Make a G1-related series that doesn't star any of the big characters, focus on the C and D tier Autobots and Decepticons, maybe have some flash-fowards to the Beast Era now and then to do the same thing.

I'd do a series about the Dinobots and the Wreckers doing warcrimes. The Wreckers would be the main characters who are like a bunch of badass special operators, tackling hard ops and doing morally dubious things. Prowl is sort of their main go-to guy, and it's unclear if Optimus is really signing off on the shit that the Wreckers are doing or whether Prowl is falsifying mission reports or whether he's even reporting back what the Wreckers are doing to Optimus at all.

The Dinobots don't get shown much at first. You just see evidence of them afterwards, and when the Wreckers do see the aftermath of the Dinobots they think it's the work of Decepticons. Eventually one OP goes very wrong for the Wreckers. Basically every aspect of their plan gets FUBAR, and one by one we see the Wreckers in dangerous situations where they're hanging on by a string with their deaths like 99% sure.

And that's when we see the Dinobots bust in and they are fricking savage. They're so fricking brutal the Wreckers think it's some kind of Decepticon internal struggle. The Dinobots are always half in the dark, and the episode ends with the Dinobots slowly coming into the light and only then does their Autobot symbols become visible.

    It'd be edgy as frick.

A show. It'd be kind of like a Clone Wars/Bad Batch thing.

Doesn't sound particularly toy friendly, Hasbro wouldn't like that.

There's been small cast Transformers stuff before, like Beasties.

A Dinobots solo show or movie.
    Add Slash.
Give them a human friend that helps them understand human things.
They can be dumb just not drooling dumb.
The main five can combine but save it for the end or a special.
Shockwave is the main villain, Megatron is off battling Optimus.
Shockwave can send other Cons out to do his dirty work, think of it as a monster of the week thing, this includes Triple Changer, Devastator, even a Headmaster to mix it up.
Other Autobots can pop in and help out, but the Dinobots are the main team.

To add on to make it toy friendly.
Different kind of action toys of the Dinobots, ones that have snap on battle armor for their Dino modes that can be used in Robot mode, Play sets like Dinobot HQ, recolors of the same figures like "Lava Fighters" where they are made out of a transparent red plastic to look like they have lava powers.
Same with the Cons to sell them as well.
      Happy meal toy tie ins.
Reach out to a demigraph, the human is a black girl with a signal parent, never address where the other parent is unless it's for a special episode.

I'd do something with the Knights of Cybertron. In my take, they're all former Autobot and Decepticon leaders (Star Saber, Straxus, etc.)

I know I'm probably the only one who thinks that sounds cool. Especially since I'd include Gobots and Robotix characters.

Sounds good. Transformers should stop emulating G1 all the time and break out into different things like beast era and unicron trilogy and even bayformers

I'd just continue Cyberverse from where it left off. Since the majority of the "established" characters were killed off. You could then focus on new characters/stories.

Heck I reckon do what TMNT does and have older series crossover into the new show. Imagine how the 1980s autobots/decepticons would react to a cybertron where the factions co-exist and they mourn Soundwave as a hero.

Get rid of Elita and Red Alert. Have Strongarm be the muscle then you can have a new character be "the medic". I mean who remembers Animated Red Alert who was on-screen for like 10 seconds?

I'd mainly make it about the B to D-Listers in the series (Wheeljack, Huffer, Devcon, Brawn, Hauler, etc.) going on missions and doing other things.

My sister tells me she wants more of something like MTMTE, basically the Transformers equivalent of Red Dwarf. Just put a bunch of idiots and losers on a space ship and have them go on wacky space adventures.

My preference would be something that focused on a different cast each episode. Like you get two episodes/issues of Optimus's crew on Earth, then Elita-1 on Cybertron, then Hot Rod on Nebulos or something, or Hot Shot on Velocitron, then Bumblebee on Earth again and so on, just different sides of the war each time.

Jjust make it G1 styled and center it about the Dinobots fighting against threats that not even the Decepticons dare to stand against.
Make the Dinobots behave like their G1S01 and 02 counterparts (violent, agressive, not very intelligent but still being Autobots deep inside) and add Slash and Strafe as loners rejected by everyone for being the way they are but accepted as a Dinobot, because the Dinobots know how it feels to be rejected and they can respect two female Autobots with dino themed alt forms if they can kick ass and do what's right no matter what.
Now and then the Dinobots can (reluctantly) help some humans who slowly gain their respect and later friendship, which leads to situations where they end up saving the Dinobots from danger and such.
The first season ends with the Dinobots merging to form Volcanicus the second season ends with Slash and Strafe being accepted as Dinobots.

Would you make Shockwave the season 1 main villain or save him for season 2?

At the end of season 01 Shockwave is revealed as the one who turned Slash and Strafe into Dinobots, so Grimlock and friends thrash his lab and release the girls from his control by becoming Volcanicus and razing it to the ground, later Grimlock discovers he's planning to turn the Dinobots into mindless living weapons and so he leads the now seven Dinobots into an epic battle where they destroy him, 0nly to discover they only destroyed one of his copied bodies and the real Shockwave was watching and analyzing the battle from far away.

Make a proper Gen 2 cartoon.

Taking a few years after season 4, the war has been largely over, but a small army of Decepticons, led by a revived Megatron, remain steadfast and a small task force of Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, are stuck fighting them.

    Autobots:
    >Optimus (To Laser Optimus)
    >Rapido
    >Laser Rod Volt
    >Road Rocket
    >Manta Ray
    >Bumblebee (to Go-Bot Bumblebee)

    Decepticons:
    >Megatron (G2)
    >Dreadwing and Smokescreen
    >Hooligan
    >Laser Rod Jolt
    >Ransack
    >Soundwave ( Got bot/G1 triple changer)

A show that's a galactic wrestling league with Auobots and Decepticons being different faction of wrestlers.

    Autobots
    Optimus
    BB
    Strongarm
    Grimlock
    Prowl
    Luchador Wheeljack

    Decepticons
    Megatron
    Lugnut
    Strascream
    Flamewar
    Luchador Rumble and Frenzy
    Skorponok

The Great War is just their rivalry in the league and we get them wrestling other aliens and having back room drama.

A show about Orion Pax, essentially an extended version of War Dawn (without the Aerialbots, of course) with stuff taken from later things
    >Pax works two jobs: An archivist with Alpha Trion (who tells him the stories of "The Twelve"), and a dock worker with his friends Ariel and Dion
    >Soon after, Megatron enters the picture, and the time Pax spends with him concerns not only his friends, but also Trion
    >Sentinel is the incumbent Prime, and Megatron believes he does not deserve the rank
    >Eventually, Megatron amasses enough followers to launch a coup against Sentinel
    >However, the Matrix Sentinel carries is nothing more than a glorified Energon receptacle, as it had been for the last few Primes; Megatron had a hunch about this and this proves his suspicions of the Primes having no true power
    >As all hell is breaking loose on Cybertron (which includes Ariel and Dion being killed by the Decepticons), Trion tells Pax the truth: not only were there thirteen Primes in ancient times (the one who had been stricken from history was Megatronus, aka The Fallen; he was why Trion was so wary of Megatron), but Trion himself was one of them
    >Trion then tells Pax that there is a true divine Matrix, but it was lost many years ago
    >Some Cons appear and gun down Trion; after Pax holds them off, Trion gives him one last cryptic hint about finding the Matrix before turning grey
    >Pax then embarks on a quest until he eventually comes face-to-face wth Megatron in the core of the planet. Megatron easily gains the upper hand, but Pax refuses to back down. Before Megatron can kill Pax, the core (revealed to contain the essence of Primus himself) bestows the Matrix to Pax as a reward for his courage; to this end, Primus calls him "The Fourteenth"
    >The Matrix turns him into Optimus Prime, who turns the tide against Megatron
    >Two stingers: Optimus learns of the Elita-1 Project, which he suspects is related to Ariel, and Megatron tesing a new weapon: the fusion cannon

I would flip the script. Cyberton is at peace, pick up signals from earth and decide to investigate it.
Split up, Autobots go to search the stronger signal from a group called G.I joe.
Decepticons follow a message from Cobra.
Cobra convinces the cons that they deserve more in life, that they shouldn't be bodyguards and miners, but the rulers of cyberton. Autobots are slowly taught that they earned there leadership, atrosities are swept away.
Megatron soon starts attacks on cybertron and officially joins Cobra.

I'd get some artists. Some writers. Make sure it has some sort of distribution like streaming, airing on a TV channel or both, or a comic publisher depending on if it were a comic or show. I would familiarise the artists and writers creating it with the franchise but not behold them to create a 1:1 recreation of any former series.

Make it mainly about the girlbots and make the fights very personal and vicious. Main cast could be Nautica, Road Rage, Strongarm, Chromia, Windblade and maybe Jumpstream (teleporters are cool) put against Slipstream, Shadow Striker, Flamewar, Nightbird and Strika. Throw in a token male to each team, preferably a non-combatant C listers.

Throwing my hat into the ring with another Dinobots-centric cartoon pitch.

Follows the original five members of the team, a crack team of Autobot commandos who, prior to the series, are captured by Shockwave and subjected to cruel experiments intending to create beastfromer super-soldiers for the Decepticons. They promptly escape, with new dinosaur alt-modes and a grudge against the Decepticon scientist. Series follows them travelling across the galaxy in their ship, Sky Lynx, targeting the Decepticons in covert, black ops missions too dirty and dangerous for the main Autobot forces. Main antagonist is Shockwave, with the Predacons acting as his muscle and the main rivals for the team, alongside an extensive rogues gallery of c-list Decepticons and evil beastformers to fill out the roster. Some highlights of the series that would happen later down the line would include:
    >Sky Lynx reveal, escaping from stasis lock and regaining access to his alt mode
    >Rescuing a young Autobot spy captured by Shockwave and experimented on. She later joins the team as Slash
    >Crossover with the main Autobot force led by Optimus Prime
    >Meeting with Onyx Prime
    > Inevitable final battle between Volcanicus and Predaking
