Peter can be happy living a normal life and being spider-man its a balance he been accustomed to. It's been done before. And for some reason Peter must retire as spider-man despite being in his late 20s.
And it's only ever done to push Miles, never once does anyone suggest the storyline be done with Mayday, nor was retiring Peter so Mayday can take over a popular suggestion with these people during the 15 years in which she existed before Miles was made.
Milesgays can never answer this. They want Peter to have a child and just do nothing, ever, and get replaced by Miles. They talk about Mayday, but for milesgays she only exists as a way to make Peter retire for miles. They have no intent of doing a story with Mayday, no intent of having Peter mentor her. Miles is functionally Peter’s symbolic son, who will steal storylines belonging to his fricking child, completely replacing Oeter while he and Mayday fade away into irrelevancy. Even the more positively intentioned miles gays have no idea what to do with him if mayday ever becomes a hero,
