I bought 2 red pros like that and they were both bad straight from the factory. Ended up just buying cheaper 15tb wd external drives and shucking the cases. Works just fine and at half the cost (although slightly less space overall).
anyone know if those pajeet pcie sata extenders work? people tell me no just get hba sas or whatever but im not a fricking nerd i just need more slots for my drives
If you're not autistic, you can fit thousands of movies in the 2GB size range. If you're one of those tards who pretends he needs remuxes, have a nice day.
>two identical drives set up in RAID in case one shits the bed
or go RAID 0 and DOUBLE the amount of movies you can store. Redundancy is for testicles.
Having a RAID setup is so stupid. The likelyhood of a drive going bad suddenly is miniscule and you're putting unnecessary wear on both drives. It's a fricking gimmic. Just do a weekly backup or monthly even.
You should always have a 1 for 1 backup plan, 1gb for every 1gb you plan to use. If you don't just accept the consequences. I've owned hard drives that are still going that I got over 20 years ago. I think out of the two dozen hard drives i've owned in life 2 have gone bad and both were because i spilled something on them. Hard drive failures are exceptionally rare compared to what people believe.

I've had one fail on me but it was relatively new so I figure it was just a faulty drive. I managed to get about 70% of the shit on there but the rest was just unrecoverable.
over 9000
>22tb
Fricking shitloads
It's never enough though.
Tell em about it. I have 36tb just for my porn and space is running out.
not enough
all of them
how did they trade mark the word red? do israelites have zero honor?

I also like to live dangerously.
I hope you buy two so you can make a RAID

>Seagate says the 30TB Exos X Mozaic 3+ will offer a cheaper cost per terabyte than its existing models.
IT'S HAPPENING
Cool.
Will buy a couple of these when they launch soon instead of 22s
why not buy one for me you piece of shit?

Do you guys download and keep everything you can on your media servers or just the most kino of kino that you really love?
>tfw 6tb porn and 10tb tv drives are almost full
>my other several drives (about 40tb) are also at around 75% full
thousands of yify 10/10
one copy of Problem Child 2 (all you need)

It would be kinda foolish to put all your kinos on a single drive. You need at least two identical drives set up in RAID in case one shits the bed.

Where do you even backup to? I have like 3 drives and no backups

Let me guess, seagate.
Nah, a 4TB WD.
> 4tb mini sd cards
How in the goddamn?
How many terabytes would you need if you want to archive the whole library of mankind's movies and shows?
if you compress them into 1kb animated gifs 2.2e+10 assuming you don't also have your OS installed on it too
