$150 million, tops
It'll flop big time. Its been ages since the first one came out, and no one gave a shit about it afterwards. People will try to rewatch the first at home to get ready to see this sequel, but they'll get bored/distracted and turn it off and say "ehh I dont think Im gonna see the new one... I think maybe I'll just wait until its streaming."
When I seen avatar in the cinema I was like wow this must be some epic shit and it should have been perfect setting was drinking before we seen it but the entire time I was like is this it and by end I was rooting for the guy with a scar in a mech.
Avatar is not some moron franchise where normies will just go see it it was a hit film more than 10 years ago and its sad that James Cameron wants to finish with this it's even more sad that rather than fund a new idea they want to waste money on this bar the memes nobody cares.
pull up your diaper crybaby. I never said the film would only gross a dollar. those are just guesses. Optimistically we might see a 2 or even 3 dollar box office.

I’m on the fence but at minimum I think it’ll make at least a billion. With all the sequels I’m pretty sure Disney are going to market these films pretty hard.
It all hinges on that new 3D tech Cameron’s been shilling, if it’s great? Word of mouth might give it legs like the last two one. It’s only competition it’s Puss in Boots, and probably Shazam.
I plan to go watch the Avatar 1 re-release in September, and then I'll watch Avatar 2 in IMAX at the next town over, then maybe once or twice more at my local theater. So Cameron will get a solid $50 at least from me this year.
1.1 billion
And this is on the super optimistic side
There's no way it comes anywhere close to Avatar 1's gross, because general audiences no longer care about 3D and paying extra for it.
Doesn't matter if it's some kind of new and improved 3D or whatever. The novelty is gone
Avatar 1's box office came from strong word of mouth, little to do with pre release hype or trailer views. Avatar 2 is probably hoping for the same thing
I imagine most of Avatar's gross will come from China and India, because they seem less interested in capeshit, and can actually still appreciate good movies.
Chance that a particular movie will be #1 at the box office, 2022:
Top Gun: Maverick 10%
Minions 5%
Thor: Love and Thunder 25%
Black Panther 2 30%
Avatar 2 30%
The first Avatar was pretty boring and didn't break any new ground artistically or intellectually or anything. Just a really generic story with uninteresting characters. I don't get the hype.
>and didn't break any new ground artistically
It literally debuted the first real new theater technology since Color. Clearly you are just a zoomer not to know this, theaters across the world retooled their projection systems in anticipation of showing off the film.
Curiosity over the new 3D standard sold 2/3rds of it's tickets at least.
D) zero billion
E) negative zero billion
F) a dollar
This is what butthurt haters actually believe.
Cry more.

0/10
Highest grossest movie of all time.
Cry more.
If you think people want more avatar your deluded the whole avatar has 6 sequels green lit was a meme its a shit ferngully ripoff that's all.
zero.... trillion
i laughed
is it going to be in 3-D?
you know, with the glasses, where you can sort of see shit in front of you
but it hurts your eyes
anyway
Of course. It will be in a new type of 3-D mode that surpasses all previous versions. What would you expect from James Cameron. Gimmicks?
Good luck finding a new TV with that feature anymore.
I intend to buy a 2016 OLED 4k LG TV with passive 3D from my local area so I can experience peak 3D in the comfort of my sofa.
I envy that you found one for sale.
VR headsets are actually amazing for 3D blurays. highly recommended for anyone looking for a 3D screen
>but it hurts your eyes
what sort of garbage genes did you have to inherit for 3D glasses to hurt your eyes
I'm sorry for you

Plot twist they decide to re-release Top Gun Maverick the same week and Avatarded makes -0 dollars
Maverick wasn't good enough for a re-release though. I fell asleep halfway through.

Doesn't matter if it's some kind of new and improved 3D or whatever. The novelty is gone
>Taxpayers have so far paid more than $140 million worth of subsidies to help produce the upcoming sequels to the Avatar movie.
>You will never own $140,000,000 worth of naked blue women.
>trailer has half the views of Thor 4
just divide Thor's box office in a couple weeks
Avatar 1's box office came from strong word of mouth, little to do with pre release hype or trailer views. Avatar 2 is probably hoping for the same thing
17 trillion.
It will bomb harder than morbius and that will be the end of Hollywood trying to make high budget films

China hasn't been "most of American films gross" for a full year now.
