It would just be 2 and a half hours of the half-monkey having sex with the girl while the other guys waited for their turn.
The idea would be to make the audience suffer because I hate them.
>cast a diverse array of bipoc >cgi their mouths off >have them them be presented with real world acts of discrimination but white supremacist power structures prevent them from voicing their opinions
It’s too short for a film really. I guess as they’re traveling you could do flashbacks to show AM being created and taking over the world. Drip feed the background info instead of doing an exposition dump. That would pad out the story a bit and break up the monotony of the whacky torture scenes.
I would combine Isaac Asimov's "The Last Question" and "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream" into one screenplay. It would focus on a computer that evolved over eons into a Cosmic AC, tasked woth learning how to reverse entropy. But something goes wrong, the impossible task breaks the AC, and it begins to torment all the humans across the universe who exist in the form of data in a Matrix-like network, their sleeping bodies littering every solar system. It would be about humans trying to break free so they could fix the AC and reverse entropy.
Try to combine elements of the story and the game. I'm thinking a 5-part miniseries where each episode focuses on one character's torment. Obviously you keep the ending from the book.
>Keep the ending
Leaving the human race is cryostatsis on the moon while the earth is magically terraformed is moronic as shit. They need to rewrite the ending badly
Is that mentioned? Haven't read it in forever. Either way it doesn't really have an impact. The point is Ted kills the others and turns into a forever slug.
>"Trailing along miles behind Ellen, I could see her every now and then, crashing into metal walls and surging on, with all of us screaming in the freezing, thunderous hurricane wind that would never end and then suddenly it stopped and we fell. We had been in flight for an endless time. I thought it might have been weeks. We fell, and hit, and I went through red and gray and black and heard myself moaning. Not dead"
genuinely, how do you show them being flung for weeks in a hurricane without it being moronic
Action shot of them falling through the earth. Show them violently falling for a while. Exterior shot showing the sun setting. Back to them falling. When it's all over have them say something like, "How long were we falling? 2 days?" "No, felt like a week."
Ngl this was the worst thing I’ve ever read >DOOOOOD HOT MONKEY DICK RAPE >DOOOOOD ROBOT TORTURES THEM IN HIS TORTURE SIM FOREVER ANNNNND THATS IT!
I honestly expected way more given the hype but maybe I’ll get around to playing the game which looks more fleshed out
I would not.
short arthouse film.
>how would you adapt it?
Very carefully.

AM please leave
Idris Elba as AIM and as all of the survivors

Animated. Low frame change, high art quality. Heavy on the score.

like this?
Never seen that before, but from the skipping through I did, yes exactly.
I wouldn't, I would listen to what he had to say, and that's what no one did
Hey!
Is this book any good? What am I in for?
It’s not a book is a short story. Just read it, should only take you maybe an hour.
its a great short story but read along with the audiobook.
What's the deeper meaning and message of the story?
>Harlan Ellison
>deeper meaning
Nihilism mostly
Don't ever develop AI.
>read along with the audiobook
Do zoomies really?
>not listening to one of the greatest prose performances of the 20th century
It's a short story it's ok, for a better experience read a boy and his dog.
>a boy and his dog
The true patrician’s Ellison story. Surprisingly decent film adaptation as well, if you haven’t seen it.
I saw it, it was crazy they even did it. It's like a movie that could not exist today.
Adventure Time was based on it
Yep, very loosely based it was a fun show for me at least.
And the love interest was literally made of chewing gum, I was disappointed when Jake didn't eat her at the end

Actually a good idea, albeit reddit and memey
Reddit and memey? It is just 2 stories from the mid century combined.
I am a israeli transgender woman and would like to fund your film, granted I assume all licensing rights. How do you feel about an all black cast?
If I get paid you can rape my idea into the ground, sure. But I already typed out the premise so you don't need me.

That's from the game not the book.
Nope. Reread the book
Is that mentioned? Haven't read it in forever. Either way it doesn't really have an impact. The point is Ted kills the others and turns into a forever slug.
>The point is Ted kills the others and turns into a forever slug
That's a much better ending idea. That's what they should use for the adaption
>
What?
Hmm, instead of a film, I think I'd adapt it into a point n click adventure game.
Not sure if you were being ironic, but that exists.
I was, hence why I said it 🙂
Don’t worry, anon, I got it. It was pretty funny.
Also hence what I said. "Not sure if..."
James Cameron would probably plagarize and make a movie. Although this time Harlan isn't here to sue his ass open. RIP.
You'd need to adapt the video game, the short story doesn't lend itself for adaptation.
It kinda do tho. It's Lord of the Rings except instead of throwing a ring into a volcano they beat each other to death with a can of baked beans.
Yeah but the game gives each character a backstory and motivation, even AM. The book barely goes into them and is mostly just torture porn.
USS Callister episode of Black Mirror was a decent attempt.
I'd flip all the character genders and only shoot the rape/orgy scenes.

I instantly thought of Spy Kids when I read that so I'm afraid this will have to be adapted into a kids movie.
Three words: Fade to black.
Action shot of them falling through the earth. Show them violently falling for a while. Exterior shot showing the sun setting. Back to them falling. When it's all over have them say something like, "How long were we falling? 2 days?" "No, felt like a week."
Just make the entire film stop motion
I would make an animated adaptation as a pic rel. It would be very difficult to do it in live action
Saw but with an Artificial Intelligence
I'd make the Nazi scientist the most sympathetic character.
Ngl this was the worst thing I’ve ever read

>DOOOOOD ROBOT TORTURES THEM IN HIS TORTURE SIM FOREVER ANNNNND THATS IT!
I honestly expected way more given the hype but maybe I’ll get around to playing the game which looks more fleshed out
Yea the game definitely gives it way more lore and character
A beta male like you wouldn't get it
It’s basically a terrible black mirror episode which is for gays i.e. (You)
>We will never see the darker more unpleasant cut bits from the video game
Sick fricking piece of shit
Is that a... psychotic computer???
AAAA I'M GOING INSANE
i'd make it better
happier
