      > inexplicably competent
Not Miles, he leans on others
      > liked or respected by most other characters
      Nope, he earned his relationships
      > gifted with unique talents or powers
He's just AN alt-universe spiderman with electric ability
      > extremely attractive
      He's a normal kid

People keep proving that the term "Mary Sue" is moronic and should've never been invented because it's so easily misused. It's misused to the extent that it fails at being a literary criticism. We need more surgical tools for criticizing things instead of using this stupid term.

If Miles is a Mary Sue, then Superman, Batman, Iron Man, Dr Strange, Peter Parker, Fantastic Four, Xmen, Deadpool, Thanos, Mr.Miracle, etc, etc are bigger Mary Sues.

        >Not Miles, he leans on others
He has ridiculous powers from day one and uses them to easily resolve conflicts that killed a veteran Spider-Man on day two
        >Nope, he earned his relationships
Peter wants kids all of a sudden.. because he met Miles, Gwen is ready for love again all of a sudden.. because he met Miles, every villain addresses him as Spider-Man from the get-go.. because they met him, he inspires the Spider Society to stand up to Miguel.. by meeting them
        >He's just AN alt-universe spiderman with electric ability
He's THE ANOMALY who has all of Peter's powers PLUS invisibility, PLUS a get-out-of-jail-free card venom blast that can take down anything and anyone depending on the situation, this is far worse when you expand the scope beyond the movies
        >He's a normal kid
Every other character in the movies has an exaggerated caricature face except for him who's the closest to the standard heroic proportions in art

        >If Miles is a Mary Sue, then Superman, Batman, Iron Man, Dr Strange, Peter Parker, Fantastic Four, Xmen, Deadpool, Thanos, Mr.Miracle, etc, etc are bigger Mary Sues.
Not really because Mary Sues are INSERTED into existing settings, like Miles is, all of those you brought up had their own stories and settings that revolved around them, if you added a Superman-like character as a sidekick to Spider-Man he'd be a Mary Sue, but in the setting he created he's just the mythical Hero

Pretty sure Deadpool started as a c-list villain in X-men comics and is literally part of the weapon x program that gave him powers based on wolverines healing factor.

Fair point. Event then, he didn’t really beat 2099, only stunned him long enough to get away. That and a helping of trickery.

He outran and outsmarted every Spider-Man ever, I'm pretty sure the intended reading of the scene is that he "beat" Miguel as well, especially since he says "I beat them all" at the end of the movie
