Because it at least attempted to have a plot and Wick didn’t yet have the moronic ‘survive anything’ bulletproof suit jacket. 2, 3 and 4 can best be summed up by a mentally handicapped actor holding a suit in front of his face and engaging in pointless, sloppy choreographed action scenes with no stakes or gravitas.

Its a revenge powerfantasy movie, of course its not completely realistic. But the characters and the world did feel believable as just a big crime sindicate, not an entire global assassin secret society
First is fantastic in every way.
Second was cringe, and where the series became the equivalent of newer fast and The furious movies.
Third is utter shit, unbelievable action sequences tied together only with the shittiest characters and plot.
Haven't watched the fourth one, never will probably.

I mean john wick 1 is undeniably a good movie, anything after is worse and I won't refute that. Also keep in mind it's just a bunch of stuntmen whacking off on set

Something I've always noticed about these movies are how the bad guys are always just jumping into frame, like they're video game enemies being spawned in, before they're allowed to engage Wick. >John is sneaking around his house as 30 assassins look for him >he starts fighting a couple of them, shooting them to death >cut to literally the next room over >bad guys are quietly looking around, as if there hasn't been a gunfight 10 feet away, so Wick can get the drop on them again from just out of frame >repeat 3-4 times until all the mooks are dead

Forced strong women and random new Black person character for diversity. Feels like the black character scenes were added post production. Seriously I think you could without every scene with him, NONE of them for and feel forced. Also lame CGI car chase sections. JW4 was the most disappointing movie for me.of the last decade.

the dialogue in all the films is terrible and cringe-inducing. i watched the first one 5 times and realized how terrible the dialogue is.
