How the frick does Peter Parker have the money to move to a new apartment in Manhattan just like that?
I thought the whole point was that he was poor.

His wife is an internationally famous super model and actress at this point in the story.
Fricking moronic.
No it's not, MJ is the jackpot and hot as frick, but you're right it did take away from the grounded nature of Peter's normal life.
How new?
>the incredibly hot love interest having a model job
>moronic
No, having MJ work in a store or as a reporter is moronic. She's the fricking jackpot, of course she'll make it as a supermodel and low-grade actress so she can pay their bills while Peter saves lives.
Was it a producer? I fricking loved that storyline as a kid because it was a problem for MJ and Peter Parker, not Spider-Man, but I only remember it being a mysterious stalker to make it harder to deal with. Maybe he had a grand reveal later and I just forgot that part, or didn't read that issue.
IIRC the stalker and the kidnapper were two separate people giving MJ problems at the same time. The kidnapper was the rich guy who owned the building Peter and MJ were living in, and evicted them, and somehow used his wealthy and influence to get MJ fired from the daytime soap she was an actress on. He later got killed by the stalker before that guy was in turn dealt with.
Then there was that other stalker that kidnapped MJ, faked her death and kept her in his dungeon for about a year, but it wasn't a sex dungeon, he was actually obsessed with Peter.
>internationally famous super model and actress
Meaning she took producer wiener to hit the majors.
You aren't wrong, she is cheating on Pete all the time during this arc, but Pete has Black cat so they're ok with the arrangement.
Holy porn addiction
Hollywood’s fricked up, dude.
>my headcanon fueled by my hatred of a single character is fact
have a nice day. You're the worst fricking type of trash on this site. The type that has absolutely nothing of worth to say but will still try to enforce their moronic opinions which everyone KNOWS are false just to frick with people. Die, homosexual.
It's not stated as true in the story, however, Marvel has always skewed closer to reality in how they operate. The casting couch has been a thing as long as Hollywood has operated, and there's a chance MJ would have needed to use it advance her career. If it makes you feel better, chances are Wonder Man and Big Bertha from the GLA also got fricked by producers.
While you're arguably free to have this as your headcanon for lesser characters whose lives and careers aren't covered in as much regular monthly detail, with someone like MJ where anything important that happens with her getting covered in stories, it's a lot harder to believe something like that would have happened without it being addressed or mentioned, even if the story addressed in a more PG sort of way.
If you want to believe Big Bertha and Wonderman had to suck off Hollywood producers to get work, go ahead.
Wasn't a producer sexually harassing and even stalking her a storyline at the time?
Even the male actors have to suck wiener. Plenty of gay producers in the industry.
95% of every actor in Hollywood is gay and even the straight ones have sucked producer dick at some point, they don't hire you in to movies in the first place if you aren't vetted. It's basically the Starlight scene in The Boys episode one, except Starlight actually sucks everyone's dick
that's sexy sleepwear
I'd be careful carrying on like this, Dan. People on Twitter are starting to connect the misogynist shit you spew on here to your real identity.
have a nice day moron simp
It was the early 90s, so crime was still insane in Manhattan and rental prices were far more affordable. It hadn't been turned into the playground for the rich yet.
On top of that they were living the DINK lifestyle, two incomes, no kids to drain it away. Plus help from their relatives.
Wasn't MJs dad an abusive drunk or something?
And Aunt May never has any money.
Mary Jane was literally an internationally famous super model and actress at this point, she was paying for it herself.
So dumb.
MJ lived with her Aunt Anna, just like Peter lived with his Aunt.
MJ ran away from home and lived on her own for a bit
>they were living the DINK lifestyle, two incomes, no kids to drain it away
Peter had no regular income.and was living in a small apartment and barely struggled to pay the rent on that, he was almost always months behind until he managed to sell some photos to JJJ on the second to last page of a story. He had no relatives to help him, in fact half the time it was him helping out Aunt May whenever he had problems. MJ was living a high roller life and could get into an exclusive ball in the Waldorf overnight with literally two phone calls (it was either in the story with Chance and the Life Foundation, immediately pre-Venom, or the 6-issue mini with Silver Sable where Red Skull tried to get the USA into war with Symkaria, I forgot exactly which).
like the other anon said, MJ was a supermodel making a ton of money at this point, and she was this up until some spurred fanatic destroyed her career because she wouldn't suck his wiener. At that point they couldn't keep the rent and moved to live with Aunt May. A bit after that they dealt with the creeper dude and she started acting in soap operas, while moving into the Harry Osborns attic.
how did they get away qwith it
By that point pete was a staff photographer for a major metropolitan news paper and had a book of his pictures coming out on top of his wife being a successful model meant they had the income for an investment like that
The building also happened to be owned by an evil rich guy who was obsessed with MJ, he kidnapped her, Peter managed to rescue her but there wasn't enough evidence for the police to charge the bad guy, who then evicted Peter and MJ from his building. Harry Osborn then let them stay in a building he owned.
It was a better time
They got a rent controlled apartment? Rent is as outrageous in the marvel universe due to regular alien invasions, super-villains, and whatever disaster of the week?
You'd think rent and demand would be lower in Marvel Manhattan since it gets invade by aliens or sucked into a demon dimension every other week.
They purchased one and struggled hard to pay the mortgage.
lol the colorist forgot the bottom half of her hair in the first panel
Todd McFarlane is not a good writer.
Todd was only the artist on those stories, and never had any control over MJ's career or where she and Peter were living during the stories he did write.
