Is this the thread where someone write a greeny3xt about Clark getting assraped by an alien warlord as a show of dominance, but then Clark sucked the rapist into his ass using the clench of his mighty Kryptonian colon, compressing him into a tiny diamond for Lous?

He was fine; the mild-mannered farmer who was a loving father, a respecting husband, while also being Superman was his next evolutionary step. Balancing his duties as a father and as a husband with his duties to helping others.

Lois still got to be the fiery reporter, Jon allowed dads to see there sons or sons to see themselves, and Superman wasn’t tied down; Rebirth & CW’s Superman & Lois understood this… but then Bendis & Taylor shat all over it

Ive thought about this a lot. You really have to emphasize the fact that his destiny was to come to earth and lead it into a utopian future as a new krypton, and him absolutely hating and despising this destiny and just wanting to be a man that help those around him

Ask and answer the question, What does it mean to be the man of tomorrow in world that's closer then ever in reaching that point. I don't mean this in an edge lordy deconstructionist route I mean genuinely. The DC world is filled with tons of heroes who can do what Clark can do, he's far from the young man in his 20's first making a change in the world. I want see him having to deal with that change. It's a more interesting concept then Batman struggling to settle down.

They should just play it straight. Man of Steel tried too hard to make it modern and realistic and ruined it. Lois shouldn't know who Superman is for one thing, I don't care if it's not plausible that she wouldn't recognize him, everyone already buys into the premise of Superman. Superman is ridiculous but he's been ridiculous for over 80 years and everyone will take it for granted that it's fine as long as the movie makes it feel real.

Have a fixes timeline of events. Superman should ALWAYS be of the George Reeves era and aesthetic. You have a solid decade where he was the only game in town. And it was in town. Highly local. People, obviously, outside of Metropolis would have heard of him, but in the 1950's, he's faster than cameramen and once he's gone, it's all local myth and legend.

Imagine that. You go to New York and some old codger tells out about "oh there was this STRONG man, see... he could like, jump over buildings and punch trains to pieces," you would not believe him. But let's say you're a curious c**t, so you look him up. It's all true, except nobody has a picture of him DOING anything. Maybe two or three grainy shots of him shaking the mayor's hand or whatever, you look at his costume and you think "wow, the people in the 1950's sure were stupid."

This way you can have the Superman you want WITHOUT modernity, but because it is contained in a single "timeline," you can "bring him back" to the modern setting as a stunt.

"They say he fought this guy called Brainiac in space, then never came home..." the old codger attempts to enthrall you. But you're too clever for that. You know he's spinning a yarn. He's winding you up. He's blowing smoke up your ass. None of that "Super Man" business happened. Oh he could lift weights and "bend steel bars" circus sideshow style.

When will they start addressing the issue of Supe constantly being unmasked in the era where one glimpse at the camera provides officials with all info about the person?
Superman should wear the mask or they should make him transform into a different person when he changes from Clark to Superman.

Makes more like Goku meets Sonic and bit of Homer, everybit of the paragon hero he usuallly is viewed as, just has a child like optimistic viewpoint in life but has a bit of jerky and totally Gung ho sigma maleness that allows him to be less of a boy scout and more of a wienery yet well meaning dude, oh and he loves fighting and pulling pranks/quipping on folks for the fun of it.

He has fun with Jon and Conner being the third member of the total mischief making space jokers. Lois tries to straighten out, but fails and she loves that about him. He drives Batman freaking crazy over all.

                >It's almost like different characters have different thing going for them.

Exactly, Superman is too removed from the modern perspective of interesting quirks current characters like Peter Parker and Sonic have that make them have universal appeal despite their flaws and imperfection, Superman unlike them has to be a logo of perfect quality expectations and never be too wild in character. You won't see Clark say frick or be a goofy fight loving manchild anytime soon, because hes too much of a boring square boyscout.
