Invincible did alright but they also let each episode of that show go in for however long it needed so the total episode count didn't matter as much

Well, at least Butcher has a more cohesive reason for why he's going to murder most of the boys in the end. He's got like 12 or fewer months and his brain is swiss cheese.
Ryan is a kid and all but he's also a rape baby to a crazy guy who is also the son of another crazy guy. Boy had no chance to be mentally normal, he comes from a bad tree.
Butcher is going to kill Ryan and that will be the last straw to finally break him to end everyone else.
Putting Ryan in the finale was a contrivance and what’s worse is Butcher isn’t even rewarded for his restraint. The kids about to be a little punk because he can’t put two and two together and figure out Butcher only yelled at him to protect him and Homelander is a psycho. They also wasted Black Noir completely. After so much set up they did nothing interesting with him and simply wrote him out as clutter. I now almost prefer the clone ending because at least it followed through instead of just shrugging it off. Ultimate Noir just became a tool to make us dislike Solider Boy even more when MM’s backstory had already done that.
