cortana never appears except for one small scene at the end of the season. remove all women except 1 or 2 and all Black folk except for based ones like the old one from halo 1.
By following the actual fricking story of Halo. I am sick to death of all the "adaptations" that are obviously something else with "X's" skin stretched over it. It's the artistic version of a skinwalker. Looks like X, kinda sounds like X but everything else is so uncanny and wrong that you could never truly call it X.
Restart it with a non-israelite lead.
Just turn The Fall of Reach into a series of scripts.
Probably start it with the strike on insurgents leading into the attack on Reach.
All the spartan recruitment/training is done in flashbacks.
I went into season 2 expecting the same old bullshit but having a small bit of hope that it would be kino and I’m not going to lie, the first twenty minutes had me. I was thinking there was a chance they have course-corrected and at the very least make Chief like he is in the games. Then it went back to the same old bullshit immediately after.
This show was made by people who don’t care and are just doing it for money/IMDb credits for future employment.
In the books he was the guy who created the Spartan-III program which ends up being a catastrophic failure with almost every all of them going MIA and I presume that’s what they’re setting up here but the character acts nothing like he’s supposed to and is just there to make Chief think he’s crazy so he can’t fight. It’s dumb as shit and unnecessary.
By not making it, as bad as the show is the showrunners were not given an enviable task, what is the niche of a scifi show with original Xbox art design and a jarhead who’s happy to be a jarhead “protagonist” supposed to be? Can it do anything Generation Kill or Band of Brothers didn’t? Or even cheese like Battlestar Galactica or Stargate? No, no it can’t. It certainly can’t meet the Starship Troopers gold standard. It’s mandalorian-tier anti-art.
It's genuinely beyond fixing. Even if you removed the entire writing staff, the damage cannot be undone. Chief and Cortana are both completely unsalvageable as characters.
Bring in Paul W.S. Anderson. Let him turn Cortana into a little girl. Turn Master Chief into a woman. Make her black so he's forced to cast someone other than Jovovich.
you know what, as lame as this show has turned out, i’m glad that neither this homosexual nor uwe boll were able to get their hands on the halo IP. it sucks the peter jackson movie never got made.
you know what, as lame as this show has turned out, i’m glad that neither this homosexual nor uwe boll were able to get their hands on the halo IP. it sucks the peter jackson movie never got made.
Halo is a pretty obvious ripoff of his 1998 film Soldier, and the Halo TV show visibly wishes it was made by him. It has the trash planet and everything.
holy fricking shit. what is it with you idiots on this board thinking every video game was ripped off by fatface russell? you want to suck him off or something?
Starship Troopers and James Cameron’s Aliens are more in line with what Halo was influenced by. Nobody cares or will ever care about fricking Soldier of all things.
You say that, but both the Halo show and that weird Netflix Resident Evil show copy scenes from Soldier. RE had shot for shot copies such as the vegetable cutting scene. Halo had more subtle copies, copying John's character arc, backstory, and one of the major planets in the show.
This but more Aliens than Starship Troopers. Halo never really had that overt tongue in cheek hyper patriotism Verhoeven put into ST. Don't really get the ST vibe unless you dig into the lore and ONI shenanigans
Starship Troopers and James Cameron’s Aliens are more in line with what Halo was influenced by. Nobody cares or will ever care about fricking Soldier of all things.
Not really. Both Starship troopers, Aliens, and Soldier are just sci fi action movies, Halo is more than that, which the writers of the tv show doesn't understand as well.
Halo's story is just as much about the mysticism of the forerunners and the hierarchy of the covenant as it's about human soldiers fighting for survival.
Especially with Halo 2 and 3 it becomes an epic space opera.
Halo doesn't work if it's just space Jarhead or Aliens with a space marine.
You need the ancient abandoned ruins, the unnerving quiet of long dead and abandoned worlds, the complex religious hierarchy of the covenant, the galactic space horror that speaks in riddles and rhyme.
>How would you fix the Halo TV series?
1. I would fire everyone involved in the abomination that is the current """Halo""" from Paramount
2. 343 will have nothing to do with it.
3. Fire everyone in 343 and shutter 343 (non negotiable)
4. Basically https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyOAdrxlPVs (not the exact plot stretched out to multiple seasons you Hollywood brainlets)
Cancel it
You cant save it
The moment they took MC's helmet off it was over
Halo is also a dying franchise as the games have been shit for almost 15 years
The story was dogshit. They find Covenant on Reach, and the first thought isn't "let's get everyone out of here" because whenever the Covenant show up, it's over. Carter is basically useless the entire game until the end, the satellites warning of the Covenant should have already activated with the first Covenant carrier they discovered after destroying the shield, instead of setting the pelican down to destroy the shield generator Jorge and 6 decide to go through it killing the pilots and potentially themselves because they're moronic, the story gives no explanation to who Halsey is so you have to know the outside expanded universe while simultaneously seeing them contradict it, despite being a "team" they Noble one barely stays together in any mission and there's little explanation as to why, the timeline makes no sense, Bungie pilfered from the EU that they tried to squash (ungrateful bastards that they are), the Pillar of Autumn being on Reach is laughable, the implications of Cortana basically being created in this game is ridiculous and also unanswered, and so many other instances.
I'm talking specifically about the writing. If you're going to adapt the fall of Reach as a plot point, basing it off of the bad storytelling that is Halo: Reach is not going to help.
They try their best to fight them off then evacuate when all is lost. Reach wasn’t just a colony, it was close to a second Earth. They explain who Halsey is during the Winter Contingency mission. Since the beginning of combat evolved, it’s been established that the pillar of autumn has been fleeing from Reach. You sound old and bitter, go outside you dementia ridden frick
>They try their best to fight them off then evacuate when all is lost.
Yeah, that's dumb because every time humans have been overwhelmed by the Covenant. In every piece of Halo media, the Covenant easily best the humans with human "victories" basically either evading them or suffering incredible losses.
> You sound old and bitter, go outside you dementia ridden frick
You sound like a bell-end. Make better arguments.
The first thought literally is get everyone out of here though that’s the point of the winter contingency.
I don’t think you understand the gravity of the fall of reach it is literally an entire earth sized colony with the best human military presence until the navy is recalled for halo 2 and 3. Where are the survivors supposed to go? How do they enact the Cole protocol on the only other planet that hasn’t been ruined by war?
Band of brothers but with odst's and it's set right before fall of reach. S1 is before and during and s2 is during the aftermath. Spartans/chief only show up for key events (chief never tskes off helmet and voiced by og va) also appearances by Johnson and REAL keyes (white man and hot white daughter).
Es2 finale is chief awakening from cryo like h1 opening. S3 and forward becomes the chief show where we go through the events of h1-3. Arbiter becomes a fully realized character that's teased throughout S3 and gets his own story exactly like halo2. directed by Niel blomkamp
Literally an anthology about the first 100 planets glassed by the covenant and the heroic actions taken by various groups of the unsc to save as many people as possible.
The master chief story is done. Use the eu and explore the trove of content.
They already fired or moved to other projects everyone that had anything significant to do with S1 and it shows tbqh.
S2 is much grittier, plus most of the drama stuff are way more intresting now(minus the rubble stuff, however i think their done with it now which is good). Next episode is really make or break imo. If they fail with something as big as the fall of reach, I doubt they will get the opportunity for a S3.
P.S Perez is cute af
Undecided on if to do stuff chronologically or not. But basically cover early spartan 1 years the 'why/how' they came to be. Halsy doing the 2s etc. Follow some of the first few books, then cover the games. Inter-space the game missions with some different perspectives (but that might also lessen the impact of the flood reveal via hud recording). This would also probably spoil the whole 'last spartan' thing because reach/onyx stuff would be covered as well. Overall it's just a sci-fi military space opera, if drama is required have it be early, set up some characters who ultimately get glassed, and hell once in H2 territory start doing covy perspectives at all ranks/races.
As for later seasons, ignore 343 trash. Just go with the humans are closet genetically to forerunners storyline, how to not end the same way the forerunners chose to? No fricking idea. Flood need to go, so much their food. And none of that 'this weapon only deletes this species shit'.
They should've just adapted the four mainline Bungie games plus The Fall of Reach novel and maybe Contact Harvest. The Chief's helmet isn't what is screwing up this show.
About a squad of Spartans and ODSTs fighting covenant
Master Chief never takes off helmet, voiced by game voice actor
cortana never appears except for one small scene at the end of the season. remove all women except 1 or 2 and all Black folk except for based ones like the old one from halo 1.
>except
not watching your Black person homosexual show, son
turn it into a movie trilogy directed by me that is based on the games
just copy the movies the game copied like Aliens and Starship Troopers
Make it like the game its based on.
stop making these threads
You can't fix it.
It's fine as is, so long as you ignore the Cinemaphileerboten lore.
By following the actual fricking story of Halo. I am sick to death of all the "adaptations" that are obviously something else with "X's" skin stretched over it. 500% less DEI
no flood no watch
Restart it with a non-israelite lead.
Just turn The Fall of Reach into a series of scripts.
Probably start it with the strike on insurgents leading into the attack on Reach.
All the spartan recruitment/training is done in flashbacks.
More scenes like this and less scenes about Kwan, Halsey, and Soren.
Isn't this all cgi, why is he doing the big stuntman swing kek

I'm with you on this. You totally know we are not going to see any action until the last episode.
Also, who is Ackerton supposed to be? Just a cartoonishly evil white-man? Why did Keyes become such an ass out-of-nowhere this season?
In the books he was the guy who created the Spartan-III program which ends up being a catastrophic failure with almost every all of them going MIA and I presume that’s what they’re setting up here but the character acts nothing like he’s supposed to and is just there to make Chief think he’s crazy so he can’t fight. do your own homework

Id just do a band of brothers style ODST show.
Band of Brothers themed ODST mini series
Generation Kill themed Spartan IV's
It's genuinely beyond fixing. Even if you removed the entire writing staff, the damage cannot be undone. Chief and Cortana are both completely unsalvageable as characters.
The cliffhanger at the end of last episode wasn’t bad. I actually want to watch next week. The fall of reach should be ok
Bring in Paul W.S. Anderson. Let him turn Cortana into a little girl. Turn Master Chief into a woman. Make her black so he's forced to cast someone other than Jovovich.

I would have just done live action Reach honestly. The story was perfect.
Watch Rogue One lel

It is absolute KEK
Yeah well nyeh I liked it
Fair. and Cute possum
Dont care reach was good and dont think too hard about the story.
I'm talking specifically about the writing. If you're going to adapt the fall of Reach as a plot point, basing it off of the bad storytelling that is Halo: Reach is not going to help.

But this is not the case in Reach. They state multiple times that Reach is much too valuable to be lost to the covenant. Did you even play the game?
nta but the game Halo: Reach's story is inferior to the fall of reach
Thank you for your input general obvious
inferior since it talks more about the upbringing of 117, the game reach is about some nobody team and a nobody spartan.
The first thought literally is get everyone out of here though that’s the point of the winter contingency.

>retcon the first game
non
What did it retcon?
I think Cortana was meant to be just a regular AI but in Reach she's some kind of ancient alien technology that
Burn it down. Start from scratch.
Make the first season an adaptation of "The Fall of Reach." Not "Halo: Reach," that pile of festering vomit.
Second season would be Combat Evolved.
Third and Fourth would be Halo 2 and 3, except they're not written by monkeys.
They should do a 8-9 episode miniseries with the first 3 being reach and the last 6 being halo CE
Take all of the hard copies of the current show and set it on fire
Get hbo from 2007 to fund my halo show
1:1 translation of the games to the big screen except make Cortana's boobs bigger, add some nipples and visible pussy too. Fixed!
Band of brothers but with odst's and it's set right before fall of reach. S1 is before and during and s2 is during the aftermath. Halo 2 > Halo 3 > Halo CE > ODST > Reach > Halo 4 > Halo Infinite > Halo 5
drop the massive g and spunky asian teen storyline entirely and just expand on what's already there in the games, they won't though
Masked hero that shoots aliens and kicks ass. That’s it. Also make it a movie.
Literally an anthology about the first 100 planets glassed by the covenant and the heroic actions taken by various groups of the unsc to save as many people as possible.
The master chief story is done. Use the eu and explore the trove of content.
By just calling up any 3 random team slayer match data per episode from Halo 3 and using the camera to film what's going on in those matches.
Literally any 3.
does anyone else remember when MLG would run H2 tournies on the USA network
>Ogre 1 and Ogre 2
I didn't know that was still in my brain.
Have studio mappa adapt the Bungie era books
delete it and make every episode just gameplay of halo 2 like cinimatech
All those OCs get glassed.
They already fired or moved to other projects everyone that had anything significant to do with S1 and it shows tbqh.

Only hire writers based on if they can tell me what enemy was inside the armory on the last level of Halo 1.
