the ending is fricking stupid, basically every major character other than Jack is unlikable. The last season with the slaves is way too woke. Frick Max. The action stuff is good, but every season seems like 90% of the episodes are filler or them getting distracted.

What I saw of the early seasons was decent period drama, and even the time travel bits interesting (hard to do in general).
The real answer is because TV is too fragmented. Between network TV, cable TV, the big streaming channels, and the less streaming channels a show can run for a decade and you will never ever hear about it. Frickin thing sucks.
I watched it for the first few seasons. It's extremely comfy. You root for the romance and the setting is compelling. Women love imagining having multiple love interests. The Jamie character is extremely likeable and clearly designed to be every woman's dream (men want to be him yada yada)
