How much longer until I can generate my own cartoons with AI? Also, how much longer until all industry artists (especially character designers and storyboard artists) are put out of work by AI? I would like to celebrate with beers when that happens. The decentralization of art can only be a good thing.

I think AI will get good enough to do a lot of industry jobs yes. Industry animation is bland and interchangeable which is perfect for AI replication. This is also why I think AI takeover won't really improve things either.

a couple years ago AI couldn't even form coherent images. It'll learn.

We don't mock AI cause it looks like shit (Well ok we do, but that's just a bit of extra flavor on top of the cake of frick that is the real issue with AI), we mock it because of the people using it

AI is a machine, you don't need to defend it or prove it's worth, yes maybe someday it really WILL be able to create something really impressive... But (you) still won't. You'll still be a mindless, soulles husk, eternally consuming the computer generated whoppy sloppy. AI is neither your enemy nor your friend, it's a piece of code, ask yourself why you rely on it so much.

well if a computer will ever be able to generate a feature length movie, and I don’t see why it wouldn’t be able to eventually, then it would be possible to use seed words in the movie generation. I've heard that people used to be afraid of computers. This was back around toe 50s-60s, when computers were big ominous things that took up the entire room. There was a lot of fear around what they could be capable of. Then the 70s came along, the first personal computers started being introduced, and people realized how boring and unmonstrous computers really were.

I think AI will probably turn out a similar way. Right now there's fear about it getting too smart and taking our jobs, but we'll eventually lose a lot of that fear as we come to better understand it and its limitations. AI will stop being the big scary Basilisk coming to conquer humanity, and instead become maybe a fun toy or something.
