the whole thing will take a couple minutes. don't think you're gonna die in a couple of minutes.
This is mental illness, there's nothing brave, heroic, manly, or human about this behaviour, just pure mental illness.
Climber girls are worse than horse girls.
How does that even happen? I know several people with surnames that are just their actual job or hobby. Is it sort of peer pressure >haha, Smith, you really should get into artisan metal working
>climb thing hundreds of people have climbed before you >WOOAAH SO IMPRESSIVE >it's just another generic white guy doing thing

I want to pretend Cinemaphile isn't becoming reddit
How many of those hundreds of people did it without any equipment aside from a bag of chalk and some water?
The answer is zero. Tall poppy syndrome isn't a Cinemaphile trait, you dumb roodypoo.
zero proof he's the first to do it in that fashion
What proof do you want? No one else has claimed to do it prior to him doing it. >expects others to make assumptions based on what he knows
I expect you not to be a fricking moron but that's obviously expecting too much.
NTA but pretending to be moronic is the lowest form of trolling

Yes Cinemaphile the place where so much as getting laid is seen as larp because channers are so autistic going outside is hard to believe. Also >generic white guy
You mean israelite, poojet / chang?
>Don't they fall to their deaths sometimes?
It's how all these free climbers end up dying. >Is there any kino of it?
There would be. Now that liveleak is dead wouldn't know where to go to see it.
The funny thing is that they never fall because they made a mistake or failed to get the hold but it's because of a rock unexpectedly breaking off or extreme weather changes. For them when they secure a hold they know they are safe so in that way the risk seems bigger than it actually is. They will also climb it a lot of times with gear so they know what to do. The chance of dying is actually pretty low for them. Driving a car also has risks albeit lower but we don't take that into consideration every time we decide to take a ride.
Why does this video feel like it was made by a schizo conspiracy theorist trying to dispell the mainstream narrative that these climbers never fell at all?
You dont really hear that much about the people who fall and die cause they go off solo into the mountains. Even if they fall to their death people might not ever know about it.
Alex from the climber in the OP has had a serious fall before too but he somehow survived due to luck.
I haven’t watched this so can someone tell me how it was filmed? Is there a guy climbing ahead of him pointing a camera down at him, and how is that guy climbing alongside him? And if that’s the case then didn’t the cameraman technically reach the summit first?
Zero. Honnold is a total beast. He's not the most technically skilled climber but he combines great assessment of his abilities, ridiculous crack skills, and utter fearlessness.
A lot of soloists die doing this. Potter and Bachar are the greats, but Croft is still alive and I hope Alex ends up like him.
Just check this to see what it's like for even an elite climber (I think that dude climbs like 15a/b) to try to free solo an easy route with Honnold. To put this in perspective, the Norwegian dude who is freaking out the entire time routinely climbs some of the most difficult routes in the world, but is having a mental breakdown on a 500 foot route usually climbed by weekend amateurs. Honnold soloed Freerider on El Cap, which is 12d/13a, a level rarely achieved by amateurs, over 3000 feet.
He just has the superior mental ability to anyone else. There's seriously something wrong with his brain, but it works out for what he chose to do with his life.
No he has a family now and promised his wife he would never do a big one again. If you watch the doc he says we would one day and the face on his wife is priceless
>rock climbing glue on their fingers
No such thing. They sometimes put superglue on their fingers to hold bandages/tape in place, or to fill in cuts/skin splits/etc. They're not gluing themselves to the rock, LOL. That makes no sense.
None of it. They're just mental these lads.
What happens if windy
You sleep harder
it would be cool to wear only a harness with not pants/underwear, then take a shit while hanging hundreds of feet up the side of the mountain.
That sounds like a great way to die from exposure
exposure to what?
?????????????
>in tent

you forgot
>wipe your ass for 16 minutes
they literally never take their harness off though. they literally sleep with it on and it's connected to double and usually triple redundant anchors
obviously fricking greenscreen. this tent is clearly on the ground, if it would be hanging in the bottom like a hammock.
it's not a tent
it's a portaledge
This is mental illness, there's nothing brave, heroic, manly, or human about this behaviour, just pure mental illness.
Climber girls are worse than horse girls.
kek frick these morons, why aren't they typing all their thoughts onto Cinemaphile instead

None. That's why it's impressive. This guy is an autist but I admire his courage/insanity.

I guess that means he wasn't the first because you are unable to prove it
>spoonfeed me
Take your spoon and use it to eat your dad's ass, homosexual.
>unable to prove something so simple
>resorts to ad hom
is this... is this a concession? He really wasn't the first? Big if true

You think people have climbed 3000 feet (almost 1km) before without equipment and just didn't say anything about it? You sound kind of autistic bro.
>i'm definitely not new i said the word guise!!!
Frick off
Make me.
>white guy thing
Whats race got to do with it boy?
Just a second-hand emotion.

he is making fun of you for being impressed at the actions of someone he doesn't respect

The alpinist
Most of the film is green screen work, clearly
I haven’t watched this so can someone tell me how it was filmed? Is there a guy climbing ahead of him pointing a camera down at him, and how is that guy climbing alongside him? And if that’s the case then didn’t the cameraman technically reach the summit first?
yes but with the rope, thats easy
Zero. Honnold is a total beast. He's not the most technically skilled climber but he combines great assessment of his abilities, ridiculous crack skills, and utter fearlessness.

>crack skills
what does that mean ?
still the greatest climbing video out there
>AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH
wdhmbt?
Even *he* is cgi. It was really Andy Serkis climbing it.
why were my hands sweaty while watching this?
mom spaghetti
Did he retire or does he still risk his life like a moron?

He would*
I recently found out these people put actual rock climbing glue on their fingers so now I'm less impressed
How much weight will the glue hold?
>rock climbing glue on their fingers
No such thing. They sometimes put superglue on their fingers to hold bandages/tape in place, or to fill in cuts/skin splits/etc. They're not gluing themselves to the rock, LOL. That makes no sense.
I watched a video of honnold pressuring some Norwegian into free climbing , shit was hilarious the guy is crazy
