Hyperbole is not your strong suit. Nowhere in the first world is that at all a thing. Cost of transport alone would accrue more than that. Restaurants getting their product directly through a local source would still pay a premium.

      Kitchen reality:
It's not a difficult job, it's a nonstop job. It's honestly similar to what I imagine working in a sweatshop factory is like. The difference is that instead of performing one task repetitively nonstop for hours you are doing 20+ tasks on a loop mediated by timing processes correctly. The "difficulty and stress" of the kitchen is just the unending and zero downtime nature of the job. Chefs are stressed because you don't get breaks.

Chef culture of drugs and alcohol in pop culture is so dumb. So many moron losers with zero personality start working in a kitchen and then decide that they must adopt this persona to give themselves a semblance of a personality.

            Anonymous

2 millions that won't be his if the restaurant doesn't make a profit. I'll agree the first season does go out of its way to paint Carmy as the bad guy in an overextended (particularly when she straight up stabs cousin in a very basic affront to kitchen knife safety), but the dynamic is obvious. Carmy is deeply in debt and clearly cannot manage the kitchen on his own. Sydney is someone who has experience and skill (in a time when restaurants are desperate for workers) and has to shown commitment to help building the bear from the ground up (she won't be taking a pay cheque for an extended period of time). They partners in a financial sense, but Carmy needs Sydney as a support, while Sydney needs carmy to reach that star dream.

Season 2 just came out Thursday. The show is good, Idk why the subhumans here are enraged by it. Maybe because they can’t afford to eat their food? The sight of non-white people makes them froth at the mouth? Each character is well-rounded and has their flaws and strengths. The camera moves in a way they don’t like? Basically if you’re not clinically autistic you will enjoy what you see.

Cinemaphile losers hate The Bear for two reasons: the show made fun of 'incel qanon Cinemaphile' losers in episode 1, and the show has brown people who are good characters

          >the show made fun of 'incel qanon Cinemaphile' losers in episode 1,
I didn't care about them making fun of me, I was just annoyed by how try-hard and cringe that scene was

          >show is a drama of restaurant industry in Chicago
          >black/brown people “shoehorned”
          choose 1
maybe the show just isn’t for you buddy :^)

Chicago has a large black population, but they are mostly segregated in their ghettos. There's no reason to have a bunch of them working at an Italian Beef restaurant in a majority-white neighborhood other than shoehorned diversity.

Literally fails at every dish she makes in season two, not just a little either they spit everything she makes out, everything. Then she finally gets her first chance at being an expo for a small group of close friends and family. Melts down within the first run of tickets. Is replaced by someone with an incredibly small amount of experience gained the previous week. Causes personal problems and can't control outbursts with nearly every employee.

That's true, but what does she add to the table that Carmy can't do it without her? Sure she breaks his balls... but she delivers nothing else. Not a reliable person, she'll just walk at any time. Creates drama for drama's sake. Is arrogant and condesending and now she can't even cook edible food or expo without instantly melting. Like I get that all the characters are very combative in this show, but she plays devil's advocate everytime antagonizing situations and belittling those she views as beneath her. Like if they were just trying to make an unlikable character mission accomplished. She doesn't even treat her father with respect when she's already lost her mother and should know how great it is she has him.

I know everyone says episode 6 with the Christmas dinner was the best, but I preferred episode 7 with Richie. Yes, it's not as "emotionally complex", yes, it's "narratively straightfoward", whatever. I just liked seeing Richie find some purpose and happiness in his life. I've rewatched that episode several times, whereas if I try to rewatch episode 6 I have to mentally prepare myself for too much heavy drama

Yeah episode 6 was good. Richie just being in everyone's way and an butthole was developed more here and shows he doesn't feel like has a purpose within the restaurant since his wife and kid are basically moving on from him. Very good writing for his character

It does not, that’s not the focus. It does depict many businesses shutting their doors, however. Maybe once The Bear is fully realized in S3 they will be robbed, we’ll have to wait and see.

I made one thread earlier today, and have posted comments in two threads prior to this. The show is popular and people want to discuss it. You’re fricked now though, homosexual. Should have taken that aspirin and kept scrolling like I told you. Seethe.

You aren't people and 90% of these forced shill threads are just shitposting and arguing.

The sooner we're able to discuss the finale, the sooner the threads will end. But you have no self-control not to click and shit everywhere, so shilling it is. Prepare your anus.

You're an outsider shill. No matter how many threads you make, you're only going to garner more animosity.

It's just stress and panic attacks, his brother killed himself and his mother is a drunk, he has the right to be a little off in the head without being a nutcase

I think it's more than stress.
        He legitimately has episodes.

Also I don't think his mom is an alkie but she is DEFINITELY mentally ill and the booze did not help the situation in the Christmas episode.

With boomers, these afflictions often go hand-in-hand.

          >I don't think his mom is an alkie

Sugar was pouring wine down the drain while Donna's back was turned in that Christmas episode, if you reach the point where your family has to hide and destroy alcohol so that you can't get it, you're an alcoholic
