I'm so desperate for a good NEW animated show that I might actually check this out....maybe...frick there has literally only been about three good shows since 2009. That's fricking embarrassing....those being Primal and Unicorn Warriors eternal and I guess invincible...even then Unicorn was like a 7 at best and Invincible looks like it's turned into a complete joke in the second season.
It's good, especially if you like xmen, the animation looks good at times, bad at others
Animation is 10/10 when it matters. They stiff on dialogues, not sure if they did that on purpose as a homage to the old show or they doing what nips are doing where they pour their budget per episode on the actions scenes. That webm on storm looks good and any moron telling you otherwise is blind
This show was for boring normalgays anon. Thre school shit of X-Men is supposed to be in the background of the setting for worldbuilding, not the central focus.
I cant believe grown-ass people watch this shit, and then have the mentality to crave a new children's cartoon

like a little baby who needs food put in his mouth by an airplane spoon.
I refuse to believe it...
Storm lost her powers (for 2 episodes) and then regained them (somehow, it's not really explained how) and now she seems to be more powerful and can grow her hair and make clothes up out of thin air like sailor fricking moon, somehow.
>and then regained them (somehow, it's not really explained how)
She simply overcame the historical oppression of the mind, or something. The writers were not the good writers this episode.
>You can be either an activist or a good writer, not both
Sure, but you see in other episodes like the Jubilee one that the writers were willing to write a PoC as a selfish brat who needed to grow the frick up, even making the rich kid who hates his mutant powers seem more mature.

Quite telling everyone shitting on the new episode actually watched it, people just vaguely defending the concept of the X-Men as being proto-woke obviously haven't watched the show much or at all.
>and then regained them (somehow, it's not really explained how)
Forge's procedure from a couple of episodes ago had actually worked and it was just psychological that her powers hadn't come back.
Switching a word for a similar sounding one is not the mark of a pajeet. It's a mistake that happens for thinking phonetically as you type and thus, it ironically requires a certain level of fluency.
The moronic thing is everyone in-universe acting like mutants are a separate species or something when many of their parents are regular people without powers. Mutants also give birth to normal people without powers.
>also everything in the past was sexist, trasphobic, homophobic, backward, bigoted, wrong... but everything always agreed with my current day point of view
It might be the first thing I've seen in years that actually felt like genuine capeshit and not some watered-down normalgay slop. Also rips a lot of it's ideas from one of the better X-men runs mostly.
I've noticed a lot of cartoons have started to look choppy for some reason. The new invincible season and hazbin both had it, so I just assumed it was a prime video thing until this show.
Yeah I can't really figure out why because if you go back and look at 90s cartoons they're animated on the same 12fps stuff to save money. Its just more pronounced in modern animation for some reason.
>the story is good
'97 totally jumped the shark in episode 6 unfortunately. Everything I loved about the first 5 episodes, the great character-driven writing that treats everyone like real people with real problems and real flaws, even all the women in the cast which was really surprising to me, is all but gone here. Characters in episode 6 just give very forced, on the nose speeches disconnected from the actual plot going on as stand-ins for the writers' ideology, there is even a scene where the audience is treated like children that need a "lesson" on space colonialism, The resolution to the previously itneresting Storm arc is extremely flat and the reveal about who was behind what happened to Genosha is anti-climactic as hell. Oh, and the Prof should not have returned, especially not so soon, the show was much better without him and having Magneto taking his place.
Half of it was about storm. How is she out of place? Also xavier's shit wasn't done. We know he's going to show up soon since the shi'ar took him and shi'ar stuff are bound to get involve.
>Half of it was about storm. How is she out of place?
Thre writers tried to tie Storm's insecurities with muh indian reservation historical oppression with muh space empire is le racist into one grand narrative about colonialism all to bypass actually giving Storm a believable arc for how she got her powers back. You are supposed to simply infer that she thought, "Frick you whitey and your devil bird, you ain't holding me back no more!" is the reason she had a magical girl transformation at that moment, but that isn't the reason, they don't have have a real reason becauase the writers gave up so they plastered the episode with their garbage to fill those holes.
This. Storm was a real character in previous episodes. In this episode she is just a symbol and not a person who overcomes a real obstacle in her life.
what are you talking about schizo. The historical burial ground was mentioned in passing as they were in it. The lie she told jean and also to herself saying she wants to be human when in fact she's a god is what tampered her power along with the neutralizer. She simply whole heartedly accepted her godlike powers in the end. You guys really are reaching far to make it pol and it's sad.
X-men have always been woke anon. The show was about mutant rights and shit. That being said if you grade everything new by wokeness, you are going to be disappointed.
I don't know they always made it open the interpretation that mutants could be a seen as either a stand-in for persecuted minorities or belittled elites who are getting shat upon by the people they're trying to help
Can I ask why this board is desperate for this show to be woke? It felt like when it was released and revealed not as woke there was more of a breakdown than if it WAS woke. Whats the desperation over this show needing to be woke? Shouldn't you be glad its not?

the animation is 2000's era Flash tier, most of the voice actors are clearly phoning it in, the story is a mess, characters don't act like they should (shouldn't Rogue of all people WANT a device that nullifies her powers?) and it's just a mess
>shouldn't Rogue of all people WANT a device that nullifies her powers?
So you didn't see the original series, she would be the first angel of death for trying to lose her powers but she changed her mind and decided she is her powers and she will use them to help mutants and humans and those collars are the stupidest thing on X men
But I did see the original series, zoomzoom. There's multiple episodes that are focused on her not being able to connect with people or do normal tasks and how much it affects her. It's even a central theme of her character in the comics.

Mostly.
A bit of desexualization. Female faces are a bit masculinized and male faces a bit demasculinized.
Intentional or not, it's clearly a show designed by gays and women.
Magneto looks like fricking Granny Goodness
I like the design for most characters, it gets an 8 mostly because of Magneto, he just looks strange. The rest of the cast has is at least a fairly accurate rendition of the character from some original media with a little zest to make them more original looking. Magneto just looks weird to me and almost makes me think he's a self-insert for someone because he looks so much differently from anything we've ever seen. They were trying to go with a Joseph vibe and failed.
I still don't understand why they're including the gambit cuck shit, yeah it was just hallucinations but the way actual rouge was talking to magneto they were clearly implying a connection >it happened in the comics
yeah and everyone hated and thought it was nonsensical as frick. Gambit and rouge had an entire thing built up over the course of 90s x men, does it just not matter here anymore?? I haven't caught up to the show yet so I don't know if there are any further developments or plot regarding this
I'd say it holds up, I was impressed with a lot of it & 'Remember It' felt really amazing & just loving having Sinister around, hoping for a little apocalypse. I've hate watched Star Wars shit & this was a much more pleasurable experience. Last episode had me wanting more, people forget this is based off a comic book, so sometimes yes, they will just change appearance/costume.
I swear the way some of you go on about this its like you want the show to be woke and disappointed it wasn't woke/wasn't as woke as you thought it'd be hence the weird reaches regarding Gambit and that 3 second scene with Morph where he makes a joke in the shower as proof "They're gonna push a gay couple storyline with Wolverine"
about 70% kino, 20% cringe, 10% woke
thats too much wokeness
capeshit for gay morons
The MCU is dead

she can grow hair on command since the 90s too?

Forge's procedure from a couple of episodes ago had actually worked and it was just psychological that her powers hadn't come back.
At least they gave her Storm's best outfit. I hated her original 97 look.
it's decent
Watched two episodes. Wasn't bad but wasn't good either
Wait, when was it not woke? It’s the fricking x-men they have always been gay with there messaging
>There
GOOD MORNING SIR!
Switching a word for a similar sounding one is not the mark of a pajeet. It's a mistake that happens for thinking phonetically as you type and thus, it ironically requires a certain level of fluency.
matter of perspective
the majority of mutants are genetically superior to humans, so if anything, humans are the "endangered minority"
>genetically superior
The main ones are, but a lot mutant abilities are also just super disabilities as well.
No because they aren't the minority, slaves were also genetically more fit for laborious physical tasks.
The moronic thing is everyone in-universe acting like mutants are a separate species or something when many of their parents are regular people without powers. Mutants also give birth to normal people without powers.
Only if you use the far leftist definition of woke that tries to show their extremism in a good light
>it was always woke
>we just need to change some things here and there, and over there, because... eh... it was always woke
>also everything in the past was sexist, trasphobic, homophobic, backward, bigoted, wrong... but everything always agreed with my current day point of view
I honestly am so fricking tired of homosexuals like that anon saying all of this older media was "always woke".
It's in their nature to play the "mine, now!" game and lying until it is.
They are parasites

I'd say it holds up, I was impressed with a lot of it & 'Remember It' felt really amazing & just loving having Sinister around, hoping for a little apocalypse. I've hate watched Star Wars shit & this was a much more pleasurable experience. Last episode had me wanting more, people forget this is based off a comic book, so sometimes yes, they will just change appearance/costume.
>I haven't watched the original show and I'm tired of shitposting about fallout, the thread
Rouge is for the streets
Gambit deserved better
Frick this gay show
Why do I keep seeing the same conversation over and over and over again about if this show is woke or not
I swear the way some of you go on about this its like you want the show to be woke and disappointed it wasn't woke/wasn't as woke as you thought it'd be hence the weird reaches regarding Gambit and that 3 second scene with Morph where he makes a joke in the shower as proof "They're gonna push a gay couple storyline with Wolverine"
