I feel that in S01-02 it was acceptable and not cringeworth. You knew, but they didn't slap into your face, then in season 3 as his vampire hunter bloodline gained more prominence they started to force it more, this plus the exacerbation of other characters made me drop the show.
Last season was dumb. Them getting on the vampiric counsel and starting a night club was too much. I liked them being confused by modern technology and trying to adapt as outsiders. They steered it in the right direction this season
I like Kristen Schaal, but she got more screentime in season 3, even more in season 4, and then became part of the main cast in season 5. Then i realized I never wanted to see her on this show again.
Season 1 was fantastic and 2 was good but it was quite the same league.
Season 3's main problem was that a major wacky event had to be happening every episode, it wasnt just about vanpires being invited to a ball gameor getting a spam email, and they started what really hurt season 4 - breaking the main cast up. God only knows who thought have the main 3 barely interact with one another while the 4th didn't exist was a good idea, but they need sacking.
I've tried to rewatch in anticipation for S5 but dipped out in S3. It isn't very good abd knowing how bad I thought 4 was first time through I've not got the patience.
You know what annoys me that I need to get off my chest? So many people not only disregard Jemaine, but they act like Taika always has and STILL is heavily involved with the show. It just pisses me off how this is isnt even close to true.
>Taika
That israelite barely had any actual involvement in the movie, which is the best part of that entire franchise. It was almost all Jemaine and even he admits it.
Writers changed and it went to crap. Current season has been just average at best. You could tell immediately that the status quo would go back to normal after the season started with Guillermo getting a taste of vampire powers and the last episode had them blatantly go OH MAN A VAMPIRE DIES IF THEIR SIRE DIES. So Derek is going to die in the finale and Guillermo will lose his powers instead of dying too because he’s only half vampire. Was this ever a plot point before? Wouldn’t tons of vampires be dying all the time every time an older vampire died?
The show has always done this sort of bait and switch at the end of seasons
S1:Guillermo is born to kill vampires, will he kill them?
S2: Nope, he protects them. But he slaughters so many vampires at the end!
S3: And thats a good thing! The vampires are now new heads of the council, and Guillermo is a body guard.
Until he gets shipped off to England
S4: JUST KIDDING! Guillermo is here, surviving on Oreos AND he has a gay boyfriend uwu
At this point, Gizmo getting a taste of vampirism and backpedaling is almost expected
Jemaine left, women came in
This. You notice the sudden drop in quality between seasons because the guy who created and wrote the series leaves
new season has been great though
Is Guillermo gay flamboyant as frick still?
I think is more likely that he's getting fed up with the show.
>Is Guillermo gay flamboyant as frick still?
I never really thought he was that flamboyant. His sexuality is really only discussed once when he has a boyfriend but its never touched upon again.

/tv'reddit/ loves this show. If you hate this show, you're objectively a white supremacist CIS male.
Got woke.
As much as I love Matt Berry, this show ain't got shit on the movie. Next they'll be making a series based on Four Lions or some shit.

Name 1 show where this doesnt happen
name a show where it doesnt become shit fast or stays good more than 2 seasons?
this might be an unpopular opinion but futurama was consistent in quality keep in mind havent seen the recent reboot
Le Breaking Bad
Le Mad Men
>Matt Berry completely sidelined
What the frick is up with the writers?
He's doing all the stuff with Guillermo's half vampire thing, which is the biggest plot this season.
Last season was bad but this one fixed a lot of bullshit so it doesn't feel as off. The Urgent Care episode is the funniest they've written in years.
It was always shit

Kristen Schaal is physically repulsive. But, somehow she was somehow appealing in Flight of the Conchords. She's shit in everything else.
I only even still watch it because Nandor is good for at least one laugh an episode.

Jemaine was the actual creative force behind the movie and part of the show.
As soon as he was gone or less involved it went to shit

I never really cared past the original movie.

Nandor is going to use his last Djinn wish to turn Guillermo back to normal.

I like it
Don't care what local troons think about this comedyslop since it serves its purpose
