00s Mongul is a mid-tier GL threat, but even bush league GLs take him down now. He is slightly lesser physically imposing than Lobo. Pretty srong, but Sinestro ripped his arm off, Bzzd blew out his eye
2010s Mongul DC has been trying to hype up as this frickhuge major threat the United Planets is terrified to do shit about and lets him do whatever he wants. Is a kind of cult leader on Warworld now, and is slightly stronger than Superman, but still can't win a fight against him

That was kind of bullshit around 2014 or so when Mongul shows up, GLs take him down without too much trouble. Lobo shows up, he can somehow out will any GL and walk through constructs and kill any lantern he wants effortlessly.

He should be, but Starlin left DC around Crisis so he wasn't there to Mary Sue his OC anymore. When he showed up again in '89, his past was forgotten and he was much weaker.
He's one of the few baddies to consistently get Superman to pull on his big boy tights, so a pretty big threat. Of course, this means that he constantly jobs because hack writers want to sell their newest donut steel/fanwank interpretation of an existing character.

The original Mongul, aka Mongul I? Stronger and more durable than Superman. Mongul II, Mongul's son? Around Superman's level but weaker. Mongul I's descendants? Weaker than Mongul II and by extension Superman.

Who knows. The current Mongul is the descendant of the original Mongul I.
It was just the original from the 70s that Neron killed in the 90s. Then Jr appeared around 99-2000 and he was the one that fricked with the GLC and then Sinestro stuck him in the Central Power Battery. Then some new guy appeared around 2018 and the whole concept has just been fricked up. No one is 100% on what generation this guy is or if he is Jr or not.
