There's too many bat characters as it is.
DC wants so desperately to make him their Miles Morales but even normalgays can see he's superfluous and redundant.
Issue is bruce already has dick, Jason, and Tim being entrenched in Bruce's history. Miles didn't have that obstacle to piggyback off of peter

The current best suggestion I've heard is breaking him off from the Bats and having him act as a sidekick/partner to Black Canary. Another gotham meta that could use the investigative skill/genius Signal gets from being basically Tim Drake.

I still don’t understand them not wanting to do ultimate style brand. Marvel has done it and was successful, then ended it. Now they are bringing it back (granted it’s new universe) but hype is building for it. Seems like no brainer to try it.

they did it because it ran out of steam. Not one of the ultimate version of any arc is thought of anymore. Once they made their mainline books a priority, their was no use for it.
Issue isn't even classic stories, it's brand dilution and stagnation. There's too many characters with too much going on at once, and none of it feels important. A full wipe restart focused on a handful of core characters followed by expansion does a lot to fix that.

Nah. Issue with new52 was that it half-assed on the rebooting. If they folded shit way the frick down to like 3 core titles, ran things from the origin forward, and then slowly branched out it could work. Instead we got... well, we got the new52.

Genuinely I think the premise of a college aged metahuman who protects Gotham during the day is good.
(It's certainly a more unique status quo than most of the other bat family members have right now)

I agree with this Anon. The Signal is a unique concept. He can stand alone and exist in the periphery of the Batman books like Huntress does. Dial back the bullshit that last writer did with his parents, keep him street level, and let him work the day shift.
