Iverson invented a reimagining of what a point guard should do. Back in the 80’s, it used to be like every player was tall, or just insanely talented. He took advantage of being shorter. But you really only need like 1 position to move the ball around, and strike at the basket, and that’s the only advantage a point guard has. If you don’t have a tall center,’you’d get fricked on by a team that did. You need like 4 giant players, and only 1 “short” player, which is still almost always 6’0” minimum. So there’s millions of guys competing for the point guard spot, and the other 4 positions have a lot less people really competing for them. Lebron James who is probably the best rounded player overall is 6’8”. Curry is probably the best point guard, but it’s not really the most valuable position. It’s the most niche though
