mathematicians in NASA who did important work
No there weren't.
>Chuds really in denial about this
This is what extremism does to people
Human calculator is not an important job. And cannot be called a mathematician.
>Jackson worked as an engineer in several NASA divisions: the Compressibility Research Division, Full-Scale Research Division, High-Speed Aerodynamics Division, and the Subsonic-Transonic Aerodynamics Division. She ultimately authored or co-authored 12 technical papers for NACA and NASA.
Just because a black woman was smarter and more successful than you, doesn't mean you have to be mad about it.
The engineer should have been the main star and not the human computers
>This is the woman everyone's been calling white on here
Kek
African Americans are ~15% West Eurasian in ancestry, and thus they are honorary whites
They were actually called Computers.
Because they were given the formulas and the numbers that needed crunching. They were literally acting as Microsoft Excel before computers. That’s it.
you mean 'there was a 1/8th black girl who checked the calculus'
>checked the calculus'
>calculus
No it was like basic arithmetic shit. Stuff you could hire a monkey to do.
no, it was orbital mechanics, so it was calculus. Not very difficult, any second year engineer could do it
Literally no it wasn't. She and many others were there to check basic arithmetic coming out of computers because computers were new and couldn't be trusted.
>She and many others were there to check basic arithmetic coming out of computers because computers were new and couldn't be trusted.
Didn't you even watch the movie?
NASA didn't even have actual digital computers until the Apollo programme, and even then they used the Black staff to learn how to run them.
During Mercury and Gemini, all orbital calculations were done by hand, by a human computer, often someone of colour.
source?
source?
>water is wet
>source?
so no sauce. Got it. You're just making stuff up. Literally anyone could do the job but they hired black woman because they were so progressive in the 60s
Not taking sides with her but tokenism was definitely already a thing in the 60s.
no, it wasn't. If they could hire anyone else they literally would
it was
>I believe whatever hollywood tells me!
No, there were three Black folk who worked data entry as glorified secretaries. Nothing else.
Black folk couldn’t figure out two wooden circles on a stick before european colonizers showed up.
They literally asked one of the real people did you face any racism at NASA as a black woman and she said "no everyone was great, race was never even a second thought"
The best real NASA discrimination story was the black fighter pilot Ed White who had the same name and qualifications as one of the NASA astronauts but was denied a place because he was black. I'm sure they will make a movie about this its a perfect story for hollywood race propaganda.
It's a good thing they stopped discriminating against black people. That is totally leading to good and not bad outcomes
>Ed White
This guy ? who actually WAS an astronaut?
I thought it was Ed Dwight
you're right it was Ed Dwight.
started before NASA in any case
That's one hell of a quote to assign to Chuck Yeager on Wikipedia all because "filmmakers allege". What the frick.
Are you saying the filmmakers have some kind of agenda?!
ikr at least the author bothers to disclaim it and include the source. im curious what the revision history looks like for that section
Yeager was a pretty well known butthole.
bbbbbbased
To be fair Congress and the president crammed female fighter pilots down their throats and they crashed into the aircraft carrier, dying
>got a degree a year or two before trying to be an astronaut
Every other astronaut at the time blew his qualifications away, many with a masters or phd, and YEARS being a test pilot instructor.
This was the best Black they had, and if he was white, his packet wouldn't have even been opened - they were right to toss him.
>After resigning from the Air Force, Dwight worked as an engineer, in real estate, and for IBM.[9] He opened a barbecue restaurant in Denver.[21] Dwight was also a successful construction entrepreneur and occasionally "built things with scrap metal".
That's a lot of words to say 'Drug addict who steals catalytic converters'. No wonder they tossed this shucking and jivin' motherfricker out of NASA
He was dealing in junk.
He's literally Grandpa from The Boondocks
>you should hire incompetent black people because.. uh... you just should, ok?
DEI propaganda the movie, minorities trying to get special plrivileges and entitlements at the expense of the white man
most movies are DEI propaganda. If they thought they could get white people money they would make normal movies. They can only get blackrock loans so they make blackrock movies.
Why does the black one look cooler?
it doesn't, your fetishization and left wing homosexualry is showing tho
It's because he lied on his application and was stupid enough to think they won't find out
>who had the same name and qualifications as one of the NASA astronauts
I'm going to assume this is a lie
it was a mistake and I corrected it. His name was Ed Dwight not Ed White the astronaut that died in the apollo 1 fire.
That big scene about the bathrooms never happened
They used the whites only bathroom and no one said a thing or at least that's what I've read
This. My mom grew up in Virginia in the 50s and no one in the neighborhood actually enforced segregation. There were whites only drinking fountains and the black kids used them all the time.
>How factually-accurate was this movie?
Only one of them actually existed and she was 75% white.
That's called a 'Quadroon'
Star Wars Rogue Quadroon?
Not.
funfact, the shoehorned a totally fictional "hallofcost survivor" zielinski in the movie, which encouraging her.
Complete bullshit:
https://hiddenfigurescritique.com/
Basically, they got attention simply because they were black. That's it.
Three black women worked at NASA in the 60s.
That's about it.
There were a few black women who did math calculations for NASA out of thousands, and one of them (an octoroon at most) ended up managing a group of them.
Any more than that is made up.
WE
If you’re going to do it, do it right
I liked it. I'd frick Taraji Henson and the hot little singer.
