So, I was disconnected entirely, but it turns out the comments were bursting about people getting mad at the grannie, because apparently, all that bad treatment Oscar got from his mom was supposed to be justified from her backstory. I don’t remember what caused people to focus on this, but apparently, the comments were all about it, until they disabled them for this episode on specific.
Oddly enough, the second part never came out when it was supposed to air a week later, they never explained it and simply stated that the season was completed after weeks of silence.
my guess is they decided to rework part 2 and use it as the opener for Season 2

The reboot/sequel series made the abuse Oscar got from Suga nastier and Suga in general was a b***hier version of herself. It was wholesome to see Oscar actually get much needed support

Didn't the original show have a similar plot to this? I remember Sugah Mama had a sister that tried to kiss up to Oscar as well. But in that one it was entirely about protecting Oscar over her personal feelings, because she knew that her sister was a snake that didn't actually care for him.

They fricked up by having them like Oscar. Oscar was critically under appreciated. It's fine when he is getting comeuppance for his greed or lack of hubris but he gets shit on even when he is in the right. Probably a lot of people waiting for his time in the sun. Plus sugga rarely gets shit
From what I'm guessing, the writers wanted Oscar to simply be the butt of the joke where everything is at his expense and he always gets the slapstick but at this point it just feels mean spirited as all frick and even the audience of this show are calling it out. Surprised that they got so salty about that critique that they shoved their head in the sand to avoid hearing anymore
I always thought it was weird that oscar got so much shit but his slacker brother was the favored son between them. So it gives the impression that sugga just gave oscar shit(for "comedy") and it wasnt out of that stupid family drama retcon.
